Aedile Report: State of the House

Now that I’ve all settled into the Aedile’s office (and a cushy office, it is. My predecessor must’ve loved luxury :P), I believe it is time for my long-overdue, and first, Aedile report :P

Overall:

As said, I’ve mostly taken my time in settling in, doing a few projects on the side (such as the Training program, which I hope can help achieve some measure of excellence on the part of the Clan).

Second, The RoS! It is gradually nearing us, and given our participation levels at the Feud, we should do quite well indeed…we shall be facing better foes than the Squirrel-mongers, of course, and many more. But then again, that only means a target-rich environment, full of innocent little n00bs to devour whole before our collective might. :P

We have a few days left, and I suggest we all take a bit of that time to relax. Come on IRC for a bit, get psyched up and ready, perhaps think of how much you’re going to pwn. The downtime is short, but I know you guys will do us all proud.

And now, on to the body of the email, with medals etc. for last week. As Mal takes care of the important stuff in his QUA report (scheduled for tomorrow), it is up to me to provide you with the obligatory list of ‘things everyone does to show they pwn’. :P Hence the 'State of the House' for awards and promotions are truly what shows the Clan's activity.

Medals Awarded:

Crescent with Ruby Star awarded to OT Malidir “Popeye” d’Tana, for his work during the fifth battle of the ORW, reaching second place overall for the round.

Crescent with Ruby Star awarded to KE Vassan Rokir, for winning the February Monthly Topic.

Crescent with Emerald Star awarded to OP Sashar, for winning Rho’s excellent “Who’s caption is it anyway” competition.

Crescent with Topaz Star awarded to JH Earnest, for earning a second place on Rho’s “Who’s caption is it anyway” competition.

Crescent with Quartz Star awarded to OT Malidir “Popeye” d’Tana and JH Etah Araya for tying on Rho’s “Who’s caption is it anyway” competition, both earning a third place.

107 Clusters of Fire awarded to OT Malidir “Popeye” d’Tana, for matches played in the ORW.

36 Clusters of Fire awarded to DJK Zandro Savric Erinos for matches played in the ORW.

Nice work, all of you. This only showcases just how much potential we have as a clan…if a mere 5 members can earn over a hundred awards together, how many can we win if all sixty of us decide to go to town and kick ass?

Medals Pending:

As the more astute -and when it comes to the shinies, who isn't astute? :P- among the membership have pointed out, the Feud awards are yet to be awarded. I understand many of you are impatient…heck, I’m impatient to get them. However, both of our Fiction judges have been busy, and both of them have gone on LoA.

Results, I hear, are coming very soon (possibly with the next CON report) but until then, it is difficult to gauge what everyone has done, or how to properly award it.

Also pending are the awards for my own fiction competition, and Orv’s Crypto-comp. In the first case, this is mainly due to having them denied once (technical error). In the second case, a slight mistake was made in authority of whom should award and as such the awards were delayed.

Rest assured, you will be seeing your rewards in this report –not to mention your inboxes- within the week, and quite likely within 24 hours.

Promotions:

Zandro Savric Erinos was promoted to Sith Warrior

Rho d’Tana was promoted to Jedi Hunter

Juda was promoted to Novice

Congrats on all of these promotions. They were well-earned, and often took quite some time to gain. All of these members are also great to be around, active, and helpful. I hope to gain the opportunity to recommend more promotions…it would mean having more people like these :)

SA Courses Passed and ACC Qualifications:

Xander Drax has passed: History of the Sith Empire I, History of the Sith Empire II, Starfighter Tactics, Astronomy, Capital Starship Studies, AOL Instant Messenger

Juda has passed: Test of Wisdom, History of the Sith Empire I

Good job to both…learning stuff is a good thing. Special congratulations to Xander, who seems determined to know everything about everything in the shortest amount of time, and flood my inbox with graduation mails in the process :P

Also, this would be a good time to remember that those who wish to participate in the RoS might want to try qualifying now, before the RoS starts.

Transfers:

The week has been quiet on this front…which, given the last flurry of transfers, is probably a good thing. :P

No one is in, and no one is out…yet. I stress again, please reply to the AWOL check, or speak to me at IRC. That way, you can be ensured of remaining in this house, enjoying your to time online, etc…there are no more than two days left, and it would be a shame to leave before the RoS.

As-is, our roster simply stands at 59 members. Let’s hope it stays that way :)

In closing:

Let me just reiterate about the RoS…we are going to kick ass anyway, but the question is: how much ass? As we are, we will do good. But, if we turn fully active and ready, we are going to do better than just ‘good’. We are going to do great.

Therefore, two messages for today:

One is simply: go forth and pwn! We are among the Brotherhood’s best…it is time to give Taldryan a rude awakening to tell them they’re no longer the Brotherhood’s number one ;)

A second, for those that don’t do so already: log onto IRC every once in a while. #Arcona is a great place to chat, ask for helped, and otherwise get psyched up and ready for the RoS. Just showing your face every once in a while will do loads of good, and improve your standing in the eyes of your superiors. After all, we are here for fun…and the greatest fun within Arcona are its members, and interacting with them.

In Darkness,

KAP Timeros Caesus Entar.
