Justicar Report

Ten days ago marked the one-year date of my appointment as Justicar. I decided to post a special report for this occasion which outlines what I've been doing for the last year, and what I plan on doing for the next. Of course I will also shamelessly plug the CoJ Wiki Articles, which I believe should be required reading for everyone. Anyways, on to the statistics...

Shadow Academy Hint

There are two questions that are commonly missed on the Chamber of Justice exam, so I wanted to point them out to everyone who might be taking this course in the future. For the following two questions, be sure to check the Dark Covenant before you answer:

_What is an Order of Advanced Incarceration, and who can put one into effect?

Who has the authority to punish members for infractions in the Shadow Academy? _

Quick Reminders

First - if you share a computer with anyone (family member, friend, coworker, etc) and you haven't already registered with me, please do so. Also if you recruit someone at some point in the future and you share a computer, you need to let me know - that way you avoid being prosecuted for cloning. Second – if you have created any material used by the Dark Brotherhood as a whole, please read over and consider signing the DB Copyright Release.

Conclusion

For every position I've held in the Brotherhood, as each year passes by I like to open my original application and see if I've achieved what I originally set out to do. In that spirit I have opened my Justicar application, in which I outlined the following:

_-Update and clarify sections of the Dark Covenant

-Modify IRC policy to protect members from Harassment

-Provide timely judicial administration

-Be available and accessible to all members

-Promote in-clan solutions to problems

-Create a website and additional CoJ resources

-Promote a safe and fun environment_

I believe I have made good progress in completing the goals I set forth for myself a year ago – although several of them are not tasks that can ever be “completed”, but I will continue my ongoing efforts on those points. I would also like to take this opportunity to lay out several goals for the upcoming year:

_-Further simplify and clarify the Dark Covenant

-Work more closely with the Consuls

-Demystify the Chamber

-Create anonymous complaint system

-Be more accessible to all club members _

These are the goals I personally want to push in the next year. Naturally there will be other tasks, other projects, issues that arise during the next twelve months – but I will keep these tasks in the forefront of my mind. If any of you think that I should add anything to this list please email me and let me know – remember my viewpoint is colored by the lens of my position, so input from all of you is crucial for me. If you ever have a suggestion, or any questions at all, please email me and we can talk – I promise I won't bite...usually.

Thank you...

I'd like to thank all those members who served the Chamber of Justice over this past year. Specifically BubbaX, Daniel Goad, Vlad, Donitz, Raken, Shikyo, Dante, Korras, Seraine, Phoenix, Duga, Malisane, and Mav. Without these members volunteering for a job that is critical yet often-overlooked and much maligned, the Brotherhood wouldn't have the safe and fun environment we all enjoy – thank you all.

Signed and Sealed in Justice,

Dark Jedi Master Kir Katarn

Justicar and High Protector of the Dark Brotherhood

I forgot to add, "Archived approximately 400MB of email" - jeeeeez people! :P

You fail, good day

doesn't know whether to clap or laugh

I just want to clarify something here. When you release something for use in the DJB, is it a requirement to sign the Copyright release? I remember this being a big deal during the split is why Im asking.

No, it isn't required - but would like it if everyone did, simply because we work as a sort of collective here and when one person decides to pull all their work it just creates a lot of work for others who now have to replace it. But we don't force anyone to sign the release.

Sorry, that last post was by me, I forgot I was still logged in to the test-profile.

CLONE!!!!

Clone!

I'm pretty sure Kir registered the clone with himself; not much harm in that as someone needs to made sure the n00bs are getting the right stuff from the database when they join.
