I've slowly been doing some work in the Fiction Forums so that it may provide a few more services to the members. This is the forum currently known as "Writer's Corner." It won't be called that for long as I'd like to come up with a name that has a bit more in-character feel to it. If someone has something good, send it. If it works I'll use it. Otherwise, we'll eventually come up with something.

You've noticed the subforums I've created by now. One will be the new home for all the fiction you publish there. This frees up the primary forum to house various other threads related to fiction or whatever members would like to discuss pertaining to fiction. Very soon I'll be moving all the member fiction to this subforum so here's your heads-up.

There's a second subforum for discussing official Star Wars literature. You might post here a particularly good Star Wars novel you came across and recommend it to others. Or you might put up a warning flag to stay away from something awful you were duped into buying and now wished you had your $7.99 back. Either way, I'm hoping we can use it as a filter to try and find the few good pieces of Star Wars fiction floating around out there. Feel free to discuss the comics or resource materials as well. Do us a favor though, try to describe why you did or did not like something. It may help others decide if it's worth their time. We don't all like the same things in an author's work. One man's Path of Destruction is another's Shatterpoint if you take my meaning.

There is Trivia now appearing in these forums too. I don't think we can get enough of it as fans. Trivia will randomly appear on various topics most likely geared towards the novels, etc., to keep with the fiction theme. I started easy this month and you all pretty much vaporized my questions in nothing flat. I'll deepen the waters a bit next time 'round and see if anyone drowns.

My Thanks

You owe me nothing, of course, but it makes it about 3 1/2 times easier for me to sort your competition submissions in a timely manner when you include your name and PIN in the document file names. 98% of you are doing this now and you have my thanks. The other 2% are no longer my BFF's.

This Month

I had a bit more time this month so I created four competitions hoping you would find at least one interesting. If not, write to me for a complete refund.

Time of War: Direct Action - This concludes my mind-altering 3-part epic competition. No competition will ever be as good as this. Many songs will be sung.

Mantle of Darkness - Write as your favorite Dark Jedi or Sith from Star Wars canon. Reveal secrets or other things perhaps unknown to us about their character.

Mandalorian vs. Jedi: Persuasion - I've seen this one kicked around a few different places. If you're a happy-go-lucky Mandalorian Dark Jedi, give us your take on why that meshes with Star Wars and the DB. If you're an embittered purist stuck in the past and tired of all these kids on your lawn, tell us why Mando Jedi have no place in Star Wars canon or our club.

Trivia: Bad Fiction - Bad fiction. We write it everyday, but no one has to pay for it. At least not with money. Answer these questions about Star Wars books I didn't like.

Projects

Everything I've been mentioning in previous reports is essentially done on my end. When we enter the next phases of these projects there'll be more work to do, but for now we've down-shifted to refit and rearm for what's to come.
