Rebirth of Dark Orb
Hey guys, welcome to the newly reborn Dark Orb Phyle in House Qel-Droma of Clan Arcona. I am Dark Jedi Knight Legorii, your new Tetrarch. This team was created for a few reasons, to equalized the Houses of Arcona for one thing. It was also reborn to help guide new members of the Clan to reach their full potential under the guiding hand and tutelage of the senior members.
About your Tetrarch
Right, well I have been serving as a loyal Arconan for a year now, and love the Clan as much or more than everyone else. I have been an integral part of two previous teams in Arcona. The first was Cabal Cronal, a group of spies and stealth agents that was disbanded after a while. Then, more recently, I served as Corporal of the Blue Mist battleteam, helping the Commander Talos d'Tana get it up on its feet. And now, I have a team of my own to work with.
Fictional Basics
The squad will be made up of squad members and then bulked up by a large party of NPCs. These NPCs will be a group of elite marines who will be assigned to each of the squad members and tasked with different tasks as part of a whole; deep strike, rapid response etc. I will go into detail about the specific jobs later on.
Each real member of the squad will be assigned 5 NPCs to fill out his squad. When role-playing, the character will be able to use these NPCs and perform missions as a squad, sometimes with 2 or more squads joining up to perform a mission. Dark Orb itself will be a squad of squad leaders, with the squads being brought together to form an attack group as and when required.
Policy Information
I intend to run competitions nearly constantly, starting with a motto competition. The competitions will have two weeks time for submissions, with an intended one week overlap. If I do not get many submissions to these competitions, I will be forced to cut the amount I provide, and less shinies for you guys. Now, I would appreciate it if you guys could talk with me over IRC or email about what kind of competitions you like. I want to base everything around the team, so what do you like? Graphics? Short fictions? Run-ons? Gaming? Flash games? Just drop a hint here or there and you'll get what you're interested in.
We must keep the purpose of the team in mind, and to fulfill our role and succeed as a team. To do that, we need activity. I am not going to demand all kinds of activity from Dark Orb, but I expect participation in the competitions as much as possible, as well as participation in House and Clan competitions to make Dark Orb the legendary team it can be. If its been a week or two since any word has been heard from any member, I will be shooting them a casual email inquiring what's up. Most of the time everyone has a good reason, since real life takes precedence, I just like to know what's going on.
Running Projects
There are a couple projects I'm working on for the team at the moment. First, we need to get a working wiki page up, and I will be spending the next week putting some high quality information about the team on the wiki. If anyone wants to lend a hand for that, just snag me on IRC or email me and I can get you involved. I will be putting the first Dark Orb competition up to start Wednesday, so check the listings for that. Also, the Aedile is running his bi-monthly competition, a fun and easy Monster Truck flash game that you should all try and participate in. Your new Quaestor, Tyren Atema, also has a competition running at the moment, and participation is expected.
