</td> </tr> <tr> <td> This Week</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> RoS Shizznittle</td> </tr> <tr> <td> Rules - the rules for the ACC event cover pretty much everything, and what isn't laid out word for word is covered by the regular ACC standards, so all of it is covered in one form or another - this includes win/loss scoring, participation, weapons, challenging, venues, post counts, post times etc. </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Now, I need to go into potential a$$ mode here for a few things...</td> </tr> <tr> <td> 1) If you don't read the rules, especially in instances where items are clearly covered, do you think we're gonna bend? I don't think I need to answer that.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> 2) As can be guessed from the last billion comps or so, we use 'canned' (pre-written) intro's. Sure, it's a bit lazy, but it gets the battles out quicker - and no matter what we write, the venue is the venue, the weapons are the weapons, the fighters are the fighters etc. With that being said, 'canned' intros allow us to simply 'plug in' the info - copy/paste; to wit, there are very few instances where that can be screwed up. So, if your weapons end up being "Your Weapons or Decline Reason" (i.e. you didn't put weapons in), then you're gonna be unarmed for the battle, plain and simple. We can't copy/paste what you don't provide. So, what happens? Nothin - your character is unarmed, the battle still happens - its not the end of the world. What you shouldn't do is start sending me mails claiming "I specifically remember putting 'whatever' into the text box..." - well, you obviously didn't; deal with it. I, personally, have no affiliation in a DB-wide event, my loyalties lie with the Centre (despite what some of your sewing circles think) - I'm not going to purposely f*k with your battle just for the heck of it - I apply what you provide (unless you're not qualified or there's handicap, of course).</td> </tr> <tr> <td> **3)* I'm gonna drop a couple names here; Malisane and Koskian. These guys had easily correctable f-ups with opting out. They hit "accept" on the challenge by accident. So, what did they do? They immediately mailed us and said so. Holy crap Dalthid, you mean they actually communicated and didn't just go into an IRC channel and complain? Yep - it's true, there are actually 'adults' here :P LOL. So their battles were easy to dump because even though they put a decline reason where their weapons should have went, they followed it up with an email just to be sure; it was a no brainer. So - if you are opting out, but you speedbump yourself with a wrong click of the mouse - just mail us; we're not going to "force you" to fight or incur an automatic loss. However, if you accept battles and then try to decline - without the prerequisite "5" - that's a completely different matter.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> 4) The 72 hour challenge accept or decline. As noted, this has to be brought to us for it to count as a loss. That is, if you challenge someone and 72 hours expires before they accept or decline (provided the individual has not opted out), then tell us. I have all the challenge mails, I know who challenged who (or 'whom', I can never remember that); but I'm not gonna play detective - these are 'your' points, not mine.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> 5) Just to answer a question: No. There are NO participation points for the ACC portion of the RoS.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> 6) A slight bit of confusion with who is allowed to challenge - that's my bad for the language as it seems to contradict itself (though it did go through everyone and no one said anything :P) Basically, DJK's and above will be challenging each other (for the most part), not challenging JH and below. That DOES NOT mean that DJK+ can't have a battle with a PRT; it just means they can't challenge them. The INI-JH folks must do the challenging in that regard. A couple of folks just go through the opponents list and start challenging - without paying attention to the rank. It's a pain in the arse for us, but not really a big deal. We know who was the challenger by the way the queue displays the names; so if it was a 'bad' challenge, we'll just decline it. However, if the battle gets opened by accident, we'll just delete it - no harm, no foul, no win, no loss.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Old challenges: **If your personal queue has 'old' challenges that were never declined or accepted, then you will be prevented from challenging that person again for as long as the challenge is there. I have gotten with the powers that be to clean those out, making a note to make that SOP before DB-wide comps - but in case that doesn't get done ASAP - here's a bit of policy. If you CC Brujah and I in a communication to an individual, with something like "hey - I'd like to challenge you for the RoS, but that old challenge won't let me. Please decline the old challenge so I can challenge you for this competition..." (or something like that), then we'd be hard pressed NOT to honor it as a request for this RoS. With that, it might be subject to the 72 hour reply time and, while they're ducking your attempts, you may still squeak the points out of it while they incur the loss - basically treating it as a declination. It would absolutely be case by case basis - but it doesn't hurt to give it a shot.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> **Lastly: If there's something you just don't get - please ask! The ACC regulars know most of the drill, needing to only wrap their heads around the non-standard stuff. The newer folks, on the other hand, might easily be getting lost as the rules just "look like" a lot of stuff and are maybe a little intimidating. Ask your Clan, ask me, ask Brujah...whomever; mistakes that could have been avoided will effect, not only you, but your Clan.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> CHL</td> </tr> <tr> <td> DJM Halcyon Rokir and KE Nekura Manji are paired off in the finals, but we are allowing a delay for the RoS.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> The RoS...</td> </tr> <tr> <td> duh...</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr>

Just had a ‘points’ question: “If they decline without opting out, how many points do I get (if any)?” the answer is, none. Victims of a declined challenge (opting out, notwithstanding), don’t get points awarded to them, instead – the Clan of the person who declined loses points after the final tally at the end of the comp. They lose 1 point (the equivalent of a judged loss) for each battle declined “illegally”. Right this second, only 1 Clan is facing 1 instance of that.
