</td> </tr> <tr> <td> This Week: Telona Moving On!</td> </tr> <tr> <td> This week we bow to our friend and staff member, DA Telona Murrage. With over a year and a half of service to the Centre - and the Brotherhood, through her service to the platform - we bid her time, on 'active' duty, farewell. She will still be present in the Centre, moving to Magistrate (M:CM) to assist in a few things we need done. In addition, since she's so personable (:P), she will fill a role as a 'know all' liaison for the Clan Halls - apart from Halc and I, of course :P. So, thank you Tel for your hard work and welcome to the nightmare of admin :)</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> ACC Site Layout</td> </tr> <tr> <td> Yea - you might've noticed that I changed it again...yes, with no warning :P It's been sitting and waiting for a while, but with recent stuff that came up, I kinda had to get it up (the layout :P). I decided on a 'full width' layout instead of the centered column thing that the DB was famous for. Word hogs; yea - it makes your posts look shorter :P The staff comments I got were primarily focused on the new layout making things easier to read - which was my ultimate goal...as well as getting rid of that blasted transparency (sorry Cy) :) Some elements still need to be tweaked, and I'm getting to those as I can - but all in all, I think it was a good decision. As usual, I'll take any comments you have as well as the notes that tell me what links are broken or directed the wrong way - thanks to those who take the time to let me know; it just makes our product better. I also tweaked a bit of the code so Tarentum's Clan Hall isn't hiding anymore...didn't notice it was until someone told me :) See? I listen :P</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> The ACCLive! Tournament</td> </tr> <tr> <td> Round 2 is this weekend, Saturday and Sunday. The bracket can be seen in the ACCLive! Ladder sub-hall of the Live main hall, here; http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.org/dbjedi/acc/hall.asp?id=63

Just a couple of reminders:

  • Battles for the tournament are only counted on Saturdays and Sundays in #acc

One round per weekend (rematches due to unforeseen circumstances will be handled during the following week, before the next round begins, Contact Kat Pridemore) - Round 2 must be fought this weekend (Oct 14 & 15) For this round, the top member of each pairing on the bracket (the member literally displayed on the top of the pairing) is responsible for first contact to set up the match (the other can do it, but the top is 'responsible', it's best to CC Kat Pridemore when making challenges). - Members were mailed on Thursday to remind them.

  • If the fight fails to occur, the bottom member of the pairing wins by default, unless it can be shown that an attempt to contact was made and/or ignored (hence, best to CC Kat Pridemore when making challenges)

    • Concessions 'can' be made if fighters aren’t available on the weekend
    • but, as is noted above: make-up battles happen the week AFTER the Round; not before the Round even begins.
    • CF's will be awarded 'after' the entire competition is over
    • Fighters will not report their matches as normal

</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Championship Ladders</td> </tr> <tr> <td> The PCHL has been open for signups for two weeks, with 16 people signed up - now, signups are closed! As I wrote on the 1st of October; "Once I hit the number, they go - first come first serve! This won't be the time to 'wait around' if you want a shot at either title." The randomized ladder bracket can be seen in the ACC Championships sub-hall of the ACC Archive - or - the following URL can be used; http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/acc/hall.asp?id=72. If all works out - the battles will be started next weekend, and the journey of the next ACE will begin! Those of you who want the RoE, you have until WEDNESDAY ONLY (Oct 18th) to request it! Good luck. PCHL Rules: (can be seen in the ACC rules)

  • 72 hour post time limit

  • Post counts per round; (1) 6+2; (2) 6+2; (3) 8+2; (4) 8+2; (5) 10+2

  • etc...

</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> The 3rd Championship Ladder will be starting shortly after the 3rd round of the PCHL and the signups are now open! Yes, you can be in both. Yet another title bearing ladder of the Centre - and the only road to the Supreme Championship - you cannot win if you don't play; you cannot play if you don't sign up! This will shut down on you quick also, if you decide to wait around. I 'randomize' the ladders - all of them - so you needn't worry about who you may fighting when you sign up early...it doesn't matter. Get your spot now!</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> ACC Training Reformation</td> </tr> <tr> <td> _More to come... _This week I embarked on cleaning the ACC files, via the instruction and direction of the GM. I had no clue that there was a 'way' to structure code; not how to write it, but the way it "looks"; i.e. indenting lines of code, adding whitespace...that kinda junk. The DB has adopted a standard for this which can be seen in the Coding Practices document on the policies page (for those of you who are building stuff for the DB - good for you to know, if you don't already...it'll save you a lot of time later). As I explained to the GM, I 'think' I have a knack for layout - though my style might be a little boring - but that's about it. I'm cosmetic, I don't know anything about the "real" guts (yes, that means that anything I've brought to the ACC has sorta been out of sheer, dumb luck - LOL) - so, this is prolly going slower for me than it would for someone else. Okay, so, the point to all of this is; the adaptations of the Training Reformation won't be attempted until the files are 'clean' enough to work through - a decision of the GM that I fully support; after all, he's the one that's gotta do the coding. I'm doing my best and as we reach a better point with the coding stuff - the Training Reformation will get back on track.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> </tr></table>

<tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> On Deck...</td> </tr> <tr> <td> A coupla things...

  • I am trying to help GM Cotelin clean up the Centre's coding, so I have removed myself from INI challenges for the time being

  • Also, I am in PCHL/CHL mode now, which means I'm just about useless to the rest of you. The staff will need to pick up the slack so bear with them as they start to realize it :)

<p>pretty sure that's it for this week...</p> <p>DA Dalthid; Combat Master</p></td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> The ACC Staff</td> </tr> <tr> <td>DA Dalthid [CM]; 3/2003</td> </tr> <tr> <td>DJM Halcyon Rokir Arconae [DCM]; 9/2004</td> </tr> <tr> <td>DA Telona Murrage [M:CM]; 2/2005</td> </tr> <tr> <td>KE Nekura Manji Keibatsu [TRN]; 2/2005</td> </tr> <tr> <td>KAP al`Lan Mandragoran [TRN]; 4/2006</td> </tr> <tr> <td>KPN Seraine "Erinyes" Ténama [TRN]; 9/2006</td> </tr> <tr> <td>DJK Baron Zarco [JUD]; 4/2006</td> </tr> <tr> <td>DJK Rasilvenaira StormRaven [JUD]; 7/2006</td> </tr> <tr> <td>KAP Kat Pridemore [LJA]; 4/2005</td> </tr> <tr> <td>SW Shikyo "Rurouni" Keibatsu [LJUD]; _ 1/2006_</td> </tr> <tr> <td>DJK Menace [LJUD]; 3/2006</td> </tr> <tr> <td>SW Brujah Tamalar [JUD]; 8/2005 *extended LoA; est. return 12/2006</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>In Training*</td> </tr> <tr> <td>N/A</td> </tr>

You know, I don't get to spend as much time as I would like participating in the ACC, but I have to say I'm continually impressed by the level and quality of work by its staff.

I'm not sure if it's a recent change, or been there a while, but I just noticed the mouse-overs for the Force power abbreviations. Very nice.
