</td> </tr> <tr> <td> This Week: ACCLive! Tournament</td> </tr> <tr> <td> The tournament is heading into the Finals which will be a 2 out of 3 match for KAP RevengeX Palpatine and KPN Seraine "Erinyes" Ténama. However, I need to speak on the mechanics of the tournament without degrading what the two of them accomplished. This tournament was handled a bit differently than most, making a particular combatant responsible for setting up dates and times to play - a lot of folks didn't seem to understand what that actually meant and it caused some unnecessary headache on all sides. In the case of re-matches; (Some may take to heart the following, rest assured, you were not the only ones who were in this situation, so this is not "aimed" at you) Emailing an individual and saying "I can play any time in the afternoon, any day this week..." is NOT setting up a match. There absolutely must be some semblance of compromise, we understand that, but sending only one mail, like the above example, does not constitute an attempt to set up a date and time. It places the responsibility of picking a date and time on your opponent; normally, not a big deal - unless the competition is specifically set-up to make you the responsible party, as this particular tournament was. "He/She didn't contact me..." garbage was what this process was trying to avoid, and it did so with the majority.

In addition, the playing of matches, and their validity, only being on Saturday and Sunday gave folks very little choice as to what days they could play; in some respects it made it easier, in some harder when real life was thrown into the mix. 1 Round per weekend (for a tourney that could have probably been completed in a weekend) also had some people a bit frustrated...hate to say it, but that was part of my three-fold intent. 1) Giving players plenty of time during the week to set up battle times for the next weekend; 2) Having enough days between rounds to re-play battles without effecting the rounds and 3) Placing 5-6 days between 30 minute matches is an absurdly long time for 'git'er done' combatants, which was completely intended to make you wait :)

So why am I blabbering about all of this? Because we're going to keep doing it - the tournament, that is. As I mentioned in my last report, there will be a Live! 'title' coming and it will be based off of this very tournament format that we just did. We will make some changes to it, but nothing really major. CC'ing the competition coordinator in challenges and battle-set-up-dates, for example, will be made mandatory instead of a 'suggestion'. More info will be available once we get it hammered out - expect the next tournament (or at least it's info) in a week or two. </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> PCHL/CHL</td> </tr> <tr> <td> The 1st round of the Piloting Championship is almost over - we had our draws and time outs, so the field should be set. As I keep telling people, the time-outs are normal, but they do burn my butt a little bit sometimes. I had a battle go to judgment in this PCHL that really made me feel for the loser - he faced a tough opponent, but at least he tried. A loss is a loss, to most, not continuing is not continuing, there's no 'grey' area in a ladder; unfortunately, this combatant's efforts are reduced to ash when compared to those who didn't even post - he's in the same boat; a loss and unable to continue - it's almost not fair. So, DJK Malevolent Blade, while you lost your battle - you lost it well; you made an effort, which is far more than can be said for those who timed out. It's folks like you - those willing to try - that make these things worth running. Sure, there are some that just "walk" through theses ladders in it's beginning phases - but losses like yours mean more to the process than their easy wins. Don't be discouraged, your time will come.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> The signups for the Championship Ladder are to 28 people as of right now - that means we need 4 more with not much time left. I told you that we were looking to start the CHL on or around the 3rd Round of the PCHL. Well, if the 2nd round is almost ready to start - the clock is ticking. This may be the last CHL of this format; possibly your last chance to get in on the 'easy' process before the new format kicks in. Remember, titles are 'earned' in the ACC - they are earned by playing and winning; whatever the cost. You can't win if you don't play and you can't play if you don't sign up...are you the next Champion?</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Clan Competitions</td> </tr> <tr> <td> Clan Arcona and Clan Plagueis both completed competitions in the ACC this week. They had their bumps and bruises, which will prove to make their future endeavors more successful. As with the ACC competitions, the point is that they made the effort - we hope to see more of them in the future. I have come to realize that the Event and Competition guide is quite the bundle of jibberish to some of you - sorry 'bout that. It's hard to try and write guidance for those who 'don't' know when the writer 'knows' what he/she meant to say. So, that is getting re-written as we speak. Nothing really in the process will change (save a few adjustments), so I'm sure Jac will keep his 'Darth Hancock' of support on it, I'm just gonna tweak out the verbiage for clarity and kill some of the indecisiveness. </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> </tr></table>

<tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> On Deck...</td> </tr> <tr> <td> Once the CHL is underway, preliminary information will be released for the next ACC Cooperative Event. For those who don't know, this is a 'team' event, you can partner up with whomever you want and you will write and fight "together". Those who've been tracking the ACC stuff for awhile may note this co-op as 'familiar'; it got sent to the back burner last year due to time, but is now going to run. This co-op, unlike the previous ones, will be a 3 fold competition in the ACC - piloting, ground combat and multiplayer (2v2). Each 'phase' will be autonomous, with awards for each as well as overall's for the comp itself - yet, each 'phase' will follow a single story line. So, for you 'fiction/story-line' junkies, you'll have to stick with the same opponent to get your fix :) I caution all of you - if you want to win, be wary of your team-mate. Picking your friends is okay and welcome - but if they are prone to timing out, you both lose; choose your team-mate wisely. You will all need to be CL:1 or higher to play - so, if you're not qualified, get on it :)<p> </p></td> </tr> <tr> <td> <p>DA Dalthid; Combat Bastard</p></td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> The ACC Staff</td> </tr> <tr> <td>DA Dalthid [CM]; 3/2003</td> </tr> <tr> <td>DJM Halcyon Rokir Arconae [DCM]; 9/2004</td> </tr> <tr> <td>DA Telona Murrage [M:CM]; 2/2005</td> </tr> <tr> <td>KE Nekura Manji Keibatsu [TRN]; 2/2005</td> </tr> <tr> <td>KAP al`Lan Mandragoran [TRN]; 4/2006</td> </tr> <tr> <td>KPN Seraine "Erinyes" Ténama [TRN]; 9/2006</td> </tr> <tr> <td>DJK Baron Zarco [JUD]; 4/2006</td> </tr> <tr> <td>DJK Rasilvenaira StormRaven [JUD]; 7/2006</td> </tr> <tr> <td>KAP Kat Pridemore [LJA]; 4/2005</td> </tr> <tr> <td>SW Shikyo "Rurouni" Keibatsu [LJUD]; _ 1/2006_</td> </tr> <tr> <td>DJK Menace [LJUD]; 3/2006</td> </tr> <tr> <td>SW Brujah Tamalar [JUD]; 8/2005 *extended LoA; est. return 12/2006</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>In Training*</td> </tr> <tr> <td>N/A</td> </tr>
