Hey everybody -

As you have probably noticed (either from getting emails from me, or seeing me on IRC), I have returned from my unexpected absence. I felt I owed all of you an explanation for my time away from the DB, especially since it came so suddenly. The last week and a half were my exam weeks at college, and I (unfortunately) grossly underestimated the amount of work I was going to have to do for the exams. On top of that, they fired 6 people where I work, so I had to work 70 hours during the one week. Together these events made it nearly impossible for me to tend to the DB, because basically as soon as I arrived home, I collapsed into bed. I did briefly glance at my emails each day to make sure there wasn't any chaos or catastrophe, but I didn't have the time to respond to more than 1-2.

Now that you all know what was going on, I want to apologize for my absence and any trouble it caused. There was a situation with the appointment of the HSK Aedile that arouse that I should have been around to deal with, but I wasn't. Also the lack of communication from my end caused some confusion and led to a few issues I try very hard to avoid. As communication is one of the principles I originally identified as important, I failed in this instance to keep to my tasks.

Any problems that occured were my responsibility, and any blame for the confusion should be placed on me - and I apologize to all of you. If anyone has something they want to talk about regarding my absence, my door is always open, please talk to me. Also I want to take a moment to compliment PCON Sarin and QUAs Godo and Jaysen for stepping up in my absence and keeping things going, thank you very much.

Moving on from this...I am obvoiusly back in business, and I also have some good news. Due to a change in my housing circumstances, I will have much more time after the holidays to spend working on DB stuff. That means we can all start actively working towards a better Plagueis, and no more absences from your Consul :) Sarin and I have already been hard at work on many different areas, and we've made some very solid progress (several things are 99% completed, and will be released soon) and have been working with the QUA/AEDs on several programs as well. The Clan name voting is in its final stages, and today I posted a new poll to choose a clan symbol/logo (see the Plagueis MB for both). In additoin, the layout for the new clan website has been completed, we've obtained a domain on which to host it, and Aerick has begun work on it! Finally...tonight (or early tomorrow morning) you can expect to find a dramatic change for Clan in your inbox, so keep an eye out for that.
