Krath Tetrarch Report

Goings-on

I finally went to see my doctor after my sinus' started hurting and dripping yellow stuff. I got some antibiotics and cough medicine. I did get fantastic news this week. My grandma does not have cancer! They cleared her after doing the bronchial scope thingy. She liked that morphine a little too much though ;) So looks like I'll be sticking around here after all.

Now that I don't have to worry about family members I'm getting right back to work on the second chapter of the character development project. I'm nearly done with the first section and I'll get that out soon along with a competition, discussion topic, and side tasks. I want to know what you think of this project so feel free to voice your opinion and then voice it again once this is completed. Remember that the project isn't a story, it is a lecture meant to help you develop a better character. Kaz had a good opinion that will be highly considered when I create the final project which is some time down the road so you might have a good opinion too if you voice it :D

Brimstone had a good idea but not of the character developing project. In order to better know fellow BT members, he thought it would be nice to see what everyone submitted for the What's in a Name? competition. You'll find that attached to the email along with my own so you all can know my character slightly better.

The awards for the name competition found their way out. Aside from those, Brimstone will soon get an LSS for being the only person to submit answers to the Wednesday trivia. He didn't get them all right but he was close. This week will be different so stay tuned.

Let's see, the only SA test to be passed this week was the Capital Starship Studies. Congrats to Kaz for passing that one!

Here's a nice link to the Star Wars/Robot Chicken special that Cartoon Network is putting together. I liked the end personally XD

Competitions

Participation is at a near zero. I am hoping that is due to finals and/or graduations. Remember to CC me, Mune, and Dranik when you submit to a competition. If you need help just drop me an email. Ends June 27th. Look for this to be out every Wednesday.

There's always the weekly SA trivia held on IRC. In the #SA channel and on the message board now every Saturday at approximately 1300 EST. Make sure you check the DB news page for weekly updates.

Oh and there's the Inter Club Training Event or ICTE that happens every Saturday in the #outerrim channel. You'll need some games for that. There's also the Gaming nights during the week if you happen to fancy a game. I'm not sure when these happen or what schedule rotation it is on so just hop into #dbgaming to see what's going on. On the weekly gaming nights you can also try for an ACCLive! match but you'll have to pass qualification first.

If anyone has any questions on any of these competitions or any ideas for future competitions feel free to give me a yell. I am here for you.

Ramblings and Other Such Things

Cool Game Death - No one sent one in this week so I guess I'll take the stage. This week will be the last chance to get in on this.

"Ok this one hails from the first Star Wars: Battlefront. It isn't one with me dying but I thought it funny at the time. Heros weren't playable characters and they were like stupid super gods. Nothing you did would kill them but they wouldn't exactly go take a base from the enemy. Well there is one way to kill them but it take a lot of ammo and good timing. My man and I were playing one of the Bespin platform level as the rebels. I prefer doing some sharpshooting on that level and as I watched through the scope Darth Vader was present. There were rebels firing rockets at him but the things that did him in I don't think could ever repeat again. A grenade exploded at his feet and as he flew up into the air a rocket hit him square and blew him close to the side. A second grenade exploded and sealed his launch into the clouds. Another rocket hit him but it was a moot point by then. I had to pause the game cause we were laughing so much. "

Work Related Fun - Usually the week before a holiday is busy and the full week before the end of a month is busy. This week wasn't busy at all. I'm a bit worried that I'll get my butt handed to me next week. One thing of interest did happen though. This will require picturing a dolly, cargo loader, and a container. The container kinda looks like a half moon. One side is curved and the other side is flat. This allows it to fit down the sides of the aircraft. So anyways, there was one of these containers on a dolly that was too far away from the cargo loader. For an experienced employee, this is not a problem, you simply push the container off the dolly at an angle for better control. The employee in charge of transferring containers onto the loader was not experienced. He pushed it off curved side first which left a bulk of the weight on the flat side. Once the flat side left the dolly it was in the extra large space between the dolly and cargo loader. This caused all the weight to shift backwards into that space and the container tipped backwards back onto the dolly. This made it impossible to correct without equipment capable of lifting several tons. Had to call in a forklift to pick it up. We all had a laugh over it while he got a nice lecture from his boss. I was just glad no one was beside or behind the container. That would have hurt a lot.

Thought of the Week - “You can quote text from a manual. You can show the quoted text in the manual. You can even let someone else read the same text from the manual. The person you are arguing with will still think they are right.”

Alright I've yacked your ear off enough. Email me if you need/want anything.
