House Caliburnus Quaestor Report

Children of the Sword,

_ After several moments of awkward silence, the Quaestor pocketed the precious artifact. The Master watched with careful eyes and a delighted smirk, sure to follow his new found friend. Nervous and suspicious, the Quaestor slipped away, avoiding the mounds of paperwork and responsibilities awaiting him within the relative comfort of the Offices. He had established a firm footing while he was there, and was obviously proud of himself. Yet, as he found himself slinking around the supposed comfort of the compound, something hung harrowingly close over his head. The only solace he could find was on the soft grass of the mediatition garden. Something about it reminded him of his own tutelage under a legend, now cast in stone before him.

The Dark Side had been good to him, but he was seeing the luster fade and the walls fall down. Something was wrong, something was going to happen and he knew it. It was likely a stereotypical Sith Panic attack, like so many before had experienced. As the pair sat, the younger of them turned and said, "Quaestor, tell me a little bit more about yourself. I can see the passion in your life, what causes it?".

"Do not confuse passion with irrationality. I am not a sharp witted as I ought to be. Something is halting me and I am stagnating in a maelstrom of clouded thoughts." he said, biting defensively with the pry.

"Have you not heard, the Dark Side is clouded..." the boy replied.

"I do not believe in that fabricated Jedi belief. Tell me, Master...Do you know of Darth Vectivus?" the Bakuran inquired.

"Hmm..." he mused, pondering a moment.

Before the boy could talk, the Quaestor began an interjection. "Philosophy is for old men, Duda. We could talk for hours, but what that for two young men? Do not lose your youth, for it is when a man replaces his dreams with regrets that he grows old. I am afraid I have finally come to the point where I am required to grow up, but I can't. I lose my vigor, and hone it into rage. I feel like a drunken father, ready to strike. It's not right." he said in self reflection.

"Well...what then are we to do?" the boy asked.

"Grenades...Fun...Things that Mother, or Rasilvenaira would not want us to be doing. It's fun to be a kid, everything is so much more vibrant." The overgrown bad influence, said with a rolling grin.

In continuation of last week, Here are a few more neat tricks for finishing a Fiction for a Vendetta style competition.

Dealing with Writer's block...

Relax. Sometimes you get stuck. One thing I do when I am stuck is go back and proofread it. Amazingly, when you check your own paper, some ideas happen to get back into your brain. Don't force yourself to write it, let it write itself with your imagination. I am the kinda guy who daydreams all day, so sometimes I divulge when I am writing and think up random things that have no relevance. If you find yourself doing that, Add it into your fiction! It's a simple way to give your character some realistic qualities and ever so importantly, takes up space on a typed document.

Proof reading...

I think it is always a good idea to proof read as you go. I usually stop at the end of a page or a paragraph and go back to the beginning to read it through. This can be kinda meticulous but really helps the overall quality of your post. When proofreading be sure to take the rules of the fiction into consideration, grade your paper like you were a teacher and you are sure to improve the weak spots.

If you

Regular reporting!

Some work with the Clan Menagerie, If you are interested in getting involved email me or contact me on IRC, I could use some minions! It would consist of basic writing tasks, imagination, and having to deal with me :P

I am going to be posting some polls on the Forums. They don't so much have a point, but are fun to do.

Maybe some other top secret things...But If I told you, they wouldn't be top secret...
