Quaestor Report

Hey all,

As you've seen in Anshar's last report and now on the roster page. Demos has become no longer able to feel like he can do the position of Quaestor justice and has decided it was best for the house for him to resign. Anshar appointed me to take his place, and I am very grateful for that. I know I've thanked you guys enough, but this is my chance to do it publically. Thanks. I'll do my best.

I will pretty much be doing the same types of reports I have been doing as Aedile, summarizing activity and such. There are some bigger issues at hand that I am looking into that I am asking for feedback with from the House, and I'll outline some of those here as well.

First of all, Merlance has been chosen to be the new Tridens Aedile, albeit an old one as he has held the position before. Merlance has done a great job keeping the clan trivia running and has a consistant presence on IRC. I'm looking forward to this leadership of the house. Something that hasn't been emphacized in the past, however, is the third prong of leadership: the rollmaster. My plan is to make it the rollmaster's job to send a quick weekly or bi-weekly note out to the house to remind everyone of competitions and opportunities for activity. This will just be a short note everyone will know to refer back to if they're looking for things to do throughout a week. Zekk is a great guy, and I'm sure he'll do a great job with this.

Some Tiny Changes

Speaking of Zekk, I am proposing a slight change to the house that I am looking for guidance with. This is the plan that I think will work best, but I want to make sure no one is offended or no one has a better idea. Currently, the Cestus Circle of the house has one member: Zekk. What I want to do is dissolve Cestus into Nightstalker so that we have a Gaming Circle and a Writing Circle. Each circle will be focused in those areas. While I do have a lot of old-school pride for orders, I see no point in separating Sith and Obelisks in our House if they could both benefit from single, strong leadership. With Merlance being the temporary replacement for Dranik as Nightstalker Commander, what I am proposing is for Cestus to be closed indefinitely with Zekk becoming the Commander of Nightstalker. Zekk has shown tremendous initiative with gaming, and I feel like he is a good go-to man to lead my gaming initiative for the House. This is just a small change that I think can have some large effects on the way our House games.

I want to hear back from people on this. Even if it's a small simple note about it being a good idea, I'll appreciate it. If it's criticism, I want that, too. Please, get in touch with me about anything. I have an open door, and I want to talk to each member about anything on their mind.

News

The new sabers are online as well as new robes. Woot! The sabers look good, in my opinion, and I've been having done fooling around with them. Robes are in a progression of filing themselves in as they enter different stages of completion. Muz is working really hard on these things, and I hope everyone takes the time to look around at some and appreciate them.

Competitions

This week saw the close of the Yridian Revolt Clan-Wide Competition. I think I can speak for all of us in thanking the clan summit for the hard work they've done running it.It really spurred on activity, and Tridens made an excellent showing in standings and awards. Lots of awards and promotions went out this week, and I'm very happy about that.

There are two writing competitions out right now with another VERY short and easy one coming up from me for everyone. Sephiroth's are geared towards writers. Mine will be for everyone to participate in and will probably be announced next week or later this week. Be on the look out for Zekk's first Rollmaster Competition Update and check the competition page of the Brotherhood domain regularly.

Dark Education

A few members took advantage of some Shadow Academy courses this week. Keep it up, guys. Academy exams are some of the most rewarding kinds of activity to do around here. They're personally enjoyable for me, and I think Tarentum really has a reputation to keep up with being so closely connected with the Academy. Here is the activity.

Revall, after transfering into us from the rogues, passed the AIM exam. Nice work and welcome! Glad to see you.

Sergeant also transferred in this week and passed the training saber exam. Great to see you, too. Hope to be in touch.

Szordryn passed the Test of Agility. Very nice work. I love seeing skill tests like these passed. These are easy tracks to promotions.

Milson passed the ACC initiates test not long after joing himself. Welcome and great job!

Askimiss passed Sith Tactics. Same thing goes here with the skill test. Keep it up, guys!

Elric passed the Sith ISET exam. Again with the skill tests. Great job, everyone.

Keep up the good work, guys, and if you're name's not on this list, make it a goal this week to take 10 or 15 minutes and just do 1 SA exam you haven't done before. I keep track of things like this and they will not go unnoticed.

Medals

Lots of medals went out this week after the clan competition ended. This just goes to show how great it is to participate in things like these and get involved. Activity is never overlooked by ever much higher echelons in the Brotherhood. These rewards are very telling of that.

Melkor earned TWO Crescents with Amethyst Stars for taking First Place in the 4th Writing Round of the clan comp as well as the overall Writing Title. Great job, Melkor. I hope to see great stuff from you in the future, and I know I can count on your activity.

Elric earn a Crescent with a Sapphire Star for nabbing Second Place in the Overall Standings of the Writing portion of the clan comp. Congrats and good work.

Sephiroth was awarded a Steel Cross. This goes to show that continued activity is appreciated and noticed by summit members, guys. Great job, man. Keep it up.

Merlance was also awarded a Steel Cross. Same goes here. Good job, brother.

Zekk was awarded a Crescent with Emerald Star for taking Third Place in the Gaming Portion of the Clan Competition. Great job, Zekk.

JKast was awarded Two Crescents with Amethyst Stars for taking First Place in the 4th Round and Overall Standings of the Gaming Portion of the clan comp, a Legion of the Scholar for writing last months trivia, and 8 Clusters of Fire for gaming night participation.

Excellent job, everyone. In the comp, we had 1st and 2nd place writing winners and 1st and 3rd place gaming winners from here in Tridens. That's 67% of the winners being from Tridens. Be proud guys, we did well. We will, however, continue to perform better in the future with more competition and entries from the house.

Promotions

This week also saw a few noteworthy promotions.

Zekk to Obelisk Exarch.

Elric to Jedi Hunter.

Melkor to Guardian.

JKast to Sith Warrior.

Congratulations, everyone. I am glad to see the membership moving up in the ranks.

Conclusion

I am excited to be starting to take actions as Quaestor. I hope I can do as great of a job as is expected of me and as you guys deserve to have done as members of this legendary and excellent house. Tridens is full of tradition of achivement, and I want to keep that up. I will do my best, I only ask for each of you to do the same. I am excited with the activity I see, and I want to see more. If you are confused about anything, want help, or anything, please do not hesitate to email me or get in touch on IRC. If you don't know what IRC is or how to get it, email me and we'll get you started. It is an important tool the Brotherhood uses to keep in touch and gerenally hang out. We have a lot of fun in #Tarentum, and it's open to anyone. It really helps with visibility, and increases your fun a hundred-fold.

I hope I hear from everyone soon. I have my email open most of the time, always looking for activity and always trying to think of new things to say. Keep up the good work, guys, and let's kick it into going better.

In Darkness,

SW JKast (Sith)/QUA/Tridens of Tarentum
