Quaestor Report

Greetings Kunians!

Let me begin by making an important announcement. I have decided to step down as Quaestor of Exar Kun, it's something I have wanted to do for a fair old time but I wanted to be sure that this House was in good shape and that my successor was ready and willing. So I formerly handed in my resignation to Sarin, which he has accepted. I have served a total of six months as Quaestor of this House which I feel is long enough, I would like to take the oppertunity to thank each and everyone of you for your support and your contributions to this House. You have made my job infinitely easier, so you have my appreciation. Few people of my position get the chance to pick their time to bow out, some are forced out, some have RL time constraints. I am in short very lucky.

My successor is Gaidal, he has been a keen student and I have instructed him over the weeks on the various duties. He is keen to assume the role and I ask that you serve him with the same dedication and loyality. Therefore that leaves an Aedile position open, if you have any interest in the position that I encourage you to submit your application to Gaidal being sure to send a copy to Sarin and Kir. More on that a bit later.

I will serve another week, so expect one last report from yours truely. Rest assured I have no intention of either going rogue or transfering to another Clan. Annoyingly Plagueis has become my home, despite my best efforts :P I will of course continue with the Plagueis Chronicle and hopefully be a very productive member.

Anyway, on with my report.

With the inevitable appointment of Lord Gaidal, that leaves a spot free! Applications are gratefully accepted. Simply send along your name and number so to speak to Gaidal and myself being sure to CC a copy to Kir and Sarin. The Aedile has numerous key responsibilities but essentially you need to be active and dedicated to this House. Regular reports are required as are regular flows of competitions. Naturally its essential that you work close with and for your Quaestor. We shall let this ride a week with a few to a decision next weekend. Good luck!

We are so nearly there I can taste the planet! Our new home planet is shaping up to be a very nice place indeed. I feel it combines the best ideas throughout the House. We're also lucky to have a range of talented individuals working on this project. Though there will no doubt be elements not quite to everyones tastes I think we'll be more than happy with the finished article.

I aime to have the whole project concluded within the week. We just have a map to alter and one or to final descriptions. Again I must thank the team for their fantastic work, good job gentlemen!

<table width="30%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="5" align="left"> <tr> <td></td> </tr> </table>

Just a basic reminder that I am seeking articles for issue 4 of the Plagueis Chronicle, our resident newspaper. There is a new section called editorials and is a chance for you to express your own views about pretty much anything. We also would love to see works of fiction, graphics, interviews, anything that takes your fancy. You dont need to ask permission or even be a member of the staff, just email your work and it'll be shown.

All your entries can be sent to: [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

I will now be accepting submissions for issue 4 of the Chronicle, I need all your work by the 28th January with the edition being released on January 31st.[Log in to view e-mail addresses]

Competitions are always being created and to get an up to date view of all competitions running through the Brotherhood feel free to visit the competitions page on the Dark Brotherhood web site. Here's the link: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/competitions.asp

<table width="29%" border="0" cellspacing="5" cellpadding="0" align="left"> <tr> <td></td> </tr> </table>

I suggest you all read the descriptions very carefully before entering. As well as fiction, graphical competitions there also gaming contests that you can take part in. They support a wide range of different platforms, anything from Xwings Alliance to Jedi Acadamy. Your all free to take part and its an excellent opportunity earn something called a Cluster of Fire, a special medal for MP (multiplayer events) I believe you earn one if you get either three losses or one win. For more information take a look at the ICTE web site: http://icte.starwarsalliance.com/

Finally there is something called the ACC, the Antei Combat Centre. In short it's a form of combat where each player takes it in turn to write what happens next in the fight between you and your opponent. A judge determines who wins based on the writing and on your character sheet. You can create a character sheet through the Dark Brotherhood web site, but full information can be viewed here: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/acc/

*Title: [CP {Kun's Requiem}] Word search! *

Requested By:

DJK Thran Occasus

Specifics:

I think that one of the easiest competitions to do is a word search. So, I will be releasing one word search a week for an entire month! Here's how it works: I release a sentance or Phrase. You find as many possible words from the available letters in the phrase. Each word is worth one point. Words that are Star Wars Related are worth 2 points. The person with the most points for each word search is the winner. The more words you find...the more points you get! With that here is the first one! "A new home is in order, let us depart!" find those words!

Start Date: 1/1/2006

End Date: 1/31/2006

Unit in Competition:

Battle Team Kun's Requiem

*Title: Forced Alliance *

Requested By:

DA Telona Murrage

Specifics:

Telona has challenged the members of the DB to find a rare lightsaber crystal she has hidden in the Underground Caverns. The only big catch is you must team up with another member in order to survive. The other catch is this will all take place in the Antei Combat Center so Telona can control the conditions. Expect her madness to shine through the obstacles ahead. Members will only have a short amount of time to find the crystal. Instructions! To participate in this event you must have a valid character sheet. No need to be a Seeker. Challenge your friend to fight in 'The KHP's Armed Hostilities' hall. If you do not challenge someone in this particular hall your battle will not count! You won't be allowed any weapons besides your own fists, wits, and the Force. Battles will be 4+2 so make them count! The best teams will win first and second place. You may only have one battle to try for placement. Your win/loss count will not change by participating. Challenges will start on the 1st and continue until the 20th. Battles must be completed by the 31st to be considered. There won't be any time limit on posts to allow for more thought out posts. Battles will be judged on continuity, creativity, team effort, and language. Deathposts will be a joint ending instead of separate endings. Above all, have fun.

For this MB thread, everyone (who wants to participate) should pick 2-3 names they like and post them. After 5 days I'll take those names, filter out any really really weird ones, and post them all on a poll for 3 days. Then we will keep voting down until we are left with 10. The members who suggested the names that are chosen will all recieve crescents.

Title: [CP HEK] 'Losing Elysian'

Requested By:

[DJK Gaidal Dupar al'Tor ](http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/dossier.asp?ID=4910)

Specifics:

While all members of House Exar Kun are preparing themselves to evacuate Elysian, the ‘Crimson Tide’ strikes back! Due to the charging supernova nearby, all personnel and Dark Jedi are on a tight time schedule and were not aware of the upcoming threat. Fact is that the pirates are not alone this time. Captain Calliban Crimson made an usual alliance with three sinister men, all with their own little private army and all with their own agenda’s.

The available sensors and scanners were off, because personnel were already packing all equipment. They attacked by full surprise. Not just a mere Dreadnaught appears out of the blue, but an Imperial Star Destroyer named ‘Nemesis’ is seen above Elysian this time. It is unknown for now what will happen next and what will be their plan of action. There are rumours about the identities of the allies of Crimson, who joined his ‘Pact of Accarr’.

The House stand for the impossible job to secure that all personnel, younglings and Dark Jedi make it off Elysian, while the orders from the Clan Summit are simple and clear. Make sure that to the ‘Crimson Tide’ no delays are accepted and that they should never have bothered Clan Plagueis.

  Start Date: 1/14/2006

End Date: 2/4/2006

Unit in Competition: House Exar Kun

Platforms: fiction, run-on

Awards: 4th level Crescents

Comments:

This is an important run-on competition which will guide our House from Elysian to our new home world. Therefore we (Godo & Gaidal) came up with a specific set of rules in this case:

  1. This is a run-on competition that will last for three weeks. This is a competition ONLY for HEK members. There is no sign up for the members and one may post as much as one wants.

  2. When you post it has to be around one page long, like in Word with size 10 Times New Roman. It may never be less than half a page or more than two pages.

  3. There is one main storyline, keep that in mind all the time! Additional storylines are always interesting, but only when they fit in the story and support the main story. Try to keep such side plots as limited as possible, because the main story line is very important and delicate. In case they do not, the post will be edited. Godo and I will always have to authorisation to edit posts, if necessary at all times.

  4. There are four most wanted criminals involved in this alliance. Please read their character sheets if you wish to use them in a particular scene. DO NOT make assumptions too fast, because in the end we (Godo & Gaidal) decide whether or not a villain dies. What we would like to see is that the participants try to use these villains and give them more depth. To try and make more out of them than mere fictional characters (NPC’s) to fill a story with a bad guy.

  5. Godo & Gaidal will post every now and then to fill the gaps in the story and lead you through the main plot. In order to easily write in this competition it is advised to read the run-on competitions ‘Crimson Tide’, ‘Return to Eden’& ‘Elysian Expedition’. It is also advised to read the profiles of the criminals in the ‘Most Wanted List’ on the forum.

  6. Remember that you are writing this story together, DO NOT cause anything horrible to a colleague writer of yours, when this person does not approve such action. Discuss this with one another to avoid problems in the competition.

  7. There are three medals that can be earned for a good writer, a better writer and the best writer. Godo and I will judge the posts together and will decide who deserves these medals. There are four major requirements: language, style, grammar & plot development. Every writer will be judged based on these requirements. We will also look at how often a participant came up with posts. In the end, one will be judged based on these two things.

*Title: {Plagueis [BT ES] } Unwelcome Guests *

Requested By:

DJK Aabsdu Dupar al'Tor

Specifics: While House Exar Kun moves to its new planet many of the house's members are living in orbiting ships. One small ship built for twenty is the current home of Battle Team Exar's Shadow, and Commander Aabsdu Dupar spends as much time as he can with his battle team helping them practice, joining them in meditation, or letting the younger ones fly the ship around a bit.

Many of the older members travel to the larger ships to talk with friends, but Aabsdu stays on their small ship, the Excavator, unless he is in a leaders meeting.

The house was doing fine as the prepare their new home until the radar picked up a small group of ten fighters just out of range of weapons or scanners. Godo Nurok and Gaidal Dupar decided it was easiest to send a battle team to discover what the small group was doing in the region, and they chose Exar's Shadow.

You are to write a fiction story (at least one page) of how we together or you alone travel to discover the secret of the ten unwelcomed guests. It's up to you on rather they're enemies, locals, or something else. Use your imagination, I love a good twist.

I'm cold, bitterly cold but I am trying not to let that bother me. I have to be careful, all it takes is one stupid false step and thats it, I'm a dead man! I creep oh so carefully along the poorly lit streets, using the jagged shadows and stray crates for cover. I hear footsteps. Using the rough stone walls, I press myself up against it tightly.

I hold my breath. Its one of the local guards, he's armed to and has the look of a killer in his eye. More menacing still is the sword he carries at his side, he hasn't noticed me...yet. Keep low, I slip behind the patrolling guard. He still hasn't noticed me. Wrenching my knife free of its sheath I prepare for the killing blow. No one will see this guard die in agony. But wait? I hear something. Like a whistling noise...shunk Dead. I am actually flippin dead! I was just hit in the back by a damned arrow. Sheesh. Tough city.

What we have here is an old love, Thief or more specifically Thief 3. Its one of those games you either love or hate. I for one love it, though hate the frequent amounts of times I die. Believe me, a first timer and even veterans alike will die, frequently. One of the first 'sneak em ups' I fell in love with it on the PC in the original Thief game. To me it was tough as nails, every door seemed to invite doom. Of course it proved a surprise to many, especially FPS fans who bought it with the same mentality in mind. What would that be you ask? Go in with guns blazing and slaughter your enemy by the bucketfull. Ha! Your barely a match for one guard, never mind a horde. And seeing you would be thief charge into a room full of guards, shrieking like a banchee, sword aloft only to perish in a hail of arrows or being well and truely smited by a righteous Hammerite (dont ask).

Perhaps the most shocking development this week, aside from my fequent death in some god(o) forsaken street is that my wife has been up to no good. Ah you ask, what could that be? Well I started up Sims 2 and created a character or sim in my own likeness. Whilst I was slaving away at work, my wife decided to start up her own character in the game, curiously in her own likeness. Then she made efforts to seduce my Sim in the game, and SUCCEEDED!!! I returned to my game to find my character living with someone who looked remarkably like my wife. More worryingly she had a suspicious bulge!?

With my curiosity peaked, I investigated these odd changes. It seemed whilst I attempted to get rid of a rather annoying customer at work, she had seduced my 'sim', moved in, gotten us married and even was expecting a baby!? I can't help thinking shes dropping a hint...hmm.

<table width="50%" border="0" align="center" cellspacing="5"> <tr> <td> **

Hmm, didn't see that one coming. Godo now has a mini-me! **

</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2">

</td> </tr> </table>

Only one more report till I formerly step down. My wife is already stacking up a backlog of unwatched DVD's with a certain amount of manic glee. Which basically means watching nonsense like Bridget Jones or 'arsey darsy' in Pride and Prejudice. Oh joy. At any rate it's been a very impressive week for activity, lots of medals and promotions being handed out. You too can get a piece of the action, simply take part and let us know what your doing. Till next week!

Your Servant,

Godo Nurok
