INTRODUCTION:
A lot has been happening in House Acclivis Draco, Clan Scholae Palatinae, and the Dark Jedi Brotherhood, as a whole! Please continue reading this edition of the Revvy Report to digest the news thrown at you.
It's nearing the end of 2007, so look forward to a super long report after the holidays! With the release of the year 2008, I am eager to help you and give you opportunities to become a better person. In case you're wondering how the DJB can help you improve your personality, I urge you to read my previous reports; each one hints at something the DJB helped (or helps) me do.
But before 2008 begins, there are still some things that must be addressed in 2007!
BROTHERHOOD NEWS:
1) [http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/comments.asp?ID=N:5094] The first order of business is that the position of Consul of Clan Tarentum (not Clan Scholae Palatinae) is now open for applications for all members who meet the REQUIREMENTS.
2) [http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/comments.asp?ID=N:5092] Herald Shikyo Keibatsu is looking for another Magistrate. If you satisfy the requirements, feel free to apply!
3) [http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/comments.asp?ID=N:5089] The first Envoy Challenge that Knight Commander Lucien Kaeth (who is also our Clan's Proconsul) has ever run has finished. Clans Tarentum, Taldryan, and Naga Sadow took first, second, and third place, respectively, for their outstanding achievement in helping Initiates take the Test of Lore and earn the rank of Apprentice.
4) In case you did not know, the Dark Jedi Brotherhood news page has been completely transformed, thanks to the Seneschal, Epis Xia Long, and her staff. It is now more aesthetically pleasing.
5) [http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/comments.asp?ID=N:5096] For the month of December, Gaming Tribune Shadow Taldrya will be awarding double Clusters of Fire. In addition, the ICTE will last longer; it will run from midnight EST Friday to Saturday 11:59 PM EST.
CLAN NEWS:
1) Proconsul Lucien Kaeth is on maternity leave... because his wife is expecting their child at any given moment! Congratulations to Lucien!
2) Our Clan Summit has received the thumbs up for the new list of Clan artifacts. Look out for more information concerning those in the near future.
3) The Jedi Academy Guide for Clan Scholae Palatinae has been released! Kaine has been kind enough to convert it to a PDF file for your "Portable Document File pleasure". The Guide is 17 pages of awesomeness!
4) Thanks to former Consul Braecen Kaeth and his group of talented writers, the description of our Clan's dominion, the Cocytus System, is nearing completion. You can view the two completed articles here: Antenora and Judecca
5) House Caliburnus' Deadly Deceptions event has concluded.
HOUSE NEWS:
1) Kalak Ragnose and Yeldarb Vohkou have been promoted to Dark Jedi Knight! Congratulations, you two, and, drinks are on you! The story that accompanies these elevations are in the following section, "The First Presents".
2) House Acclivis Draco's GRD Demious has returned from an unexpected LoA! Welcome back!

4) Due to some inconveniences this month and last month, I had to cancel the event I planned for you all. Its intended start date was December 1. I have moved this event to mid-January.
THE FIRST PRESENTS:
(In case you did not have the chance to read my story about the noteworthy elevations of two of our House's Jedi Hunters, here it is in its entirety.)
The young Hunter exhaled slowly as he slowly closed his eyes and opened himself up to the Force. His training saber's cerulean blade hummed lightly as it was held in the hands of a learner. After having trained with the Dark Jedi Brotherhood for several months, his knowledge and skills had increased exponentially, but he knew that he still had a long time to go. He reached out with his mind, groping for the inner power that could allow him access into the Force's all-seeing eye. He found it and tapped it, allowing the warmth of the Dark Side to flow through his body like a river.
His eyes were closed, but he could still see.
Without thinking, simply acting upon the enhanced awareness and instinct that the Force gave him, his training saber whipped around in circles, blocking five simultaneous shots from different training droids. He could feel the low-power blaster bolts bounce of the blade as though it were his own hand. He could hear the blaster bolts become absorbed into the specially designed walls before they hit.
The young man opened his eyes and a small smile crept across his face as he realized his success in the drill.
"My Apprentice, put away your training gear. Consul Phoenix has requested the presence of all Scholae Palatinae Dark Jedi. Meet him at the Grand Hall." The Hunter quickly turned around; he had been unaware that he had been watched. "Don't worry, Phoenix only sounded extremely irritable, so it means that he's been having a good day." The Proconsul of Scholae Palatinae allowed a small smirk to cross his face as his Apprentice quickly gathered his belongings.
"Of course," the Hunter let out a chuckle escape his lips. "I'll see you there."
The words of old, the ink that had once been laid down by the scholars of the past, had always been a fascination to the green-scaled Falleen. Ever since his earliest days, he had always dreamed of absorbing this limitless, hidden knowledge, and then using it to become great - greater than even the most learned Krath of old. The book that he held open in his hands, "From an Older Era", was yellowing and becoming crinkled at its edges. There were only a few books in House Acclivis Draco's library that were in poor condition, but the status of these books would still be considered shameful.
The Jedi Hunter breathed in - inhaling the dust and pungency of history - and then breathed out slowly, allowing his eyes to rest by closing them for a second. It had been just over two years since he had joined the Brotherhood by entering the daunting doors of the old Shadow Academy on Lyspair. It seemed so long ago; every event, every emotion before the Brotherhood felt as though they had been experienced eons ago, when the planets, and the galaxy as a whole, were still taking shape. He had learned much under the tutelage of many of the Brotherhood's greatest, more than he had ever learned at the university he attended years ago, but he still knew that he was only a Journeyman - the lowest of the classes.
His fingers absentmindedly traced the outlines of the book's leather binding. He craved knowledge for knowledge is power, and power is influence. The young Krath could feel his knowledge growing every day, but he was not yet powerful.
A small beep came from his comlink.
Instinctively, the Hunter's long green finger pressed a button. Without warning, a sharp voice began screaming.
"Phoenix has calle' everyone to the Gran' Hall, so get yo' butt cheeks o'er there, ya filthy piece of slime!" The voice of House Acclivis Draco's Quaestor, along with a drunken slur, were instantly recognizable. "Why are ya still sittin' there? Get a move on! Pick up yer junk and start runnin'! Formal robes require', and ma' sure ya bring yer training stick. Oh yea, don-"
The line went dead. The Falleen hoped that his Master hadn't been beaten to the ground by his House's Aedile. The two sometimes got in strange brawls, until they reconciled with hugs and butt squeezes. The young Krath put the book on a small table and left the library quickly.
The auditorium was more crowded than usual, at the request of the Clan's Consul, the Emperor of the Cocytus System, Phoenix Olkyssagh d'Tana Palpatine. Almost two hundred Dark Jedi and at least three hundred of Scholae Palatinae's military were sitting down. Jokes, cat calls, laughing, and the muttering of ridiculous incantations filled the room.
The clicking of the Consul's boot heels echoed throughout the Hall as the Sith made his way to the center of the stage. Silence immediately fell upon the usually boisterous crowd. From the opposite side of the stage, three masked figures made their way to flank the Consul.
"Hunters Vohkou and Ragnose, come here."
Yeldarb hesitantly got out of his seat, and he immediately felt the piercing gazes of his peers on his back. He realized that his face was flushed, but he continued his way to the stage casually. Similarly, Kalak stood up from his seat near the front and half-jogged to the platform as he felt a small bead of sweat caress his cheek. The two glanced at each other, made eye contact, and sheepishly looked away. Once they stepped onto the platform and taken positions in front of the Consul, Phoenix continued.
"Attack me." The two simple words issued a command, a demand, that the two young Journeymen never expected to hear.
"Excuse me?" Yeldarb asked, his voice trembling as his arm involuntarily unclipped his training lightsaber.
"Attack me!" The silence over the crowd was complete. A snap-hiss echoed throughout the auditorium and Yeldarb lunged at the Consul.
The blade's tip never came close to the Sith Warlord's robes. In a flourishing, circular motion, Phoenix grabbed the underside of Yeldarb's right arm and jabbed a pressure point with his thumb. The Obelisk let out a short scream and the training lightsaber's hilt dropped with a clatter to the platform's floor.
The other Jedi Hunter stood silently.
Phoenix's right knee collided with Yeldarb's midsection, forcing him to double over with another agonized yell. Phoenix let go of Yeldarb's arm and turned to the other Jedi Hunter, Kalak Ragnose. The Sith looked as though he was about to say something, but was distracted by the stomping of feet. Whirling around, Phoenix was able to block Yeldarb's fist just milliseconds before it was about to collide with his head.
The tendrils of the Dark Side licked at both Dark Jedi, whom stayed stationary, their arms and eyes locked in order to send waves of anger at the other. Without saying a word, Yeldarb withdrew his arm and placed it carefully at his side.
Another snap-hiss of a training saber igniting filled the auditorium as the members of the amused audience watched. The Force must have whispered in Phoenix's ear; the Sith sidestepped the Falleen's lunge without turning around.
'They might have some potential after all,' thought Phoenix as he turned to face the second part of a double threat. 'I suppose Revenge was correct in choosing this Falleen as his Apprentice.'
Before Kalak could realize what was happening, his training lightsaber's cylindrical metal hilt flew from his hand and into the Consul's. From where it had fallen, Yeldarb's lightsaber hilt soared into the air in a giant arc before landing in the hands of Scholae Palatinae's Proconsul, Lucien Kaeth. The four Dark Jedi stood there, facing each other, allowing the other a moment to understand the significance of the event.
Under his breath, RevengeX whispered to the man standing next to him, "I'm bored." Cuchulain's baritone voice replied back, "Those kids must be my illegitimate sons."
"Followers of Scholae Palatinae," Phoenix spoke to the audience and the people who had come onto the stage, "this evening, I have the honor of presenting the first two gifts of the so-called 'holiday season.'"
When a curious, ignorant whisper ripped through the audience, Phoenix smiled and continued.
"The two Jedi Hunters on this stage have worked tirelessly for many months to improve themselves, their skills, our Clan, and the Brotherhood as a whole. This evening, I have the honor of presenting them with new robes - the robes of a Knight."
Before the applause erupted, there was a single shout that forced the others of the Clan to realize that Scholae Palatinae was still Scholae Palatinae: "Go buy us drinks!"
The audience roared.
HOUSE DIRECTION:
I would like to begin this section with an excerpt from Tarentum Consul DJM Sith Bloodfyre-Tarentae's most recent (and last for his second term as Consul) report:
The Brotherhood is not school, or work. We are not teachers, or bosses. We cannot press you to participate, we cannot force you to do "homework," or anything. This Club is a leisure environment, one that is meant to provide you with activity and entertainment. But, you must be willing to step up and involve yourself. Your House leaders are waiting to help you, but you need to put forward an effort and ask them to help you get involved. Email your House leaders, introduce yourself, and let them know what you want to do to be involved.
Did you read it? Read it again!
The DJB = leisure activity. Simple enough, right? If you do not have the time to be active in the DJB, don't worry about it! Come back when you have more opportunities. "Offline life" sucks sometimes and gobbles up our time, but I urge you not to fret. Beer and an armchair near the fire will be waiting when you come back.
Initiative. Don't be afraid to catch me on IRC and go, "Hey RevengeX! I'm <insert name here> and I'm interested in advancing in the DJB, but I'm not quite sure what to do". I'll be more than happy to show you the ropes and allow you to climb them.
We cannot force you to do anything. We cannot force you to do anything. We cannot force you to do anything. We can tell you what's going on and what you should do for our House, but we cannot force you to do anything. We can bug you, but we can't force you. It is your contributions that help us and allow us to thrive.
As a House, I would like us to all take a moment and think. Is the DJB taking up too much time? Do my House leaders (RevengeX and Cooch) know who I am and realize that I am interested in the DJB? Think about it for a moment.
As your Quaestor, and, ultimately, your friend, I urge you to consider your priorities. Honestly, I do not think the DJB should be very high on that mental list. While the DJB is fun and I encourage you to get involved, never do so at the expense of other obligations.
