Current Ops

</td> </tr> <tr> <td>ACCLive! Has entered a new phase of promotion! The prospect of ** "Double Awarding"** has been approved by the GM and DGM. From now until the end of November, combatants can gain 2 CF's per win and 2 CF's per every two losses via ACCLive!. SO GO PLAY!! **Tues, Thurs and Sunday Tournament in #acc.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>The Force Pool System** has been released - combatants with battles that started on or after the 1st of Nov should see an OOC in their intros. You can find the FP System information here.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>The Second CHL is running!!! The Second round is done, with two battles waiting to be rated, I'm getting to those today. After that, we will move along to the third round. With the exception of the two battles that are waiting, you can start requesting RoE's for the next round.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Concerning time-outs: If you know you're going to be LoA, you need to "officially" request a battle extension, even if I know you're going to be gone. You MUST mail the CM, DCM _and your opponent with the request BEFORE your battle times out. If your opponent says "no"... tough luck, if you "forget" to send your request in time, to those mentioned... tough luck. "Acts of God" and unavoidable instances will be considered - but they will not replace poor planning on your part._</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>

It ends this coming weekend, but despite no post time limit most seem pretty on the ball as far as being able to finish is concerned. </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>

Voting ends on the 17th of November.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Corran and I have been moving along on the toughest part of the new compendium, the databanks. Everything from guns to locations are illustrated with a picture as well as a description, we went from 5% completion to 85% completion in just these couple of days - hence the late report :) I will interpret locations, for example, that aren't from the movies or plainly obvious - but don't worry, when this thing is released there'll be a time when you can submit a "better" picture, if you have one, of anything in the compendium databanks.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>

Tip Of The Week

</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Words</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>"Whilst" - how many times can that word appear in a single post before it becomes annoying? 2, 3, 15? The smart money is on "2" especially if the post is less than 300 words in length, hehe. The point? Avoid repeating yourself in your posts. Yes, we all have a 'style' but, though it might read okay "whilst" you're typing it, avoid trapping yourself in that style. Dictionaries and Thesauruses are handy tools and there are tons of resources online to help you out. The very words you choose to use can make or break your writing. On the same topic, it is IMPERATIVE that you know what a word means, as a first step, if you are going to use it correctly. The second step is, obviously, using it correctly while being wary of the many uses some words have. From the Queen's English to American English...to "Canuck-Speak" (:P)...spelling, usage, syntax and even definition can be worlds apart or exactly the same. Where you're ACC writing is concerned, try separating the language. Using myself and Dalthid as an example: I write pretty plain in general, I don't get too, fancy. So, I write my posts and the body of text pretty much how I'd write anything else. However, when I get to a point where "Dalthid" is speaking - I blatantly hyphenate, abbreviate, spell phonetically (the way a word sounds instead of how it's spelled) and exaggerate his lines of text. The point there is to make a definitive break between my story writing and Dalthid's speaking patterns. This adds a sense of realism to what is being read and allows the character to break from the text of the battle into someone that can almost be 'heard'. Now, I'm not the only one who does this, many do - but more than that don't. So look at your writing as a way to establish yourself in the ACC, take pride in it - the better your writing, the harder it is for us to judge.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> <table border="0" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" width="90%" bordercolorlight="#1B1B1B" bordercolordark="#000000" id="table2"> <tr> <td>DA Dalthid</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Combat Master</td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>
