Update - Clan Scholae Palatinae Invitational Competition!

Below you will find copy/pasted info on the CSP Invitational Comp. Unfortunately, Mage has had to retire from the DJB due to RL issues, hich we won't go into here. Needless to say he will be very missed by all the DJB members who were lucky enough to have met him and worked with him.

Farewell Mage.

This competition will still continue, though it shall be controlled and run by JH Lorad Desmos. All submission should be sent to Lorad, cos he's cool.

Now go get sabreing!!!

That Cooch fella...

All right, kids, here's the scoop:

People in Clan Scholae Palatinae are starting to feel like we've left our lightsabers clipped to our belts far too much since we left the Emperor's Hammer. We want to stretch out our Force powers, and warm up our blaster bolt deflection skills.

Bearing that in mind, I, along with all of Clan Scholae Palatinae, invite you to the first annual Clan Scholae Palatinae Invitational Competition!

This competition will run the entire month of August. I will be the Adjudicator. Basically, anyone who owns Jedi Knight or Jedi Outcast can come into #scholae, make a match, and report it to me. Just for one single match (participation), you get a Quartz Crescent!

This massive competition is definitely worth your time. Here's a look at the prizes on the line:

Diamond Crescents x 4 (top player in each division x 2, winner of each elimination tournament x 2)

Ruby Crescents x 4 (2nd player in each division x 2, 2nd in each elimination tournament x 2)

Amethyst Crescents x 4 (3rd player in each division x 2, 3rd in each elimination tournament x 2)

Sapphire Crescents x 4 (4th player in each division x 2, 4th in each elimination tournament x 2)

Emerald Crescents x 4 (5th player in each division x 2, 5th in each elimination tournament x 2)

Topaz Crescents x 4 (6th player in each division x 2, 6th in each elimination tournament x 2)

WHOA!!! Do you see what I see? :P

Now, you're thinking, "But Mage, what's all this about an elimination tournament? I'm confused!"

Let me explain, grasshopper.

During the course of the month, as I said above, matches may be played freely. At the end, awards will be given to the winners in each division. In addition, anyone in the top quarter of the participants - that's 25% of the players in both divisions - is invited to a one-time elimination tournament, where they get a chance at a whole 'nother round of goodies!

To figure out who places where, the scoring system will work like so:

At the end of the month, all players wins will be divided by their wins plus their losses, giving them a win percentage. This percentage will be multiplied by the number of games the person played divided by 3. For example, DJK Joe plays 30 games throughout the month, and wins 20. His win % is 66.7%. He multiplies that by 30/3, or 10, for a total of 667 points. Bonus points may be awarded for regular participation, exceptional participation, or to those members who participate in matches involving more than 2 participants.

Pretty schweet, huh?

If you have any questions or concerns, please check out http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.org/dbjedi/competitions.asp?ID=22 for details (ignore the CF's under 'Awards'). If you still have questions, post them here in the comments, or email me!

Just so there's no rumors or confusion:

My girlfriend is in China on a 5-week vacation. Just before she left, her parents stopped agreeing to support her university education (including financially).

She's going to live with a friend, but she'll need money for accomodations and the vast sum that is tuition.

Until the two of us come up with that $6,000-some and both have long-term jobs, I won't have the time for the DB. If the chance ever exists, I'll come back, but I make no promises about when.

Thanks for the good times, people. I'm going to miss a lot of people, including friends like Sharad, Tarkin, Khobai, Redneck, Dagger, Morth, Halc, Mejas, Chi-Long, Trev, Yacks (when sober :P), all my old Galeres boys, anybody who has ever been a Clan mate, all the Council folks I've helped out (TT, CoFo, Ziggy, etc.), and tons I can't possibly list here. Good luck to you all in the future.

For what may be the last time,

  • Templar Mage

Magey!!! Dammit....hate to see anyone go out like this. Mage, good luck with all of that. I know how much pressure and stress that can be. If ya need help with anything, you know where to reach me. If it'll help though, you should look into student lines-of-credit from a bank. Sure, you'll be in debt, but it'll get you by for a few years before you have to worry about paying it back

Anyways, good luck! Hopefully you'll be able to come back someday, but if not, take care and try to stay out of trouble ;)

Thanks for that, Halc. I hadn't thought about checking out the student specials at our banks... there's a few that I can recall off-hand. Damn you and your always knowing stuff. :P

And they can't keep me out forever... >:P
