</td> </tr> <tr> <td> This Week: Eraser Competition</td> </tr> <tr> <td> The signups for the Eraser Competition are open! You can find the competition details here: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3598 There are 18 members signed up so far. To sign up use the "ladders" link on the left-side menu when you're logged in to the ACC. The "ladder signups" is the easiest way for us to handle signups - but this competition will not be a ladder, so there is no specific number of participants needed. Once signups are closed, I will take the signups and make a list like this example (incidentally, these are the first 7 who signed up): Ood

Baron

Telona

RevengeX

Rasilvenaira

Lex

Maron

This is just a list of all the fighters who can be challenged; the "pool" or "static list" for the competition. So, lets say Ood wants to challenge someone. He will have to challenge someone with equal or greater losses than he has; in this list his options are RevengeX, Rasilvenaira and Lex. The signups will close on the 22 of November, this Wednesday and the comp will start on the 25th, Saturday. Just to clear up any confusion - these battles are all "regular"; there is no restriction on weapons - apart from what you have skill in, you will challenge each other as you would for a 'regular' battle and they will be rated the same as well. This also means that battle options, the RoE, handicaps etc are NOT off limits - feel free to request any of the ACC's 'extras'. </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Bar Room Brawl Thingy</td> </tr> <tr> <td> I have read through Round 2 and have contacted the fighters. All have requested that the battle continue. So, I will read through it again and select the winning deathpost(s) and move the battle into the next round. I'm taking my time with this, so if you're participating, just take a breath and relax :)</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Staff WoopeeDoo!</td> </tr> <tr> <td> Kat Pridemore was elevated to the rank of Krath Epis, huge congrats Kat!!!</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Species Stuff and Future Plans</td> </tr> <tr> <td> There's no doubt that there are a bunch of species in the SW universe that have special abilities, hell - apart from humans, they all have something 'special' about them. It's not very often that there is flat-out information, sourcebooks or not. I love the amount of SW fiction that's out there - but the fact is, we don't use it. The reason for that is availability; i.e. the novels and comics are not available to every person in the ACC - hence, their ability to 'fairly research' is limited. Often times we go with what can be found online in places like CUSWE and the SW Databank - but that leaves us to 'interpret' information that can sometimes be vague or inconclusive. So, if we come across an issue, we will do our best to interpret available information and how it can be used in the ACC. Gen'Dai is a great example because of their regenerative abilities and there has been issues with the 'viability' of this trait in the ACC. We will absolutely NOT disallow it, that would be retarded - but we "may" put a duration on it if it is not implicitly addressed in our available information. For instance, we will concede - without conflict - that Gen'Dai can regenerate body parts, but we will definitely say that things like a fighter's well being, their mental state and the ensuing scenarios will play a factor in their body's ability to handle regenerating. In all matters though, the decisions of the CM and the DCM are bond. However, we do realize that not everyone is privy to decisions we make concerning species traits - so, for your reference, I will be creating an 'addendum' to the Species list that will note decisions we have reached on the use of particular species in the ACC. It is VERY important that you remember; we are NOT attempting to 'write' or establish canon; merely elaborate on vague information and/or establish uses for the ACC. If anything in this addendum is contradictory to what you can show proof of (from a viable source) you are encouraged to present such information to us. We want to remain as true to the information as we can while helping users of these species gain a realistic foundation from which to write.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr>

</tr> <tr> <td> On Deck...</td> </tr> <tr> <td> We have 2 CHL's running and the Eraser comp on the way - that gives us '3' fairly good comps already in progress...a sign of things to come. Once the training reformation is released, that's what 90% of the ACC will become - DB wide competitions, are you excited about it? I am :) But I have been thinking about "how" we do these things. Signups are all well and good, but we need a few 'perpetual' comps for folks who might miss the 'signup' boat, that is, competitions that are just 'always' running, apart from a signup phase. We are working on that, in part, with the new CHL format - but I will try to expand that into other stuff too.

The Cooperative event is coming - AFTER both CHL's are done and we have a little breather. So please, don't send me your teams now - I'll just forget or delete them and then you'll have to do it all over again anyway :)
