DJB Wiki Tribune Report – Dec 2006

Since the public launch of the DJB Wiki, information has been building at a steady pace, but we seek to change that. We encourage all members to take the spare time they accumulate this winter and spend a bit of it working on the Wiki in some way. Building up your character page, adding to your Clan, House or other pieces of DJB Lore is greatly encouraged.

There’s something I’ve needed to say to a great number of people lately, and I figure I’ll just blanket it across the entire membership here in my report:

The Wiki is not mine. I don’t own it. I just watch it for the DJB. I make sure people don’t go screwing it all up. I may get obsessive about the formatting or content on there, but you’re always free to add whatever you want. We may take liberties with restructuring, reformatting, or in some cases flat out removing what you put in. Don’t take it personally. We’re just trying to keep it all uniform.

  • Entries for every medal in the DJB have been recently added.

  • Articles for the Order Of Battle² have been cross referenced.

  • Articles for Medals² have been started, though my review of them revealed a few isses that needed to be addressed.

  • Character Bios and other articles have been linked¹ to their appropriate Clan/House categories.

  • Succession Boxes have been coded. I noticed them thanks to Xanos.

Congratulations to ¹ Tron and ² Korras for their awards form working on these projects. Aside from the massive article linking, Tron has made over 1,500 edits. This exceeds my own by a few hundred, and is more than a majority of the users combined.

If you’re working on an article, please make sure you read through your work using PREVIEW BEFORE submitting it as a change. I’ve been seeing countless entries minutes apart usually a couple dozen at a time – each one being a quick formatting or spelling fix. If you review the work in PREVIEW mode, you’ll avoid posting and re-editing (and avoid leaving about 30 history entries). I know I’m guilty of it (click Submit only to find a glaring typo as you review the finished article) but I’ve seen a surge of multiple re-edits occurring minutes apart lately. Use the PREVIEW.
