[BAC Doomsday, 1130 hours, conference room B]

A collection of men and women dressed in low ranking New Republic uniforms gathered in the small, unfamiliar conference room. Many seemed incapable of sitting still, shifting uncomfortably in their seats. There was less background conversation than normal, as well as there being fewer seats than in their usual conference room back home. Many of the younger attendees had had to surrender their chairs to higher ranking officers.

An older gentleman dressed in a New Republic second lieutenant's uniform stood at the front of the room, hands clasped behind his back. Every few seconds he fidgeted with his uniform, looking positively annoyed by it. He seemed just about ready to speak when a group of five privates entered the room, talking amongst themselves. Seeing there was nowhere to sit, they took up a position at the back of the room and quickly quieted down.

"Friends, please let me take this opportunity to welcome some of our new members," Scion began, gesturing towards the men who had just entered the room. "From right to left, please welcome Syndroid, Squidbilly, Valen Isenheart, Zear and Vilious to our esteemed organization. Please make an effort to make them all feel at home despite our... unusual circumstances."

"As I am sure you are all aware by now, we are on our way to Prakith. Our ship, the..." he fumbled for the word, "Chancellor, is part of a New Republic task force under orders from Admiral Pellaeon to investigate a facility there. Please do not be alarmed if you see Imperial officers aboard. They are Taren... er... they have been assigned to our task force as well."

"In any case," the Rollmaster continued, "and whatever challenges await us on Prakith, may the Darkness guide you always. Thank you."
