Herald Report

It's been nine months since I took the position of Herald. Since then, there's been a lot done. So, here's a quick debriefing:

• Warbanners - The project opened to the public shortly before I took the post, and the project has been chugging along at a steady rate.

• Training Sabers - revisiting a plan that had been started by Cyris Oscura, the training lightsabers were tweaked, and a policy for getting them on a Journeyman's dossier was created.

• Lightsabers - With the sexy new training sabers, people clamored for better sabers for those who had already earned the right to use 'real' sabers. To this end, a massive lightsaber renovation project came about, with the end result being a very cool user interface that allows a member to pick through a wide assortment of hilts and blade colours as they progress in rank.

• Custom Lightsabers - Custom lightsabers were always done rather informally. With the addition of a form to the administration pages of those members of sufficient rank, Custom Lightsabers became much easier to request.

• Robes - When the need to remove the existing robes due to legal obligations arose, a complex plan was devised to replace the robes. This plan grew in scope until it made it possible for some serious level of customizability for the members. Every Dark Jedi of the same rank was no longer forced into the same uniform as all the others. With the constant addition of additional sets and the unlocking of more sets at higher ranks, this project is constantly growing.

• Custom Robes - And, with the decision to permit Dark Council members the option to request custom robes, and the need for society-based robes, this project still takes up a fair bit of time.

And then there's all the other projects:

• Antei Fleet Manual

• Merach Planetary Manual (Taldryan's prize for winning the Se7en Day War)

• clan/house logo redesigns

• SA crest redesign and banner creation

• DC reorganization chart

• the occasional character image

• Blog - yeah, some people actually read that.

• Website: saber gallery, warbanner guide, and robes gallery

• Medal Images - I've redone the cluster of fire, the Seal of Loyalty, and did the seal of duplicity.

The interesting part is that I log the time I spend on all of my projects (I do a fair bit of freelance, so it helps with my accounting)...and a major milestone was just made the other day. I had just spent my thousandth hour working on gfx for the brotherhood yesterday. That's almost 42 straight days. I was kinda surprised myself, when I added it all together.

And my helpers have not been slouching either... they've all put in massive amounts of time to keep up with my insane pace. Shin'Ichi was largely responsible for the Warbanner project up until last week, when I took on Raven as a Magistrate and he took over that project. Shin's now working closely with me, learning the ins and outs of the massive robes and sabers systems I've implemented so far, bringing his own sense of artistic aesthetic to these projects.

Oh, and another note: this will be the 101st Herald report of this brotherhood.

And yeah, I know, you only read this for the clickage. So here: Coming soon...and so isthis.

There will be time enough for us to rest when we're dead. :)

Thank you for the report, and those robes looks cool ;)

if I'm not mistaken, that sequential films "A Lost Hope" was presented on the main board by Jac during the Episode III premier. Thats how I found Imitation Milk films all those years ago. Yet, as amny thousands of times I've seen that short, It never gets old.

The flash was alright. (now I'm just being a flash snob)...

Btw, thanks for the robes, sabers, and banners. Keep up the hard work.

When I started reading this and you were listing off the stuff you had done, I thought "Oh no! Muz is resigning!" but I am glad to see this is not the case. Keep up the good work!

The Obelisk Alchemist (wtf? :P) robe sets my loins afire. Nice work, Muz.

....Obelisk Alchemist? Since when? :P
