Tridens Quaestor Report

Greetings Tridens,

Hope the past two weeks have been as fun for you as they have for me. Midterms and reading week each had their ups and downs but nonetheless, they're over and its time to move onto something else. Anyways, this is my bi-weekly report. As I explain last time, I've divided up my report scheme as a House address every three months followed by bi-weekly updates of the House's progression.

I'm glad things have been working out so well in the summit so far. With the report scheme we'll developed for the entire summit it insures that you guys are hearing your fair share from the summit and I hope you guys appreciate that as much as I would have when I was a regular member. As well, I'm proud in the work each of the other summits have been doing since taking their positions. Both have settled into their positions nicely. Though you may not hear or see everything they do, I hope you guys thank them for their work as much as I do.

Aside from this, I'm glad that Tridens has done its part in the clan competition. Its nice to start my appointment as QUA with this type of event having come to an end. It provides me with a credible sources of intel of the current standings of the house and just where we need to go. Fortunately, we didn't have to wait for the completion of the runon to get started on this. As I've said before, and will say for the last time, we got our own AWOL check done and submitted to the clan summit for a double check. Once the Clan competition is marked, and the participation list compared to the AWOL list then we could say upto 15 ppl being dropped. Alot I know, but Tridens was once built up from a period of time where there was only one member in the house. I'm pretty sure we'll be alright ;)

Anyways, onto the report. As you know Evant and I will be switching off bi-weekly. He'll report on the activity we receive from the SA and MAA emails. Seph (who reports weekly) reports on the competitions available to you, and the end results. And myself on news and project updates. So, let's get to it.

News

New Combat Master: If you haven't heard, Sharad Hett Taldrya is the new combat master. I know personally I'm interested to see the direction he takes with the ACC. I personally love the platform, and hope to see things come from him that will continue to improve it.

March Gaming Competition: The gaming Tribune has released a new gaming competition. As we all know, I have my own issues with gaming in the DB and how its looked at but in light of this competition I admit I'm interested in results that come from it. I hope all of you that enjoy to game get involved in this, it really seems like an interesting competition: Over the cross of the month of March a list of targets will exist for members to "assassinate". Unfortunately this list is not to be made public. So go out and game everyone you can. If you end up defeating one of the marked targets you will earn the bounty on his/her head.

Clan Competition: We have finally came to the conclusion of the Clan competition "settling home". I would like to thank all those who participated, and remind you not to think that your activity will go unnoticed. In light of the conclusion of the runon, I've post a discussion thread on the MB to help future runons from being affected by the mistakes of the past. Summit Changes in Tarentum

Just want to send a quick congrats to KAP Apollo who's been appointed the new Gladius Aedile. I know he will do great things there.

With his placement it should round out the last of the recent summit changes. For those looking for a leadership position; with the BT closure it had limited much of your options, however I want you to know that if you want valuble experience and to very get your name in early for future position then keep your eyes on the project section of this report and see where you can be most useful. I've provided this opportunities for these reasons so don't hesitate to volunteer for something or email us asking if we need help.

Project Updates

Recruitment: So as you guys know, with the soon-to-be-removed AWOLs leaving us; I've wanted to find ways to reboost our membership and provide the house will relible recruits that aren't as likely to shook by the grandness of the DB and AWOLed earily in their careers. Unfortunately before we can look to recruiting through some of the more rewarding sorces for recruitment, we first have to make use of the regular pools of recruitment within the DB. If you look at the leadership manual on recruitment you can pretty much get a gasp of what we are doing at the moment. Leading a group that's been working its way throughout the rogues, Sephiroth has reported that they are making progression. Though they are still working on the lower leveled rogues, I'm hoping their work proves to be more fruitful when they get to the higher ranks. Nonetheless, I thank them for the work they've been doing.

Aside from this, if you are interested helping with the recruitment feel free to read over the recruitment manual in the resources section of the site and then feel free to contact Seph.

Once we get the rogue recruitment project finished, we will be moving onto the sources outside the DB for recruits.

Tridens Wiki: So I've taken up the head on this project, as you may have seen in my last report we have quite a bit to do for this project but we have a clear outline and are making some progression. Given the feedback I had for artists looking to help out with some graphics, I've decided to run a Logo competition for the house. Think of what Tridens means to you, and submit a graphical entry to myself (or register that you will be submitting one) by the 10th of March. After we have all the entries the logos will be put to a vote and the most popular will be placed on the wiki page as our logo.

Aside from this right now I've been focusing on gathering a DB history of the house. Going through reports, old Tridens sites, and questioning some of the veteran members has been long but rewarding work. Once I have a completed DB history of the house I will be updating the wiki page to reflect this.

For the most part this is how I will be going about updating the wiki page. In multiple entries spaced over a period of time. After the logo and DB history is completed I will be looking to start on creating a fictional history of the house that will look to include some of the DB history.

If you are interested in helping find or write out the DB history feel free to contact me. As for the fictional history, keep a look out at my next report for a recruiting call at that time.

Story Arcs: So myself, the Tridens and Clan summits, and two selected veterans of the house have been discussing future story arcs for the house's fictional development. While we've looked at a few different things the main topic at the moment is developing an idea of what role the house serves in the clan and from its place in Castle Tarentum. Once we have a clear understanding of this it will be much easier to figure out what sort of stories and events will be available for us to include as part of our house fictionally. A reminder, this story arcs will be used in a number of things. Some will become house competitions, others will be random events for use in the Chronicles. Still more may just become things that are to be included in our history, or expand into house vs. house or clan events.

Each week I'll try to outline the progression we have with this, but for now if you are interested in joining the collective group, or just have an idea to share in response to question of "what is our role in tarentum? what is our role in castle tarentum?" then please feel free to contact Seph, Evant, and myself.

Tridens Chronicles: So I've been holding off on this project until the clan competition had finally ended. Now it finally has, since I'm still trying to figure out some last minute details, I'm holding off the first post until tomorrow. I'll send a msg to the mailing list to inform you all of when the first post has been made.

But what the heck is this project anyways? Well, its to work as a continuous story that develops ourselves inbetween the major events; both as a house and as individuals. Further instructions will come out with the email tomorrow after the first post. Stay tuned, this should be exciting.

Special Thanks

Doni: In case you didn't know, for the past several weeks Doni has been a great assistance in the clan runon. As one of the few true leaders of the runon, Doni provided assistance in not only developing an interesting plot and helping it move already in areas it became stagnate, but Doni has also taken numerous hours of his own time to both edit ideas from other writers and posts for those we struggle with the finer points of writing. It's truly admirible to see an old dog like him still proforming on a day to day basis with new and old members alike so I would just like to take this time to thank Doni personally for his efforts.

Rekio: Again, another member that is fundamental to the entire progression of Tridens and Tarentum alike. When the runon was first struggling he took it upon himself to help clear up some issues and better strengthen the event. Likewise, as someone who's put countless hours into the Tarentum wiki pages with Oberst , which we are greatful to both them for, Rekio also takes it upon himself to help new members get a better gasp of the Yridian system and Tarentum's fictional day to day functions of some of the platforms and ships within the system. Lastly, Rekio has been termendous help lately with the summit on a number of projects providing sound advice on many of the current projects of Tridens and helping us produce much of the activity we've seen so far. Thanks Rekio.

Dock: As one of the first two people to step up to help the summit when we first asked for help, Dock has been great helping Sephiroth out with the recruitment project. The most important part of this project, especially when dealing with the rogues, is personalizing the emails to show the possible recruit that Tridens is interested in them but also that we are worth joining given the effort we put in to each of our members. Any success we see from this project is due in large part to him, so thanks Dock.

Highlights

Competition Highlight of the Week

Search for a new Tridens Logo: Designed to assist the House Summit in providing a working and knowledgable wiki page about their house, as well as provide a banner that the Tridens members can grow and expand under; this competition is about the creation of a new Tridens Logo. ACC Battles

DJK Raiju Kang vs. DJK Kazarelth: Not to take all the glory for myself, but as the only recent win lately I thought it would be good to use to put a burner under your butts. :P Raiju defeated Kazarelth in a QS battle.

Shadow Academy

Drichar Deis For the past couple week this cat's been ripping up the academy with all sorts of activity. Nice job!
