JK2 CTF League

Rules:

1) Teams must be even (unless a team agrees to start with a handicap).

2) In order for a team to play, it must have at least 2 players present. If a match starts, and a team cannot field 2 players, that team forfeits the match. If neither team can present 2 players, both teams will forfeit.

3) No more than 4 players are allowed on a single team at any one time. Also, no spectators will be allowed, unless they are directly involved in a player substitution.

4) During the course of the game, you may substitute as many players in as you wish, so long as the total number of players on your team does not exceed the size of the opposing team (or 4 players, which is the maximum team size allowed).

5) CTF Matches will last 30 minutes (a judge will be present to keep track of time).

6) If at the end of 30 minutes, no winner is decided, the game will result in a tie for both teams.

7) Each team will select a team captain. The team captains are responsible for choosing a team name, as well as overseeing in-game substitutions. Team captains are also responsible for making sure their team shows up to matches on time. Additionally, they are responsible for showing up to matches themselves.

8) A judge will be present at all CTF matches to make sure that everything runs smoothly and fairly. If you have a problem, feel free to consult the judge, that’s why he’s there.

9) Repeated and intentional violations of the above rules may result in a reduced score or disqualification of your team. Please read the rules, there aren’t that many, and they aren’t very complicated.

Settings:

Force – Jedi Master
Weapons – Guns preferably, (lightsabers only if both teams agree)
Map - Home Team (H) decides which CTF map to use

Teams:

Note: Team numbers have changed slightly since I emailed your Consuls. Please make note of the changes below. The team numbers will be replaced with names as soon as the team captains choose and submit their team’s name.

Team 3: Clan Satal Keto

Always guns as default. Heck, we a JEDI :p Make sabers default for a change.

Always guns as default? Play in a WoW - all sabers. Plat at the ICTE - all sabers, unless you get a FFA match. I'm glad to finally have something where I will be able to play guns...besides, CTF works much better with guns than sabers - it's a lot harder to chase people running with speed and/or rage with a saber (and kill them, to boot) than with the 'ol flechette or repeater.

If you want a good game of CTF, play no/limited force and sabers only. guns are for the people that cant ply with sabers, like the guy said its eazyer to play guns you can be on one side of the map and sniper the guy on the other, to me thats not fun, its boring as hell

-Tatsu-

Sorry Flech, but it seems that only a few can appreciate a good guns match now adays.

Besides, nf sabers ctf is so...so....bland. All it boils down to is who can strafe jump the fastest, doesnt sound much fun to me. Now, if you can dodge projectiles and counter the other ppls force users while running flags and manage to snag a few kills, hell, THAT sounds more fun than nf sabers ctf.......BLEH!!! No offense Tatsu, you know me, I love a good duel, but ctf is much better when played with guns and ff.

Ok, a couple of things: first of all, the argument, "We're Jedi, let's use sabers not guns!" and "Let's do no force!" don't work together. If you want the Jedi experience, it would be full force sabers. Secondly, like Shaithis said, nf sabers comes down to who can strafe jump the fastest, because you have no ranged attacks - if they get a little ahead of you, you have no way of stopping them. At least in FF sabers you have pull, speed, rage, lightning, etc. Third, guns is not just getting sniped from across the map. Oh, I have force sight on. Hm, that guy is crouching in a spot where he can see a lot of the map and it looks like his outline has the disruptor. I wonder if he's sniping? Alright, well, I have force seeing 3 (dodge disruptor shots above the ankles) and get out my lightsaber while I close (lightsaber absorbs shots below the ankles), and I don't get sniped while I close in. If you are dying too much to snipers, it's because you don't know how to play guns, NOT because it's boring. A good guns game is a lot more fun than any sabers match I've ever played in. It's about using the force well (knowing when to have seeing on and not, using lightning at just the right time to finish a person or two off, aiming well (which can be a lot harder than any crouch-lunge or rdfa), BRYAR FIGHTS (woo, lol), learning when to fight and when (and how) to run away to get ammo, shields, and health. You say Jedi use lightsabers; I say Jedi use the resources they have around them, and wouldn't restrict themselves to using solely a lightsaber.

Quote: "guns are for the people that cant ply with sabers". Tatsu, is Gambit good at sabers? He's the DJB's best gunner. What about Dagger, is he good at sabers? He's one of the best DJB JO players, what about Shaithis? Or myself? Every person I named can beat pretty much anyone in the DJB in sabers and yet we play guns, how does what you say hold true?

Guns FF is the best setting for CTF, you can still use a lightsaber if you want, but I wouldnt recommend going up against people with guns with just a lightsaber :P

I would...EVERY single weapon in JO, without exception, can be countered by effective force and/or saber use. It's just a matter of skill. not to mention the fact that saber throw can outrange the repeater's gay secondary fire, as well as flechette grenades. Plus it does a guaranteed 30 damage a pop...try saying that about a gun in JK2, the only guns that do over 30 damage per hit is the repeater secondary fire (see the range note earlier regarding saber throw), a fully charged disruptor (requiring a scope) and a fully charged bryar shot.

And to comment on the "sniped across the map" thing regarding guns. I should point out that force sight can block disruptor shots from in front OR behind, and level 3 saber defense skill can block disruptor shots from the front quarter :P

That's my two cents, grasshoppers :P
