News & Information

</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Well, it's been a bit since my last report-doesn't mean I'm slackin'-I'm just not used to having to put them up on the MB :) Anyway, below is basically what's gone on since the last report....</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>The ACC History has been updated.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Four new combat styles were added to the Ground Combat section of the ACC Compendium.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>The Rite of Exaltation has undergone a renovation, courtesy of DA Halcyon.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>DA JaM3z has added three new Custom Slots to the CS's, so now-with the points that are available-you can add more junk....yay! No, you still don't get any more points for physical or mental attributes, those come with DB rank, not ACC rank.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>The Venue Guide has been re-structured. I've added some graphical representations of some of the 'main' venues and moved the rest to an 'overflow' section. As I get images done for the venues in the overflow, they will be categorized and moved to the 'main' section.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Dual Handedness **and dual weaponry** have been added as an option for combatants. For specifics, please see the Character Sheet Guide.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Training Sabres have been adopted by the DB, which means that they are allowed to be used in the ACC if you have been awarded one. For ACC Guidance, please see the Rules Supplement or the Lightsabre section of the Ground Combat Manual. You can also peruse the latest GM report.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>The Creatures addition is still in development, but its progress can be seen in the Creature Guide. We just have stats to do, CS's to fill out and the mail process to attend to. After which, it should be ready to go and you can start getting your butt whooped by some animals :)</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>The updates to the ACC Initiate's Course have been sent out and the ** Combat Learner's Course** is now in development, it should be coming soon.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>The CHL Final is underway between DA Corran Halcyon Arconae and KPN Muz Keibatsu Sadow!</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>The ACC's Bar Room Brawl is running (http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.org/dbjedi/acc/battle.asp?ID=3057).</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>

Some Other Items

</td> </tr> <tr> <td>

  • The ACC is part of the DB, in fact, the ACC is subordinate to the DB. We are merely an activity within the Brotherhood - 90% of what we develop or do goes through the DC in some respect. Therefore, your DB rank takes precedence over your ACC accomplishments in all instances. Furthermore, anything dealing with things like your 'class' are directly related to the DB's official policies. So, if you are a Journeyman, you are a Journeyman...even in the ACC.

  • Not everyone is cut out for writing, just like not everyone is cut out for video games. I set foot in games when I had a Clan that it mattered to and EVERYONE who has ever played me in XWA or JO (or whatever) can tell you that they got A LOT of wins off of me because I suck!!!
But I know I do! If you can't write - deal with it. If you are just not a writer, and we tell you you're stuff is 'less than good', it's not because we're mean or we have malicious intent, it's because you can't write...it's a fact. I would never roll into a gaming night and think I'm great when I know I suck - just like I would NEVER take it personally if someone I played related that fact to me, because I am fully aware of it. Now, if you've gone your whole life (so far) thinking you're an amazing writer, yet your told that your writing smells like the inside of a fake leg, then I'm sorry - but better late than never, huh? The ACC staff does what they can, but the fact is; we just don't have the time in a 4+2 or a 6+2 battle to teach remedial writing - if you don't have the basic chops, that's not the place to learn it. Training and Qualification are primarily for assessing your ability to incorporate the elements of Combat Writing as it applies to the ACC. Some may get better writing in the ACC, but only if they had the basics to start with.

  • Non-English speaking combatants - PLEASE SEEK HELP!!! The ACC staff may inadvertently offend you because of poor translation, it happens - but it's not something that can't be fixed. There are a bunch of folks in the DB who have English as a second language and they have adjusted fine. We do not 'know' that you're in that boat - so, either let us know and we can deal with it accordingly or seek the assistance from other's in the club. I don't speak sh*t - born and bred on English - American English at that - so, I have absolutely no idea what you're going through. Sure, I've been to the sandbox, to Europe, Asia and all of that - but that doesn't mean I know crap about the languages. If you're having a hard time with this "primary-English platform", then let us know before we hurt your feelings. We want you to have fun, but we need to know what tools you have.
