Adherents to the Will of the Dark Side,

The Seventh Great Jedi War has concluded. I want to personally thank each of you whom participated and drove this great Clan to a Second Overall finish. This is a definite improvement over our Fourth Overall finish in the Sixth Great Jedi War. You all have shown true grit as warriors of the Clan and proven, to Phoenix and I, that this Clan has the most heart of all the Brotherhood.

Now... lets discuss what we are going to do differently to get even better. Over a week ago, I called an Emergency Conclave between current and future leaders of the Clan. I set out some parameters of what will define CSP as we prepare for our next season... and how we are going to accomplish it. It all came back to the ethos I set for the Scholae Palatinae Senate:

I start with the premise that the function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers. Leaders are the ones who keep faith with the past, keep step with the present, and keep the promise to posterity. Leadership is action, not position.

Leadership is action, not position. Let those words soak in. Our Clan has prided itself on its participation and activity over the past year. Rightfully so, we have been a maelstrom of mass activity in every event we have attacked - emphasizing the overall effect than the individual skill. And all was right with the world as we swept over our foes like a hurricane, abolishing all that we touched. But even the most potent of storms will die and left in their wake is chaos. So this is the truth of my year at the helm of Scholae Palatinae.

So, as a new year dawns, I set these basic tenants for us:

1. Top Participating Clan (not necessarily skill)

2. More Member Focus (lower the leader:member ratio)

3. Enhancing Clan Community

4. Inspiring Members

How do we get there? We establish a stronger base than the one we previously were committed to. I will be removing the Roll Master/Envoy position from the House Summits and be assigning the Aediles with those tasks. This will consolidate our leadership base in a positive manner - providing the House Leaders with more insight into their members and their progression. Additionally, to lower the member:leader ratio (which is a good thing) we will be re-opening House Dorimad Sol. This will keep our leaders from getting buried under the bulk of their Houses and allow for more personalized attention.

But the task does not lay solely with them. We must all be in action. With the House Summits simplifying their duties and focusing exclusively on member advancement, driving participation and developing our culture... projects of grandeur and mentorship will fall to the members themselves. And our progress will hinge on your willingness to get dirty and help the Clan grow and accomplish its tasks.

I am not saying that your Leaders will not be working on projects of their own, training new apprentices and all of that good stuff. But their primary focus will be on diligently running their House. And I, as Consul, place the weight previously carried on their shoulders before you.

Are you up to the task? Will you help this Clan succeed as it reshapes and morphs?
