Deputy Grand Master Report

-> <-

It's that time again.

Sarin and I have been working pretty hard on GJW stuff. I don't have an official release date yet, but the consuls and DC people will be in contact with us as we get closer. There's a lot of cool things going on in this war that haven't happened in any other vendetta events before... of course you can expect some of the traditional stuff, like crazy late-night sessions of JO/JA, and fiction events that make you stay up into the wee hours.
Now, I've only been here for two GJWs and a bagfull of lesser vendettas, but i was pretty active in all of them, so i'm not n00bing it up in here when I say I'm excited about this one. Makes me kinda wish I could fight for a clan, having seen all the cool stuff coming down for this one.
Well, I'm not going to continue teasing on that front, on to more stuff...

Hand to hand guide... I finally finished the writing stage, and the editing people are fiercely attacking it like the trained pirhanas they are good at being. This is good. Once all the feedback hits me, we should be able to have this thing hosted up for you cats to read and enjoy. It'll also be part of the ACC, just like the lightsaber combat guide.
I think you guys will get a kick out of the new and novel ways to beat people up in this.

I am going to take a moment here and preach a bit. I've seen quite a bit of really nasty political games go on in this club. Maybe one person doesn't like another and this turns into some really lame Capulet and Montague sort of thing, where people just generally complain and slam the others until they're all blue in the face.
It's weak.
And frankly, it needs to stop.
If you don't like someone, there's a simple solution: don't talk to them. Don't be a dick to them, or post little snide sayings about them, or whatever lame crap you think is so clever. You're not being clever. That crap got old in middle school. Just avoid them... or if you can't, be at least professional when you have to deal with them.
This is a club. We're here to have fun. And if the only way you know how to have fun is by being a prick, you know where the door is. And if you keep acting that way, soon enough, there'll be people showing you where the door is. And no, that's not directed at anyone in particular. If you think it applies to you, it probably does.
We all have better things to do than deal with peety arguments about online hatreds.

I said this last report, but it bears repeating: There's a few people who were 'promised' stuff from me, in the way of custom robes, mostly... I'll still be doing those, so don't bother Kaine about it.

And I will be converting over the old HRLD blog i had for a new 'DGMly' blog. And yes, I'll be doing the occassional blog contest with cool awards (which may contain custom robes), so keep an eye open for that, too.

As usual, if you need anything, I'm on IRC almost all the time (if only logging) as 'Muz' or some variant. sending me an email works pretty well, too.

Not to, you know, denigrate your time in the club or anything, Muz, but I find it kind of ironic you're lecturing us on "political games" and "slamming people". :P

That's kinda the point, Xayun. A lot of us have seen this sort of thing in the past to the point where it has become accepted as the norm. We all need to pull together and stop it...and very often, it starts by looking inward and modifying your own behavior. That's what I am asking people to do, really.
