Quaestor Report – 16-9-06

Good morning to all members of House Acclivis Draco,

As you may know by now, I was appointed earlier this week as your Quaestor by our clan summit. Thanks to everyone who welcomed me into the clan, it is nice to be amongst such great chaps.

Most of this week was spent trying to familiarize myself with clan lore and the membership. I sent out an email inviting you all to email me with your hopes, interests and expectations. Quite a few gave prompt reply but I urge you who have not done so, yet, to do it. This will greatly help the direction I take this house and have it work in your favor. I cannot guess what you want and need.

I will be blunt: if you do not bother to write me a few lines to participate in house development when I ask for suggestions, do not expect to be taken seriously if you complain against decisions ONCE they are made.

As I said earlier this week in my first email to the clan, I’m an accessible guy, willing to listen and talk things through. What I failed to mention though is that I expect you to be active and participate when I ask you to. Being as active as a bump on a log, and then voicing your opinion when it is not time anymore, will not be welcome or taken seriously.

With that said, if a decision made does not obviously work for the clan and that I am emailed with civilized complaints and suggestions, then again, of course I will listen.

Personal events

This week has been extremely hectic and busy. As some of you may know, I’m a graphic designer. My company is currently setting up a show here in Quebec, which requires extensive designs, mottos, and a whole slew of posters, stands, and while doing those, my staff and I need to keep regular production rolling. In an average, I’ve worked near 13 hours a day this week. Its not a permanent situation and will settle in the upcoming week or two.

Still through that time I’ve made myself available and a few of you have already come to me with requests and suggestions. Thank you.

Clan/House events

With the recent conclusion of the GJW, I can expect you all to be worn and wanting to take a break. As such, you are invited to take part in the various lighter competitions of the club, show them that CSP is not dead yet and unaffected by our loss in the GJW.

Make sure to read through Ood’s Competition Weekly Volume 2 email, where he lists clan, house and DB competitions.

Yesterday was held the first clan trivia, which will, for the moment continue to be run on Fridays. Rasilvania has informed me that times are subject to change (and are actually planned to be modified at least to suit a great number of participants). Congratulations to Ood for running an excellent first trivia.

The Oscura Plan

While having read over the basic planetary system documents and having Rasilvania help me learn of things, There is still much I must learn of this clan, both in terms of lore and membership. So I still wish to take time to know and learn things before setting a concrete plan of action. As always, you are welcome to send suggestions for what you would like to see happen with the house to me.

In the upcoming days, I will be opening the first in a series of Character Development Competitions. This will be a serious competition, aimed to strengthen, flesh out and get everyone to know your own character. The first event will be db-wikipedia related event. Details on data, judgement and reward will be released with the opening of the competition. Keep a heads up, it will be a simple yet extremely worthwhile event, whether your character is fleshed out or not.

Conclusion

An other very active week or two are ahead of me. In the meantime I will be spending time to familiarize with the house, plan competitions, lay out possible changes and updates.

Thank you to Rasilvania for her excellent job as Envoy and Aedile. This girl has what it takes to be an awesome guide and leader.
