Time for another report of House Ludo Kressh's boss. :)
I had been quite busy with doing preparations for my trip to the USA and with evil contract stuff at my work. My company gave everyone a new contract with very weird conditions that are being checked by laywers and just today everything about this contract was cancelled again. One of our bosses stepped down. Wow. At least I got 3 weeks off now and its a good start.
And now back to the main part of this report.
Promotions
I recently talked to a relatively new member in the clan. He didn't exactly know what kind of cool different stuff he can do to get a promotion. I tell you there are more ways than just to look up the promotion guideline http://nagasadow.org/layout.php?cat=promotions and stick to only these rules here. There is more you can do!
My Aedile Malisane and I as the Quaestor don't go strictly by the rules. Those promotion guidelines are mere guidelines.
What else can you do?
Write a Star wars fiction, a poem,.. do images. Use your character. You can add non-real characters as long as you stick to the Star wars reality. We have a clan library where we love to add more stories.. poems.. images!
Send in that stuff to: [Log in to view e-mail addresses] and [Log in to view e-mail addresses] and your master if you have one. For all these kind of activities you can get rewards and a promotion.

The Activtiy Tracking Tool
Some of you probably wonder what happens with all those activities you do. You wonder how we know you are ready for a promotion. House Ludo Kressh has the Activity Tracking Tool.
It is a tool I programmed with mySQL and php since I was tired tracking all those activities in an Excel sheet. I sometimes lost that sheet, sometimes Excel crashed leaving me behind with a corrupted file. And the more informations, the more harder it was to format the file and find things.
But with this tool it makes it much easier. So what is the advantage for you? We can easily see when you are ready for a promotion. I discussed with some people and came to the conclusion that you also should be able to read this list.
You gain read-only control to seach this list. Currently only House Ludo Kressh members are tracked by this tool. A few activities from HMR members are listed, since some took part in a competition that were held in the whole clan.
Why can you see every member? Because this is not a show-off list, but it exists to add more transparency into the system. To make it easier for you to see where you stand with your activities - also compated to others. And to answer questions such as:
What have I already done?
Why did XYZ get a promotion and I didn't?
What more do I need to do for a promotion?
I want to add again that this is not a list made for bashing people with low activites. Some people joined the DB for merely having fun. They ocasionally want to play some games, talk to people. Their progress is naturally slower, still it doesn't make them less worth than other members!
What do I track?
judged ACC battles. I am getting emails about this. If you are an Apprentice, Novice, Acolyte please inform me if you start a match.

What do I try to track additionally? - constructive activities on the forum (1-liners, 1-word posts do not count)

And now it is also up to you to help me with adding activities from your side that you are missing.
You did signatures for DB members, you did gfx for the DB, you are taking part consistently for a period of time in the forums (like Runons).. all kind of this. Though don't ask me to add an activity for each post you done, or for posts that only contain about 1 sentence or just a mere word. You find a link in the footer of the activity tool to send in an activity to me and Malisane.
You may see incorrect data, missing data - hey, I am just a human. I am trying as hard as possible to keep this list uptodate as much as possible. Still some activities take about 4 days until I managed to add them. So be a bit patient. Currently I focus heavily to add the activities of the journeymen as quick as possible since their progress is much faster than of other people.

Emails and spam
I know some are annoyed at so many emails. Some love to communicate a lot. I am torn with this. I love people being active, taking part, shareing their thoughts with others. On the other hand it is annoying having daily about 60 / 70 emails (and some here have even more). And some of those emails only contain one word like "Wooohooo!" or "Great!".
It is just a kind request: try only to reply if you have a constructive contribution to the topic and if it fits to it. It is just a kind request. Please have in mind that there are members who's native language is not english and who have to translate each single email into their mothertongue. Imagine as if you have to read 60 emails a day in a foreign language.
And for those who don't use googlemail. You could switch over to googlemail. The advantage? You have a cool presentation of emails which makes them easy to read.

The first picture shows one threaded email with all replies. The replies are hidden except for the last one.

You can click on the hidden replies and then you can see who replied.

You can click on one of the names and then his /her reply is completely shown. The former quoted replies are hidden.

Now you can click on the hidden quoted text and it shows up.
All in all this is a pretty interesting way how to deal with a lot of emails. Still there are some features I am missing in gmail. It works differently than some other email services. Oh btw. googlemail also implemented a little chat-function. Pretty funny and useful tool to communicate.

Mononoke "Macron" Keibatsu-Goura got again a bunch of medals for Dark Voice articles: two Dark Side Scrolls. Additionally a Crescent Topas for making the third place for an article for the newspaper competition. (Congrats on your DSC Tribune spot, Mac!)

Last but not least, I got an Amethyst Kukri for the new clan homepage, my activity tracking tool, for offering help on a new library system for the DB and for programming a few search plugins for firefox to seach the dossiers of the DB. Yay, now I can replace my wooden letter opener with this ;o) . Thank you.
Shadow Academy courses:
I am glad to see that many people still do enjoy to do those courses. I even see older members doing them still. But don't forget, one day you have to start activities such as gaming, writing ficiton, programming, drawing, etc. to gain a promotion. ;o)
Character History

I suggesst you do this history when you are an e.g. Acolyte. This thing isn't easy to get accepted. So don't be disappointed if it does get rejected. If you need help, simply ask us. Write an email to e.g. your master / envoy,...We are there to help you.
