Wiki Tribune Report

This week has seen more improvements and additions to the WIki.

Images are now being Categorized (example: [[Category:Images-Starships]]. The reason for this is so that we can better keep a track of the images to prevent duplication. For instance if we have all of the starship images in one category, members who need an image can scan quickly through that instead of looking through the numerous pages of images (we have a lot of images). Thanks go out to RevengeX & Benevolent Whiner for helping out on this.

Though I have yet to assign tasks, we have a list on the Community Portal page (http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/wiki/index.php?title=DJBWiki:Community_Portal). Or if you have suggestions, feel free to leave them there or e-mail me.

An extensive look into some members articles - looking at the authenticity of them. Some have claimed to be assosciated with key players in the SW universe. We have quelled this problem somewhat, though no doubt there are more articles out there. My thanks to Halc and Shadow for their help on this.

On the Community Portal page I've outlined some planned Projects as well as things everyone (Wiki Staff and members) can work on to help the Wiki run smoothly

Wiki Projects

Project: Realism - A selected crew of the Wiki Staff will review articles to make sure they are in line with Star Wars (SW) realism, SW known (species, vehichles, powers, etc...) elements, in concord with DB timeline (no you have not lived for 300 years), and DB policies.

Project: Cleanup - A selected crew of the Wiki Staff will go through unused pages, pages that have not been brought up to Wiki standards in a selct period of time, pages that go way out in left field, and then delete or tag them for deletion if not editted in a selected time.

Project: User Audit - The Wiki Tribune will review/audit the Users registered with the Wiki to confirm that they are still within the DB, still using the Wiki, and help increase the number of User pages instead of allowing redirect to their character pages.

Project: Category - All articles need categories, not all articles need their own category. Images likewise need categories. For example: A member's warbanner (if appropriate info is written about it) can be categorized under [[Category:Images-Warbanners]]. A selected detail of Wiki Staff members will deal with this.

Fix-up projects

Article Categorization - The articles have no categories listed

Wanted categories - These are categories in demand, but not existing

Bad links - need pages - Ever see those red links? Those are pages we need made

Dead-end pages - The following pages do not link to other pages in this wiki.

Orphaned pages - These pages are not linked from other pages in this wiki

Users - Look at the red ones - they need redirected or to have a User page created

Unused Files - These are just taking up space: "Wipe them out. All of them"

The Wiki is moving forward and we don't believe in reverse so we have only one way to go.

Before pages are just deleted, is it possible for the Wiki Staff to compile a list of pages 'on the block' and either distribute them to the Consuls of each Clan or include them in the next report? I know some (most) pages may seem erroneous to a third party, but I am sure the original author would like the opportunity to put the information elsewhere/edit the mistake, opposed to the article being deleted.

Most articles aren't deleted without warning unless they're absolutely ridiculous and/or not appropriate for the DB wiki. However, if you feel an article shouldn't have been deleted I believe they can be resurrected, but you'd have to ask the Staff about that.

please don't delete my page, i really like it! and i worked long and hard on it. and and i had to have help. PLEASE I BEG OF U TO NOT DELETE IT.
