INTRODUCTION:

Another report after one week - that's unusual for me.

I don't think I mentioned this in my last report: Welcome to the year 28 ABY.

BROTHERHOOD NEWS:

1) In case you didn't know, Clan Naga Sadow has finished their "Invasion of Orian" competition.

2) Don't use Jac as your scapegoat when it comes to things he may have [not] approved for your character.

3) Consuls are part of the Dark Council, they just cannot receive custom robes for the time being.

4) The Family and Clan Naming Policies document still exists. If you're interested in joining/creating a family or if you want to know the guidelines concerning Clan names, the document is there for your perusal.

5) A new Wiki "tag" has been created called "On Notice". If you find that your "personal ship" article receives one of these tags, it means that your "personal ship" may become "obsolete" in the near future. Don't freak out and scream, "Discrimination! H8!" - there isn't any. All personal ships have received this tag.

6) According to GM Sarin's most recent report, a new Force Powers system should be released in the coming weeks. Additionally, he urges you to give your money to charity, instead of buying an XBox 360, PlayStation 3, or Nintendo Wii. He also talks about what will happen with the DV in the short future. Read his report for more details.

7) The Antei Combat Center's third round of the Fourth Championship Ladder is set to begin. FOUR (4) out of EIGHT (8) combatants to have made it to the third round are from our Clan, CSP. They are Timbal, Vail, Fionn (a.k.a. Locutov), and myself. Additionally, THREE out of that FOUR are from HAD. Good luck, folks! :)

CLAN NEWS:

1) House Caliburnus has entered week two of their Deadly Deceptions competition.

2) If you are interested in participating in a very intense 3-day JO/JA clinic, please contact me. So far, I have 8 people signed up. For more information, please contact me or visit Scholae Palatinae's GoogleGroup archive and find the email "Gathering Interest - Intensive JO/JA 3-Day Clinic". Here's a rough outline of the program:

Day 1: Lightsaber basics, basic moves (how and why they work)

Day 2: Expand upon lightsaber styles, style ideas, fundamental strategy

Day 3 (JO only): Art of the Bryar (while I am, in no way, a "master" with the bryar, I can give a small introduction)

3) Thanks to HAD's Timbal, work is being done on the Wiki articles of many of CSP's former ships. Completed articles:

4) If you hadn't already read PCON Lucien's report, please do so! It shows everyone that we are a very active Clan and that tons of medals are constantly being thrown at us. Plus, Lucien's wife is due for their baby anytime soon, so don't scream and run around in circles if he disappears for a week or two.

HOUSE NEWS:

1) HAD will have a ten-day "Missio Draconis-like" competition in the beginning of December. I plan on beginning Dec. 1 and ending Dec. 10. After consultation with the current Master-at-Arms, we have agreed that EACH EVENT will be awarded Crescents. That means, this is an opportunity for SIXTY (60) Crescents - ONE (1) member COULD earn TWENTY (20) Crescents!

2) I've been tossing around some ideas and I've briefly talked with House Ektrosis' Quaestor, Hel-Pa Sklib, about a House Feud sometime next year.

3) November "What if..." prompt: "What if House Acclivis Draco became an Independent House (that is, a House unattached to any Clan)?" Remember, your entry may be in any format you like: story, poem, image, movie, statue of beer cans, etc.

ORDER OF THE DRAGON:

"Heya, Timbal!" RevengeX patted the other Epis' back as he took a seat at the bar in the House cantina. "One Starshine Surprise, please," he told the droid bartender.

"Don't fall asleep on my counter, fool," replied the droid as he stirred up drinks. Timbal chuckled and RevengeX shrugged back. The bartending droids had definitely gotten more agressive since the reclamation of Antenora when the House's Aedile, Cooch, had sat down at the bar and ordered two of every drink available before immediately falling asleep after the third glass.

"Starshine Surprise? I guess you've gotten tougher," laughed Timbal as he sipped his own drink while watching a pair of Twi'lek females shake their bodies on the dance floor. "But, I still doubt you're tougher than me."

"Oh yea?" challenged RevengeX as he watched the same seductive dancers work their magic across the audience. "What are you drinking?"

"A Tatooine Sunburn," replied Timbal, the word "Tatooine" being slurred slightly.

"Liar," called the Quaestor. "You're too wimpy to handle a Tatooine Sunburn." He nodded to the droid as he accepted the drink that was pushed towards him.

"Hah," responded Timbal. "Just to prove it to you, woman, I'll order another so that you can witness my manliness." He tapped the droid on the shoulder, "One Tatooine Sunburn."

"If you attempt to urinate on my floors, I will grind you up in the ice blender, fool." The droid turned around and began mixing up the famous Tatooine Sunburn.

"Watch how a man does it," boasted Timbal as he swirled a straw in the drink. "I'll chug this baby before you can even say, 'Timbal is one sexy beast.'"

"Of course," laughed Revenge with only a touch of sarcasm in the words. "Go ahead and try it."

With a single fluid, well-practiced motion, the glass' contents rapidly poured into Timbal's mouth. In less than five seconds, the liquid had vanished. With a boisterous burp, Timbal blinked and suddenly fell asleep, a steady river of drool issuing from his mouth as his head hit the bar counter.

"Sucker," laughed RevengeX as he finished his drink and turned away to go dance with the Twi'leks he had eyed earlier.

"Those organic fools always mess up my bar," muttered the droid as he began to clean glasses and plates.

I hope you enjoyed that short blurb. Lots of laughing and drinking... that's the way House Acclivis Draco is.

QUAESTOR'S CORNER:

Hey everbody, just as forewarning, this edition of the Quaestor's Corner will be a bit more serious.

== Taking Credit ==

Taking Credit. Everyone wants recognition - credit - for their work. Everyone wants others to realize that they helped create/contribute to something.

Recently, I've realized that some people aren't being recognized for their contributions. Don't be afraid to be assertive and speak up for yourself. (If you're not going to speak up for yourself, who will?) Remember: "assertive" and "aggressive" are completely different things. Be firm, but don't be a jerk about it. If you seriously helped out with something, let others know. Let people know that you helped, contributed, whatever.

Yea, I suppose I should speak up for myself too. I, just like everyone else, have been passed by without recognition for the effort and time that I have put into something. Now, it is, pretty much, too late to speak up and say, "Excuse me, you forgot about moi." When something like this happens, you need to be fast. (By the way, "moi" is not pronounced "mOY", it's pronounced something like "mwAH".)

I suppose that's my tragic flaw - I wait for people to recognize me, instead of putting myself out there and explicitly saying, "You forgot about me." Sometimes, the waiting never ends.

As someone once told me, "You don't get everything you deserve. Sometimes you have to go out there and take it."

== What It All Comes Down to... ==

What do each and every one of us come down to? No matter what House you are in, you are a member of Scholae Palatinae. No matter what Clan you are in, you are a member of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. No matter what online club you are in, you are a member of the planet. No matter what planet you are on, you are a member of the solar system. No matter what solar system you are in, you are a member of the galaxy. No matter what galaxy you are in, you are a member of the universe.

Ultimately, we are all citizens of the universe. (And yes, I realize that David Ives is a terrible playwright.)

== Why is the DJB significant to someone's life? ==

For me, the DJB was extremely beneficial: I learned how to write in English (contrary to popular belief, I am not an American), I learned how to be inspiring, I learned how to be expressive, I learned how to omfgwtfpwn people in Jedi Outcast, I learned how to set goals, I learned how to lead, I learned how to follow, I learned how to be straight-forward, and I learned how to grow as a person. I've made friends, I've met jerks, and I've become, somewhat, more tolerable of those a little faster/slower than myself.

The DJB brings a unique experience that cannot be found anywhere else. You can learn a whole bunch of different things and you can create enduring friendships. You can be yourself without any fear. You can be your "true" self without any fear.
