</td> </tr> <tr> <td> This Week: Consortium battle finally moves on!!!</td> </tr> <tr> <td> So those who have been involved, or keeping track, should be glad to know that - as of about 5 mins ago, the Bar Room Brawl has moved into Round 2. For those who don't know, the ACC's Bar Room Brawl is a 'test run' competition of a 'free for all' format in the ACC. It began with 32 fighters and has dwindled to 13 - still a rather large battle. It has been tough going, after all, it started back in February. With time-outs, the GJW, people drawing and that sort of thing, it has been really tough to manage - even for the participants. I asked a while back if anyone just wanted to scrap it - but those still remaining seem to still be up to the challenge - which is fine by me :) if the battle goes to completion, it will have easily lasted for over a year - perhaps the longest running, active battle ever? Right now, yes (8 months) - in the future? We'll see. Things I've learned thus far; 1) Start smaller. Maybe max out FFA battles to 10-15 fighters or get help running it if folks want a bigger battle. 2) Disable (somehow) the "draw" option for the battle. When a battle is drawn, all of the info in the comments section gets deleted - and no matter how much I ask them not to, folks still do it. That or 'relocate' the battle specs to someplace else and not place them in the comments section. 3) Devise a better "plan" for choosing a winning DP for the sake of the battle's continuity. If a DP addresses someone who has timed out (which happened because the timeout happened after the DP was posted) then it becomes difficult to do a 'fair' job of judging since the poster didn't know that the person would time out. 4) We're going to have to make a concession for rank/stat increase in FFA battles. If they go this long, folks will quit simply because they want to write in their new rank or perhaps not even remember what their stats 'used to' be when they started it.

Anyway, everything has been admined and the battle is active again and we're just working through the 'next round' glitches. I posted a 'round 2' post to try and pull everyone back to the same page - which I think is a good idea in these big endeavors - so, good luck to those who remain! </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Incorporating DB Award 'weapons' into the ACC</td> </tr> <tr> <td> The 'proposal' which I spoke of last week is just that - being able to use your DB awards, such as the SB, ED etc, in the ACC with some extra "bonuses" when in possession. The proposal was completed, blessed by the DGM and sent to the GM. The GM requested some minor changes, which have been made, and now we're just waiting on the final word from him or to see if he needs anything else adjusted. All in all, it should be a nice addition and knock the dust off of some of the things on your dossier :)</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> GJW: Fin</td> </tr> <tr> <td> The 6th GJW is over and the winners have been selected and all that jazz. In my opinion - we all should have known Tally was gonna win - they always do :P But I am most impressed with Arcona, which is only due to the grand history they possess coupled with the struggles they've faced over the past year or so. Kudo's to DJM Halcyon and the leadership of that Clan for getting yer folks motivated. I'm no longer in the game of putting any clans on a pedestal or under one. Even in fun it serves no purpose when you're a rogue and kinda sworn to B-hood neutrality - but it's just nice to see a positive effort from a Clan that was seemingly stuck in a state of perpetual schism. </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Clan Plagueis Competition</td> </tr> <tr> <td> Signups are open right now! Get with your PCON, read his news, pay attention! You can find the signups under the 'Ladders' link on your left after you log into the ACC. The Vendetta [VEND] rank is NOT allowed for Clan comps, so; if you're in qualification and a member of Plagueis - mail your ACC staff member and stress how important completion of your qualification is to you!!! You can't force them to 'speed things up', but maybe they'll give you a bit of grace if you approach them nicely :)</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> ** ACC Job Openings</td> </tr> <tr> <td> http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3318</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> **On Deck...</td> </tr> <tr> <td> On deck for me is a 4 day weekend - n00dge - so I'll be doing all the initial prep for the CHL and PCHL. Something I forgot last week was the next installment of an ACC course for the SA. Since the new site is done, and they just seem to be working bugs out, I suspect that they will be open to new courses soon - voila: The ACC's Combat Course. It is going to cover a lot of advanced writing tactics specific to the ACC, a lot more on character interaction and CS reconciliation as well as weaponry and all that stuff. The in depth-ness of it will be controlled by the SA staff, y'know - length and stuff, no one wants the equivalent of a 'final' for an ACC course - you guys get enough of that in RL :) But I will get as much 'good' info in there as I can. Have a great weekend!
