Herald Report

Welcome to the first Herald report in quite some time.

If you've missed a bunch, you'll need to know that the former Herald, Cyris Oscura has suffered a significant accident, leaving him unable to work on his computer for any length of time. He decided to step down from his dream job last week, leaving the office in my hands. We all wish him well, and send him hopes for a speedy recovery.
New Praetor Appointed

As I was praetor before stepping up, I found myself needing a Praetor in short order. Thankfully, I didn't have very far to look for one. Thank you goes out to all those people who applied without my having to announce it. Without further ado, the new Praetor to the Herald is Shin'Ichi Endymiron Keibatsu. Shin and I have worked together on quite a few projects, and he has proven himself a very capable artist as well as a great organizer. I am very pleased to have him on-board.
Now, for the stuff you all want.

Sabers. You love them, admit it. I know that it's the whole reason i started watching the Original Star Wars Trilogy. It was sci-fi with super-swords. That made it so awesome that I could even tolerate the ewoks. Anyway, the big news in the Blades section is:

LIGHTSABER COMBAT GUIDE UPDATED!

Included in this tasty little update is the expansion of Trakata to a full-fledged form, More moves discovered for Shien that allow you to learn Saber-staff with, and some awesome new crystals and hilt materials for your own cutsom saber. Go check it out...it's tasty.

TRAINING LIGHTSABERS EN ROUTE!

The Dark Council finally approved the shipping orders, and these wonderful teaching aides will soon be available for some of our Journeymen. You can read more about training sabers soon, as I rework the Herald website.
Custom Sabers Delivered!

-> <-
FAMILY ROSTERS

If the Family leaders would kindly send me an updated roster of who is in your family, that would help me out greatly, as I plan on adding Family stuff to the HRLD site. Thank you.
FAMILY SEALS

If your family does not yet have a seal (logo), or other Graphic Identifier, please have your Family representative drop me a line and we can start working on one for you. Please note that this service is only for official and registered families.

-> <-
Website

I just got set up for FTP access (thanks, Jac) today, so I'll be working on that for the next few weeks. That will include an all-new Custom Lightsaber Guide, Warbanner Request Guide, as well as a few other cool stuff I think you will enjoy. Details as they develop.

Contract of Evil

Everyone has seen Art of the Saber, so I'm going to point you folks at this beauty. Massive amounts of work went into the costumes, the makeup, and the choreography done in this fanfilm. And it is all very cool. Unfortunately, very much like Lucas, not enough energy was spent making bearable dialogue. The dialogue is sometimes cheesy ("You have survived our first attack, and we have survived yours..."), But the fighting more than makes up for it in this tale about how Darth Maul ascended to the top of the darksider foodchain before getting pwnt by a n00b on Naboo. Plus, points for referencing the Brotherhood of Darkness. ;)

Episode III wins 3 People's Choice awards.

Revenge of the Sith took home two People's Choice Awards on January 10th in the category of Favorite Movie: Drama and Favorite Movie. The winners of the 32nd Annual People's Choice Award are selected by pubic voting via the Internet, and the results announced at the ceremony that aired on CBS. George Lucas accepted the award, adding it to his own trophy case.

And, that's about it for my first Herald report. Aren't you glad to made it all the way through? Are you even reading this? Until Next Week...

Contract of Evil...by far my most favorite fan film. So much action!

I felt it could of been better. You guys have only seen this film recently right? This film has been out for years now. I'm not sure how you guys have never seen it before. :P

It's been around for some time, yes...but gets little notice... hence the review thingy...

There's a good one made by some French dudes called "Versus". The dialogue is all in french, however the cinematography and action are astounding. btw good report.

I have placed every fanfilm on TFN Fanfilms on a DVD, all the SW ones anyway, good or bad.... I love Contract of Evil, and Duality rockz too, just goes to show ya how far computer generated movies have come too. Dark Redemption wasnt bad, I like the bounty hunters ship and lightsaber/blaster combo.

Contract of Evil rocked my little cotton socks when I first saw it. The dialogue might be typical Star Wars, but the fighting is incredible for a non-official movie. ^_^

Awesome Herald report! I drool at the GM sabers.

Congrats on your appointed as HRLD, and thanks for the work on the custom lightsaber, it works quite nicely! Also, awesome report Muz! :)

Congrats, Muz. Great report. I'll be contacting you later about some of the items mentioned.

And so you all know, I stand behind Muz as Herald. This may not mean much for most people, but it matters to a certain few - and these certain few are important.
