Goings-on

Well overall this was an uneventful week. No one participated in the writing competition I had out despite people wanting to have something like that :P

This weeks winner of the Wednesday trivia is Brimstone. Sweet. Only one more round to go!

The Clan run-on is still going on. I'm not sure when we'll see or hear who won medals for the competition part. Don't be put off from posting even though the competition portion is done with. Some of the most enjoyable run-ons I've taken part in never had any kind of competition attached to it. If anyone needs any help developing a post just email me. Also, if you are looking to break into the ACC, I am a staff member who is available for training/qualification matches. I am not biased so bring your A game if you want to pass.

Alright now for some award and SA test news. No tests were taken this week. Tyrus nabbed an Emerald Star for second place in Mune's Random Comp I, a Cluster of Fire for participating in the SET last weekend, and a Legion of the Scholar for winning trivia.

Just a reminder that if you do go on a little LoA to email me and/or the House Summit. If you just email me I'll pass the word along. Anyways, do this so you don't get booted if an AWOL check is run while you are gone.

Wednesday Trivia Just for us!

There's always the weekly SA trivia held on IRC. In the #SA channel and on the message board every Saturday at approximately 1300 EST. Make sure you check the DB news page for weekly updates.

Oh and there's the Inter Club Training Event or ICTE that happens every Saturday in the #outerrim channel. You'll need some games for that. There's also the Gaming nights during the week if you happen to fancy a game. I'm not sure when these happen or what schedule rotation it is on so just hop into #dbgaming to see what's going on.

Ramblings and Other Such Things

Work Related Fun – Well Monday started out fantastic. FedEx has a company come in to refuel the aircraft which is what most airline companies do. So Monday the driver of one of the refueling trucks ran over a dolly and tore the main hose. That spilled 5,000 gallons (18,921 liters) of jet fuel all over the ramp. Luckily the spill happened at the end portion of our gates so they only had to shut down 15 gates. Unfortunately that left 8 wide body aircraft stranded, most had not been offloaded for the night sort. So the week was spent playing catch-up. I found it funny that this is the second incident this month with these refueling guys. The first incident happened on a Friday I was off. I guess the guy did his job and then forgot to unhook the hose that was attached to the aircraft I am mainly responsible for. He backed away and well I'll just say I'm glad I was off that night.
