Members of Clan Plagueis,

Over the past two weeks I have challenged you to contact me, to give me ideas for the Identity of Our Clan. The response was tremendous as I received over twenty different e-mails discussing potential avenues that we could, as a Clan, pursue fictionally. I combined your desires with those of our heritage, clan force powers and my own personal twist... and then I ran it through a filter (DJK Syphoc Rilkel Kaeth, HEK Aedile) and came out with a refined product. The Ascendant Clan.

The word ascendant translates directly as "a position of dominance or controlling influence: possession of power, superiority, or preeminence." Ironically enough, our Clan Force Powers are labeled as "Dominance" as they exclusively deal with the idea of being able to manipulate those, and their minds, whom stand in our way. Many thanks to Sarin and Jonaleth Isradia for laying that groundwork many years ago... they are smart guys.

But how do we manipulate our allies and foes? We dominate their minds with the Force, manipulate trade and finances from our position in the Core, overcome their defenses with military prowess and operate covertly as both the Assassins and Scouts of the Brotherhood. We are soldiers, bureaucrats and the intelligence force of the Brotherhood. Fictionally, we make the going-on's of the galaxy our business and relay the pertinent information back to the Iron Throne. Or we use it to our gain... furthering the advantage of our Clan until we can rise up and claim the honor of First Clan.

So how does this translate for us all? Primarily, we are the Ascendant Clan: the Keepers of Darkness. Our place in the Brotherhood is to act as the forward element. Should their be an assignment that requires covert action - a deed by stealth - we hope the Iron Throne (the Grand Master) will come to us. Should he require a group of individuals to act as Scouts, or the more archaic term of "Rangers", it is our hope that he will come to us... asking of our services - which we owe to the Brotherhood. But it does not mean we are only servants of the Dark Lord.

We will continue to control economy and trade from our vantage point in the Core with our company - Sistros Acquisitions & Holdings. And with my arrival, we will create a standing army to enforce our will in the Jusadih System and the surrounding territories. Under the supervision of Vessicant, Ky and Alaris, we have begun to reassign our Fleet into a strategic, cohesive unit of military might. And last, but not least, we will create our own network of operatives as we establish our own Intelligence Bureau.

What does this mean for you? This means, fictionally, that many avenues will be available to you. You will be able to join our military forces: Army, Navy or Intelligence. Or you can pursue the scholarly avenue of the Brotherhood and take a more bureaucratic position within Sistros A&H. Ultimately, as your leadership team works on developing these fictional aspects of the Clan... these places will become available to you for use in your fictions and character development. Stay tuned for more as we execute these changes and expound on the fictional groundwork established by my predecessors.
