Quaestor Report

Greetings Kunians!

<table width="26%" border="0" cellspacing="5" cellpadding="0" align="left"> <tr> <td></td> </tr> </table>

We are now into 2006!? Hurrah! I trust we all saw the New Year in, in style? Plenty of fast wine, champagne, men/women I am willing to bet. My apologies for the lateness of this particular report for some reason you all get a little ansey if you don't get to read this thrilling document :P I watch the new year on TV seeing the infamous London Eye almost blow up from the shere force of Fireworks. Had time been on my side and not stuck with yet another super cold I would have been on the Themes with my trusty D70 catching some wonderful shots. No doubt listening to brainless report state the incredibly obvious "Oh and now I can see blue!" must have been for the colour blind out there.

Still I did down a cheap glass of red wine before coughing my guts up. So Happy New Year!

Let me thank all those who submitted their planets, and to those that have given lots of feedback on our forums. It's been quite surprising how much thought you have given to the project. Anything from hermit like existances to asteroids to rulling deities. We have a total of five that the membership have come up with, all have some brilliant ideas. It's worth pointing out that the chosen design is not the be all and end all. Over time I fully expect to see new additions and even the odd alteration to fit our needs. So I suggest looking at these as a 'template' and an excellent source for setting up competitions and fiction.

I will be setting up a Poll with links to each of the suggested planets on offer. We still have to pick a name, which I will be wanting to get done as quickly as possible. More on that in a moment. The only advice I can give any of you when choosing a planet is think about the House, about what we would like to achieve in terms of RPG, House development, what's going to be fun and what offer the most inspiration. I have delibrately not given names to the designer of each planet.

So I want names now, if each of you could think of a name you want for the planet and put it to me I would greatly appreciate it. Though being this is a new and already established system we cant really use names like Godo Nurok :P or Vader, Bespin, Hoth or even Byfrost etc. I suggest something entirely unique.

I hope you all enjoyed Issue 3 of the Plagueis Chronicle, I know a lot of you have already approached me and told me how much you enjoyed it. FULL credit goes out to the contributors, they wrote some great stuff. Also we now have a permanent URL for it, so past and present issues of the Chronicle will (not yet) be available via the below domain.

http://plagueischronicle.darkjedibrotherhood.com/

I will now be accepting submissions for issue 4 of the Chronicle, I need all your work by the 28th January with the edition being released on January 31st, All submissions and feedback can be sent to: [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

Competitions are always being created and to get an up to date view of all competitions running through the Brotherhood feel free to visit the competitions page on the Dark Brotherhood web site. Here's the link: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/competitions.asp

<table width="29%" border="0" cellspacing="5" cellpadding="0" align="left"> <tr> <td></td> </tr> </table>

I suggest you all read the descriptions very carefully before entering. As well as fiction, graphical competitions there also gaming contests that you can take part in. They support a wide range of different platforms, anything from Xwings Alliance to Jedi Acadamy. Your all free to take part and its an excellent opportunity earn something called a Cluster of Fire, a special medal for MP (multiplayer events) I believe you earn one if you get either three losses or one win. For more information take a look at the ICTE web site: http://icte.starwarsalliance.com/

Finally there is something called the ACC, the Antei Combat Centre. In short it's a form of combat where each player takes it in turn to write what happens next in the fight between you and your opponent. A judge determines who wins based on the writing and on your character sheet. You can create a character sheet through the Dark Brotherhood web site, but full information can be viewed here: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/acc/

*Title: Realities *

Requested By:

DJM Arania Lawakiro Palpatine

Specifics:

Cooperative epic fiction with a twist. 2-3 people are writing together. It involves members not acting in their usual position. The details about the story cannot be told before the competition starts as that would seriously take some of the fun away (we need a hidden competition info box). Stories can be serious or fun, but if fun, not overly silly please.

Start Date: 11/5/2005

End Date: 1/5/2006

Unit in Competition:

Entire DJB

More information: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/competitions.asp?ID=1303

*Title: [CP {Kun's Requiem}] Word search! *

Requested By:

DJK Thran Occasus

Specifics:

I think that one of the easiest competitions to do is a word search. So, I will be releasing one word search a week for an entire month! Here's how it works: I release a sentance or Phrase. You find as many possible words from the available letters in the phrase. Each word is worth one point. Words that are Star Wars Related are worth 2 points. The person with the most points for each word search is the winner. The more words you find...the more points you get! With that here is the first one! "A new home is in order, let us depart!" find those words!

Start Date: 1/1/2006

End Date: 1/31/2006

Unit in Competition:

Battle Team Kun's Requiem

More information: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/competitions.asp?ID=1467

*Title: Forced Alliance *

Requested By:

DA Telona Murrage

Specifics:

Telona has challenged the members of the DB to find a rare lightsaber crystal she has hidden in the Underground Caverns. The only big catch is you must team up with another member in order to survive. The other catch is this will all take place in the Antei Combat Center so Telona can control the conditions. Expect her madness to shine through the obstacles ahead. Members will only have a short amount of time to find the crystal. Instructions! To participate in this event you must have a valid character sheet. No need to be a Seeker. Challenge your friend to fight in 'The KHP's Armed Hostilities' hall. If you do not challenge someone in this particular hall your battle will not count! You won't be allowed any weapons besides your own fists, wits, and the Force. Battles will be 4+2 so make them count! The best teams will win first and second place. You may only have one battle to try for placement. Your win/loss count will not change by participating. Challenges will start on the 1st and continue until the 20th. Battles must be completed by the 31st to be considered. There won't be any time limit on posts to allow for more thought out posts. Battles will be judged on continuity, creativity, team effort, and language. Deathposts will be a joint ending instead of separate endings. Above all, have fun.

I think I ought remain this section to 'latest obsessions of the wife', she does seem to get exclusive coverage in this area of my report. I think I ought to sneak a picture into my report so you know what all the fuss is about. Unfortunately she reads my reports, normally to point out spelling or grammer mistakes but I know it would be my last report IF I did put a picture on the web site. One day though, one day. Speaking of which I bought her a copy of The Sims 2. A curious game where you essentially manage every tiny piece of a 'sims' life. Anything from buying houses and making them look pretty to getting you little man or women a job. Strangely compelling, watch your little creating each his breakfest, watch TV or even go to the toilet. It's like that horrible Big Brother but marginally more fun. I took the opportunity to make a Sim in my own image (I know, very God(0)ly of me). Perhaps rather worryingly he has taken on too much of a likeness, which includes terrible table manners and an obsession with playing his games.

Another nifty little title thats entered this household is the much vaunted Star Wars Battlefront 2 on Xbox. So far I have greeted it with mixed emotions. It is a better game and I like the improvements but why of why can you only and a hero royale on one map? And why cut out some of my favorite maps like Rhen Var and Bespin?! Though I am reliably informed these will be made available for download soon. Great if you have Xbox Live, which of course I do not. Though my father in law has now pinched the game and cackles away quite happily as he blasts rebel or even Imperials to bits. The real strength in this title I do not doubt is the Multiplayer experience, I must get Xbox Live! (my new years resolution).

One thing this household is not lacking in this time around is DVD's. We got that much over Christmas we could probably start our own rental store. Already I have ploughed into the likes of Batman Begins and just today War of the Worlds. Both I enjoyed but I am one of those annoying watchers who cant help pick plots to pieces. My wife is the same, so as we sit back with our popcorn we spend half the film discussing why Darth Vader decided to go all power hungry and why Mr Fantastic stretches so much. War of the Worlds never escaped us I'm affraid, not wishing to kill a plot here but you would think an all knowing, highly advanced alien intelligence would check outside their cosey little machines of death before going on an exterminating spree! Their 'tripod' ships were a friendly lot weren't they? When they first hoisted themselves out the ground, the locals decided to crowd round and stare. Frankly if I saw anything pulling itself out the ground I would have already been across the border to another state. I seem to recall the locals being equally stupid in Independence Day, where rather than fleeing for their miserable lives they instead decide to host a party on the top of a skyscraper wishing the Aliens well. Dear lord, why of why?

Again, sorry for the delay in this thrilling report. Unlike many of you I didnt despite my best efforts get so hammered that I couldnt see straight. Which is just as well because I would have missed those stupid news readers making rediculous comments. Within the next week or so I fully expect people to return from their holidays and get back to the business of making this Clan all powerful, or something like that. Have fun all.

Your Servant,

Godo Nurok
