News & Information

</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>The Clan Halls proposal went out last week and, as I expected, I didn't hear from everyone. I did hear from DJM Arania Lawakiro Palpatine, DJM Xanos Sadow and DA Shadow Taldrya - thanks to those three for their timely response. Unfortunately, 3 out of 12 isn't enough for me to press forward with anything, so once again - it will be shelved. </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>The former SHW, DJM Sith Bloodfyre-Tarentae, approached me this passed week with an idea for the way we accomplish Training. A skeletal version of it was passed throughout the staff and 'overall' it seems to be getting good remarks. The idea is primarily concerned with using the Trainer as a 3rd party - wherein, Initiates will actually 'train' with each other as the Trainer looks on and "instructs". Without getting too much into it, it actually seems like it'd be pretty cool - both in practice and fictionally. Needless to say, we'll draw it up to form and test it within the staff first before we make anything "official" - thanks to BF for the idea! </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>The Second CHL has dropped into the semi-finals, the match-ups should birth a couple of great battles: GM Jac Cotelin vs. KPN Muz Ashen Keibatsu (RoE = DJP) and DJM Xanos Sadow vs. DA Corran Halcyon Arconae. I am going to try and pick a location that's as nuts as I can imagine to hopefully do the four of them justice - we'll look to kick-off Monday morning.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>The ACC was opened up to Trainer Applications last week, and I just wanted to clarify the "not optional" application requirements:</td> </tr> <tr> <td>- Send applications to me, the DCM, your House leader and one Clan leader as applicable (i.e. if you're the PCON, the "one" Clan leader is the CON, you don't have a House leader :P)</td> </tr> <tr> <td>- The application will include the appropriate protocol (i.e. don't start the app with "whazzzuuuup" and include your ID Line)</td> </tr> <tr> <td>- Sell yourself, why do you think we should hire you? (i.e. "cuz I gots good writin' skillz..." is NOT what we're looking for :P)</td> </tr> <tr> <td>- A "blurb" of recommendation from your immediate leadership (i.e. they are not required to write an entire letter, just a few lines of "support". After all, a Trainer's job can be pretty demanding - if you end up being a "good" trainer, the possibility of your Clan activity dropping off is pretty likely)</td> </tr> <tr> <td>- A link to one of your battles, or an attached example of your writing (i.e. this "should" be something that you think is worth reading - didn't think I needed to say that :P)</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Note: These 5 requirements have a specific intent - failing to meet one of them will see your app kicked back. In some cases, all you'll have to do is fix what you missed and re-submit. In others, you may be asked not to apply again.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>

Reminders

</td> </tr> <tr> <td>- Echani as a fighting style has been taken up by the Commander of the Guard where it's 'approval' is concerned. The CM/DCM will no longer process approvals or declinations for this style, rather, should you wish to be approved for its use - please seek the counsel of the CoG.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>- The** Force Pool System** has been released - combatants with battles that started on or after the 1st of Nov should see an OOC in their intros. You can find the FP System information here.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>- Concerning time-outs: If you know you're going to be LoA, you need to "officially" request a battle extension, even if I know you're going to be gone. You MUST mail the CM, DCM _and your opponent with the request BEFORE your battle times out. If your opponent says "no"... tough luck, if you "forget" to send your request in time, to those mentioned... tough luck. "Acts of God" and unavoidable instances will be considered - but they will not replace poor planning on your part.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>- To have a competition 'set up' through the ACC, the coordinators need to mail the CM or the DCM. Once all the specifics of the competition have been worked out, the CM or DCM will submit the competition FOR YOU! This is to cut down on the last-minute "hey, remember that competition I told you about 5 months ago and haven't brought up with you since... yea, well... it's starting tomorrow..." stuff. This way, we can track your competitions and make sure they get set up properly and in a timely manner - "forgetting" about it becomes our fault, not yours. _</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>

Tip Of The Week

</td> </tr> <tr> <td>The ACC Initiate's Course</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Use the course notes! _Answer the questions completely - BUT TO THE POINT! Many an overzealous student has tried to "wow" the graders with their vast ability to ramble - unfortunately, most of them ramble in the wrong direction and make a correct answer wrong. _Use the course notes! Yea, they're a bit outdated now - not a lot, but in a few points like the P:CM stuff, which should be DCM - but that doesn't matter if you're using the course notes - because the answers are based off of the course notes, not how things are "now". Use the course notes! Also, since I'm not one who usually comments on why a student failed (I figure, "you got enough questions wrong to fail..." is pretty clear when the mail reads "...course failed" - meh), I'll give you a bit of a hint to the last question - this one time only (though, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to, so it'll be brief :P): It's a stat question - an 'unhindered punch' simply means it wasn't blocked, slowed or otherwise redirected from it's course... which has NO bearing on the question - yea, bet that helped :) Use the course notes! </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> <table border="0" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" width="90%" bordercolorlight="#1B1B1B" bordercolordark="#000000" id="table2"> <tr> <td>DA Dalthid</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Combat Master</td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>
