Headmaster Report

*I figure, if I post this a bit earlier than normal, it’ll make up for the last one, which was a bit late… :P Well, and there’s just plenty to announce right now. Sorry for the section titles; its late and I’m tired. *

Run-on is what’s going on

That’s right, the Shadow Academy is hosting another run-on, and I’d encourage everyone to participate. This is different than normal run-ons, most notably in how the story is done. But, I like the idea, and I think it allows for good practice. It also allows us to avoid the “I’m uber Sith Master with my own fleet of star destroyers” that people like to write their characters as (sorry, we can’t all be Jac, not even Sarin :P ). And there goes my career . . . Anyway, you can find the run-on and the rules on the Shadow Academy message board in the “SA Competitions” sub forum.

More enduring Test of Endurance; Test of Agility to become more agile

Thanks to Silver’s quick work, and Dranik’s coding, the Test of Endurance has been updated. Specifically, we’ve expanded the list of games that you can play for the test. Now, you can play JK, JO, JA, RC, BFI, and BFII. So, hopefully more people will take it, especially if you’ve been waiting to because you have BFII, but not JO. Or something along those lines
<p>Also, Ma’ar (aka Smoke) has been appointed as the new Test of Agility EP. He’s the only one who applied, but he is also qualified for the job. His first job will be to get to work on updating the course, much in the same manner that the Test of Endurance was. Both tests are being updated to reflect current Brotherhood gaming platform usage. If you are an experienced level maker for any of the Lucas Arts flight sims, we might need your help. Stay tuned.</p>

Trivia Reminder

<p>There will be dual trivia events again this weekend, starting tomorrow. The IRC event will run at 1:00 pm EDT (about 11 hours from now, actually). The message board based trivia will be posted tomorrow as well if you can’t make it on IRC. You can only do one of the events. Look on the message board on the pinned topic at the top, starting at about 2:00 pm EDT.</p>

Updating you on SA Updates

<p>I’ve already mentioned the updated ToE, and pending updates to the ToA, but I have sent the Sith Core rewrite to Sarin and Halc for comments, so we’re nearing the end of that project. I’ll be updating the main SA page welcome letter next and Dranik is going to work on organizing the Dark Vault some (when he’s not coding up Core rewrites). Aabs has sent me a proposal for a Ground Vehicles course, to help add to the Karana campus, and maybe try to set a record for most number of SA courses written (I’m right on the first part, not so certain about the second, but it is a good thing to strive for).</p>

New EP Needed

<p>Unfortunately, I’ve had to remove the EP of History of the Sith Empire I. Suffice to say, exams weren’t be graded on time, and I’ve had no contact with him. So, I need a new one. Here are the requirements to apply:

1.You must have passed the exam before this posting (those waiting on results may apply pending a passing score; I’ll be grading them tomorrow morning, so you’ll have time to apply).

2.Your e-mail turn around time must be no more than 48 hours.

3.There is no rank or position restriction; however, I will give more weight to people who are not currently EPs, in order to open a job to more people.

4.E-mail myself and Dranik with your application by Tuesday April 17.

5.Identify one thing you like about the course, and at least one thing you think needs to be changed.

6.Provide a short blurb about why you want to be an EP (you should do this as part of the application anyway, but I wanted to highlight it).

7.Include an answer key to the exam.

8.Make certain your subject line clearly identifies what you’re e-mailing us for.</p>

Summary

•Participate in the SA Run-on. Let’s have some fun with it.

•Yay Silver and Dranik for updates to the ToE; congrats to Smoke for being new ToA EP- now get to work :P

•Trivia happening as normal.

•SA updates in progress, as always.

•If my response time is delayed for the next few days, it’s because I’m working extra hard to finish up some papers for school- early. That’s right, I intend to turn them in early and relax the last couple of weeks of school.

I forgot to mention, but congrats go out to Locutov (1st), Phoenix (T-2nd), and Vally (T-2nd) for winning the IRC trivia event. Raken (1st) and Kraval (2nd) won the message board trivia event.
