Recently we've had some issues with communication, specifically on the Googlegroup for the Clan. It is never wrong to ask a question or ask for help. However, there is a more efficient way to go about it. When you have a question, use your chain of command.

Consul

Proconsul

Clan Envoy

Quaestor

Aedile

House Envoy

BTL

Try working your way up the chain. Be mindful of the fact that these people volunteer their time to help other members, so don't give them attitude if it takes a few days to get around to you. Things like: work, family, emergencies, etc., often can and will interject into their activity here. But that's where the chain comes in. Your BTL is sick and gone a week? Ask the next person up the chain. Someone will get an answer for you.

But please remember to be polite and patient. The etiquette would be to ask small, simple questions of your BTL, House Envoy, or another member of your House or Clan. Larger issues you feel important to bring to the attention of the House Summit (Quaestor/Aedile) are fine, but try emailing them directly rather than over the House mail group. That way your conversation is private, and doesn't burden everyone else in the House with multiple emails shot back and forth. The same would apply for the Clan Summit (Consul/Proconsul) and the Clan mail group. Everytime you mail on that you just stuffed 70-something mailboxes with things that probably could have been handled in House.

Try using mIRC as well. This can be a great resource as not only will most of the chain of command be found on it, but your Clan mates as well will be there to help you out.

Do not in any way take this the wrong way and shy off of communicating. These are just some simple ways to more effectively obtain answers or help with your issues.

Now, all this being said, I would also encourage you to explore the DB sites on your own and find some things out for yourself. Simply by navigating the pages you can learn a great deal about how the club operates and the best way to fit into that operation and start having fun. Good places to start are the Codex, Shadow Academy, Clan Plagueis Website, Dark Side Compendium (our history).

Most of the recent happenings center around the GJW and can be read about on the DB's news page. This will account for the relative lack of activity elsewhere such as SA, ACC, Awards, etc. As far as what concerns HSK in the war, I'd say we could do more to participate given what I've seen come through my email. If you have the time, and can write a fiction, or do some gaming, please do so. Remember, even if you lose or don't place highly, you still earn points for the Clan. Your leaders are also aware of this participation and it will be remembered and rewarded. Please take this opportunity while we have it as these wars are few and far between.

Also a note on BTs: If you're seeking to improve yourself and aid your Clan, ask to be placed on a BT. This is a sure way to greater opportunity and advancement within the club. Only do this if you are serious about competing on behalf of the House and Clan on a regular basis.
