Children of the Sword,

_ He slipped out of his quarters, because the woman was fast asleep, all tired out from a day of strenuous…exercises. Peace and quiet by night, that was the life of a Sith turned Quaestor. Stimulants, Liquor, anything to silence the in and outs of daily life. Back to focus, back to sobriety, and back to the true callings of the Force, the Sith found comfort in war. When it all ends, they turn back inside and look for the meanings again. Dogmatic, pragmatic, what ever it was, there was a rift within his kind. Unite, preserve, and defy, were just a few of the verbs in his plan. What was he supposed to do now? Go back to calm, go back to comfort?

As he reached the sealed vaults, the stalwart guards of House Caliburnus’ prized possessions, fugues of anger and madness swept him. Lost in his own mind, the vaults were his solace, confined and hidden. It wasn’t even on the maps, a secret place with history and relics of times passed. Thran Occasus, Dark Paladin, champion of cause, felt alone. He cursed himself as the engraved doors slammed shut behind him. Fear, for some reason sank into the pit of his stomach. As he wandered, the lure of the weapon called him. In pace, he entered the lit room, focusing his attention on the single pedestal that held the weapon.

It was beautiful in ebony and gold, glittering in the fonts of red light. Thran looked towards in, instinctively reaching out for it. Like a well trained pet, it came to him. Admiring the glisten for a moment, he could sense the distinct essence of the resident child Master.

“What is wrong Quaestor?” he said, nearly in a whisper.

Well, It is mostly obvious that the Rites of Supremacy have ended. I want to extend a huge thanks to all those that participated. Clan Scholae Palatinae got into the mix and made it known that we are a real presence in the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. I know for a fact that the reason we accomplished what we have is because of the undying dedication from our membership. It is not the leaders who impacted the results, rather it was all the mad participation from you, the members. Ultimately, I want to thank you. I hope we can do the same in the Great Jedi War and stir up some more muck. Excellent Work House Caliburnus!

Rasilvenaira is on a Leave of Absence. So, You will all have to deal with me while she is gone! I am almost positive this means we can all get piss-faced drunk without being yelled at in the morning! Drinks are on me! Spice is for free! Three Cheers! Whoopie!

To Ras: Please come back soon so I don’t have to work! Please! I’ll buy you something fancy!

It has been nearly a month since I last published a report, and as such I have missed a lot of welcomes. Blame it on me, I got lazy. These things happen, I’m better now. Here is a welcome for all the new ship-ins!

WELCOME!

And Finally!

Tyno...erm. Congratulations.

MONTHLY FOCUS

Monthly Focus for April is simple, Pre GJW. One of the stand out issues we had in the RoS was fiction participation. So, in the weeks between now and then I am going to discuss a few simple solutions to this problem. With Vendetta events, the scoring is usually based on overall participation, not on which submissions are the best. Scoring points based on participation only requires that we participate. Now, I know that is a dismal outlook, but that is how these things operate.

Managing time: Managing time is an issue that I have as a leader, so my goal is to work on it with you! For a three page fiction event, (standard) six nights of half a page of writing will complete it for you! If you would rather not devote 6 nights to it, spend just a little more time to produce a longer break up. A neat trick to making your fiction seem longer than it really is, is to include lots of conversation. For Example:

_ “Nothing, Duda. Nothing is wrong” He replied.

“Are you sure? Why are you ‘playing’ down here?” the little boy asked, prying beyond comfort.

“I am quite fine, Thank you. I was just coming down here to investigate the weapon. Curiosity, we can call it.” The Quaestor said, turning to meet his surrogate little brother.

“You can’t lie to me, Laser-brains.” He commented. _

Amazing! That short conversation takes up a decent chunk of space on a page. Could you imagine how much volume you would have if you expanded the conversation? Realistically, 3 pages is not hard to come by. If you devote only 30 minutes a day, you can easily come up with something!

Sometimes finding a topic can be hard. Next week I will discuss engineering some plot twists!
