Welcome, all, to what is the first of a series of reports that address whats going on in and around House Galeres of Arcona.

As you follow along with later editions of my reports, you will no doubt find that I will craft them to come off a bit more

opinionated than many other official House/Clan reports. There are reasons for this, however most of that rhetoric will not be

present in todays installment. No, today we are here for a few important reasons, first and foremost. Rather than waste

everyones time, lets get right down to business. Oh, and dont eat undercooked chicken if you can help it.

QUICK Bio on Malidir

Ive been in the DB for almost a year and a half, I hang out on IRC a lot, I play games more often than I do much of anything

else, although I do some writing and some hideous-looking but often funny graphics. I enjoy sarcasm, quick wit, blowing out

other peoples candles to make the candles in Galeres shine brighter and long, deep, slow kisses with hot sexy women that last

for hours. I came into the DB in Galeres, and doubt that Id ever leave it any time this decade. I abhor kiss-ups, people who

whine for no tangible reason and those who think that judicious use of kneepads = medals and promotions. My door is always open

for any questions or comments, no matter how mundane or banal they may be. I dont believe in stupid questions, only stupid

people. Those people reside in other Clans, not ours, so there is always that to be thankful for.

General News

Most of the highlights here can be viewed on the main DB site, but I want to share a few highlights with you all:

Our fearless Aedile Timeros is currently running an AWOL check. Please take a few seconds and report in to he and I. Just check

your inbox, its really easy.

Rite of Supremacy starts tomorrow. More on that later.

Great Jedi War starts after that ends. More on that later.

Our former Consul Halc is now the Deputy Grand Master, with Kraval Novir taking over the MAA reigns.

Eclectic Pedagogues sought for the Test of Endurance and Meditation. Apply if you want.

Malisane named Knight Commander of the Brotherhood, replacing Siyavash.

DJM Dalthid, head of the Antei Combat Centre, writes and submits more reports than probably anyone else in the DB. I only

mention that, since its a pretty cool thing, worth calling attention to.

Our own KE Vassan Rokir won first in the February Monthly Topics. W00tage!

Tyno from CSP rocks the ORW. I couldnt carry his jock with a 20-ton dump truck. Which is cool, since were all on the same

side of that event and his opponents cant hang. Keep the pwnsauce coming, T-Diddy.

Since the super sexy Timeros already addressed most of the activity from Galeres in his recent super sexy report, I only have a

few super sexy things to add, as a direct result of our super sexy performance in the recent feud with the non-so-super-sexy

showed how Arcona rolls. Arcona rolls right up over the competition. But we all have to remember that its not the results that

count, but rather the fact that we had fun being active and doing what we could. Right. Moving right along. Oh yeah, more

shinies will be coming down the pike for excellent achievement. Wait for them, salivate over them, then once you have them,

savor them.

Rite of Supremacy

The Rite of Supremacy that is starting tomorrow has received a fair amount of press in recent days. A flash video was crafted

for it (actual two vids), newsposts have been devoted to promoting it and, most recently, our own CON has alluded to some

details in his last report. Let me try to boil it down to a few essential and naked details. It will be a two-week long

extravaganza. There will be writing. There will be gaming. There will probably also be ACC and graphics. There will also

probably be something completely different from the norm, in order to shake things up a bit. Its Arcona versus everyone else.

This will be the first RoS that Ive participated in, so I dont have any tangible past experience to share with all of you

eager minds. What I can share is my experience in general competitions, which amounts largely to this: participate,

participate, participate and participate. Being the best at a given discipline, such as ACC or writing is really awesome, but

for all the rest of us, we can only prevail be throwing ourselves at as many events as we can and giving each one our all. We

can do this, if we work together. A successful House or Clan is NOT made up of one, two or three good people, but rather a

larger group of active members, who all make a choice to participate and do what they can. Thats all I want to see. Activity,

and good efforts from as many people as possible, in as many events as possible.

Great Jedi War

I did some stuff for the last Great Jedi War, so I can offer a little more information here. Last year, there were over twenty

events for people to participate in. This one will be a bit shorter in duration, about a month, and will likely have fewer

events, though still comprised of most of the typical disciplines, like writing, gaming, ACC and graphics. The GJW is a

fantastic way to make a name for yourself, both within Galeres and Arcona, as well as within the Dark Brotherhood as a whole.

The same basic principles apply, namely activity and perseverance. Just about everything else in the DB grinds to a halt during

the GJW, with all the focus being shunted into the War. Our opponents are the same as in the RoS: Taldryan, Tarentum, CSP, Naga

Sadow and Plagueis. Six total competitors, and in the end there can be only one winner. Arcona did well last year, with Galeres

leading the way. Since that time, we have both lost and gained some good people, but show hasnt just gone on, it has thundered

on! Strategos was absolutely correct when he said that it is the biggest, most important, most cataclysmic period the DB can

possibly go through. The kid gloves need to come off for this one. If we want to win it all, and Im quite sure that we all

do, any time that you can devote to the cause will be welcomed, relished and rewarded. Rewards are one thing, but there are

multitudinous reasons to get into the fray and help out.

Do it for the rewards/medals/promos, thats all good in my book, if that is what motivates you.

Do it for your Battle Team, House or Clan, and the bragging rights that pwnage will reward you with.

Do it for a higher power, be that power in the form of God, Jesus, Allah, Muhammad, Jehovah, Yahweh, the holy trinity, the Holy

Grail, L. Ron Hubbard, Tom Cruise, Ally McBeal, Odin, O.G. Henny Loug, Zeus, Bootny Lee Farnsworth, Jupiter, Atum, Thoth, Amun,

Sol (the sun), Carl Sagan, Boten Anna, Stephen Hawking, Charles Darwin, or whatever/whomever else you want to dedicate a great

outing to.

Just do it because Arcona rocks and other Clans smell funny. I rather like this reason, personally.

Closing Arguments

Yes, our feud win, RoS and GJW are the main focal points of this report. However, I wish to call attention to the recent

promotions received by Zandro the Bard, Rho the Prophet, Kieran the Pugilist and Juda Ben-Hur. Great work, fellows, now go buy

us some adult beverages! Also, there will soon be a "Galerian of the Week" nod, an idea largely pioneered by your utterly

fearless Aedile. Until then, drink to excess, eat to excess, forget about sleeping for the next six weeks and help contribute

to the cases of pwnsauce that will be required to win the days against these other Clans, if such can they even be called.

Always remember that Popeye loves you (in a strictly non-gay way, sorry).
