Consul Report

::bow::

Disciples of the Ascendant Path,

First, allow me to express my many apologies for not reporting last week. We had some last minute changes and, as I did not have answers, I felt it was better to wait until the following week provided some insight and perspective. Now, as it is, two weeks have passed since our last meeting - you and I - so there is quite a bit to catch up on. Let us begin the tale of me chasing my tail!

Clan News

There has been some progress on the Clan Prospectus, I have currently finished my preliminary draft of the introduction and the historical canon portion. I think my history may cast our history in a bit of a darker tone, but it is also the truth. There is a great deal of ambiguity circling our formation as two merged Clans... I hope to do it justice. But, do not worry too much about it... what is done is done. We are Clan Plagueis and we must carry that banner into forthcoming conflicts - united as a team. In short, the changes are meant for canonical purposes; do not be dismayed when they are posted.

We had a bit of a mix-up in our House Leadership this past week. The Satal Keto Quaestor, Kaliidrad, resigned his post to pursue the maiden of day-to-day life. I wanted to expressly thank him for his contributions to both House and Clan; he gave a lot of his personal time, attention and spirit to the job. In his wake, Aedile Alex d'Tana has been elevated to the position of Quaestor. Should you be interested in the future progress and possibilities that come with the position of Aedile... please contact Epis Alex via e-mail for more details.

As for activity generated by our Clan... I am saddened to say that we did an average job this past month. Only three of us participated in the Tribune:Fiction's competition "Time of War: Intercept." It is my hope that we will continue to develop external competition; especially with the forthcoming Independence Games on the horizon. It is imperative that we unite under a single banner for these massive, Brotherhood-wide competitions. Because it will not be out intentions, but our actual effort that will be recorded in the halls of history. And I want to, proudly, tell future generations of Clan Plagueis members that we gave it everything we had - all of our blood, sweat and tears.

Master At Arms Report: Kraval provides some perspective on the MAA's office in his latest installment; however, there is no mention to several of his News Post. Activities in the MAA's office include a change in policy where a recommendation for a medal or promotion must come from the appropriate leader of a member. In addition, he has upped the requirement to start a Brotherhood Family to Dark Adept. Last, but not least, we have 13 Families in the Brotherhood - the Xyler's joining the Brotherhood ranks.

The Message

To not necessarily be strong, but feel strong. It is something that each person must feel at least once in their life; to measure themselves against life, just once. It not only quenches our eternal desire to know our 'place' in the world, but to prove who we are and what we are capable of. And it is this most basic, this most primal urge that we must grasp in our pursuit of everyday life.

The Brotherhood should not be our battleground to test ourselves. Instead, it should be an extension of our everyday selves - something where we can demonstrate our unique perspective and talents. There must be a certain amount of balance between the actions we commit away from the computer and those we perform on it. We should bring - to the Brotherhood - the same professionalism and maturity we do with everything else in our lives. We should approach it with the same zeal and passion that we find in any of our hobbies. Be it the joy of camaraderie, the satisfaction of a job well done or the gratification of earning an award from your efforts in competition.

As I said before, this is not a proving ground. It is a classroom. A chance to grow and develop. To hear new ideas, to share new ideas, to open our minds and our hearts to the wisdom we have yet to hear and to provide our own insights to those whom are willing to listen. It is a chance to learn new techniques - writing and gaming. It may be your first opportunity to learn the joys, and pains, of leadership. Or it may be an arena to improve the latent, natural leadership qualities you possess.

But it should never become a place where we compete for loyalties. Or find satisfaction in the degradation of our fellow members. It is meant to be a place of harmony and pursuit of perfection. Not just for a clan, but...

For The Brotherhood.
