# House Caliburnus

Quaestor Report

_The Great Hall was filled with the members of Caliburnus, all standing together, waiting. The air seemed to ripple with excitement and hushed anticipation as all eyes turned to follow the cloaked figure that approached the front of the room. Templar and new Quaestor Yzarc Rellik Kaeth strode forward, flanked by Warrior and new Aedile Brent “Archangel” Ligur Victae on his right and Guardian and Rollmaster Q’win on his left.

As the Quaestor swept back the hood of his cloak, and his piercing blue eyes and matching mohawk scanned over the gathered members of Caliburnus, silence fell over the room. Slowly, four other figures filed in to stand behind the Obelisk, each cloaked and hooded, their identities shrouded in shadows. Each of the figures stood quietly, patiently watching the crowd, their eyes focusing on the two chosen members.

At an almost imperceptible nod from Yzarc, the figures moved out toward their targets, slipping through the crowd like serpents gliding through water. Coming to a stop, they circled the chosen individuals who was then ushered forward, flanked on either side by the cloaked figures. As they approached the Quaestor, the chosen two were motioned to kneel, as did those beside them.

Yzarc stepped forward, a gleaming medallion in her hands. Within a platinum frame rested a black onyx stone, inlaid with a brilliant ruby serpent. Slowly the Quaestor lowered the medallion over each of the chosen one’s heads. Pausing to lift their chins enough to force their eyes to meet his, the Templar’s piercing gaze studied the two of them for a moment.

“Rise, and from this day forth, Impetus Korin-M’Nar Palpatine and Jack “Jackal” Okason, you both are to be known and recognized as one of the honored few. You have both earned your place within the Order of the Serpent, wear this medallion with pride, but never forget that your duty is to this House, and to me. Impetus, you are the Proselyte of Subtlety and Jack, you are the Proselyte of Fury.”

Only then did the cloaked figures stand, and sweep back their hoods, each proudly displaying their own medallions as the members of the Order. _

First of all, I’d like to apologize for not having come out with a report sooner. School work just slapped me around. Hopefully stuff will start falling into a routine now. Now, to the real stuff.

Rasilvenaira has stepped down from Quaestor. Fortunately for us, she’ll still be around. I’d like to thank Ras wholeheartedly for bringing Caliburnus to where it is today. As I’m sure you can all tell, I’ve been appointed Quaestor in Ras’ place. I plan on continuing projects that she started, or those that she had in the works. I’ve also been asked if I’m continuing with the Souls of Darkness, Order of the Serpent, and Serpent’s Fangs, and the answer is yes.

The new Aedile, is Warrior Brent “Archangel” Ligur Victae. Huge congratulations to you, dude! (Bad Religion will now be blasting on the PA system in the Caliburnus headquarters :P)We have appointed in his place as Battle Team Leader of the Souls of Darkness, Warrior Corin Nal’Kethar. Also, we have two new members in the Souls of Darkness, Impetus as the Proselyte of Subtlety for February 2008 (yes, we’re that far behind) and Jack as the Proselyte of Fury for March 2008. April’s member will be named at the end of April.

Lucien’s Shadow Academy Bonanza Competition has been extended until dreaded tax day, April 15th. Check your e-mails for more information on this.

Syn Kaek has been appointed Master at Arms. This is his second term at the position.

I’d like to congratulate Ha’tsuha’ru on his promotion to Protector and Rayne on her promotion to Jedi Hunter.

I’d also like to extend a welcome to Apprentice Zala, our newest member.

As I’ve said above, I plan to continue and/or start projects that Rasilvenaira was working on. I remember asking people in my final Aedile report for people who are good with wikis. I’ve only gotten one response, and that’s definitely not enough, so if you feel competent with working with the wiki, e-mail Archangel and myself.

I also plan on releasing new competitions soon, similar to the monthly competitions that Rasilvenaira was doing. I will be working with Ras and getting all the older competition winners their well deserved medals.

Also, in accordance with the new Master at Arms’ policy, we can award merit awards for good amounts of activity and it will not take away from a promotion request, so expect to see more merit awards to fly your way, but you still have to work toward them. :P

Members of House Caliburnus, like you all are, reside in the channels of:

• #scholae This is the channel of Clan Scholae Palatinae.

• #caliburnus This is the channel of our House, House Caliburnus.

IRC is extremely important because it exists in real-time, or something you say is read the second you hit enter.

Other channels you should know about are:

• #db This is the channel of the Dark Brotherhood as a whole.

• #dbgaming This is the channel you must be in to game on a normal gaming day.

• #outerrim This is the channel you must be in to game during the Inter-Club Training Event (ICTE)

I’m chiding myself more than anyone else this week, however, take heed to what I’m going to say, as it will help you out in the long run.

Participate, and as long as it’s possible, contribute to the Clan, House, your Clusters of Fire, your rank, your awards.

Otherwise, make sure you send your competition entries to myself, Archangel, and Q’win. If you are experiencing problems with any member, contact anybody in the House or Clan Summit, we will either work stuff out, or help you to come to a compromise. We, the House Summit, are here for you. Our task isn’t to lead you, it is to guide and help you along the way. You know how they say the teacher sometimes learns more than the students? It’s true, Archangel, Q’win, and myself are going through learning experiences as much as every single one of you are.

On that note, let’s get ready for the Independence Games, during which Scholae Palatinae will take down the “great” Taldryan.
