Report #5 – June 15th, 2008

• Generally it’s been a slow week, but there are a few things coming up. The release of the Taldryan Times should be soon, and following that will be the Clan competition pitting both Houses against one another to see which is truly the dominant House. It is a few weeks past when I had hoped to have it released, but work has taken away a lot of my energy during the week.

• There were a couple of small leadership changes in Ektrosis, so congratulations go out to Swifty and Narad for their appointments as Battleteam Leaders. Also, Sidarace was chosen as the newest Dinaari Intern.

• We had a number of new members join the Clan these past couple of weeks. Everyone please welcome Mollock, Zion, Jegora, Taryn-Ryn and Virgil. We also had a few previous members return to the fold, so welcome back to Itachi and Kraval!

• The bulk of the IG rewards were handed out, so a big congratulations to everyone who received a merit medal, especially Vlad and Vardar are their Steel Crosses! Tarax has also earned himself a GC for his work and dedication as Aedile of Dinaari

• For all of the Journeyman below DJK there is a competition specifically designed for you. You can find the competition information here

• IG results should be out soon. Everything has been graded and now we’re just waiting on all of the scores to be put together.

• Applications are being taken for the job of Left Hand of Justice. You must have completed the CoJ course to even think of applying.

• The DGM released a report, which is always a good thing to read. There was also a reports released by the newest Wiki Tribune, RevengeX

Not a lot of this section this time around. The DGM report does have a few good looks showing some of the upcoming Star Wars things. Still holding out hope that Force Unleashed will actually show up on PC…with multiplayer. One can hope :P

On the rumor mill, there may be various job openings coming out in the DB. Always keep an eye out on the DB news as the most important information will show itself there. Also, chatting on IRC is the best way to find out what’s new and interesting.

Recently, another Clan has decided to use some under-handed tactics to bump up their Clan with active members. While “legal”, I would hope that Taldryan is above such dealings. We are always looking to get new members to our Clan. People who are active are hard to come by, so it is imperative that we find and keep as many as we can. That being said, there is a line that shouldn’t be crossed. Directly recruiting is a big “no-no” in my books. Although again not exactly illegal, it is underhanded and just not in the best interests of everyone. It hurts one Clan and makes your Clan look terrible in the eyes of others.

I haven’t heard of any of this happening in Taldryan, and I am quite happy about it. If you know of others trying to recruit our members, please tell me. We’re all here to have fun. Trying to drag members from another Clan to your own does go against that. Leaders should not condone such behaviors, and those that do should be called out for their actions. As Consul I am responsible for this Clan as a whole, so we should always ensure that the name Taldryan doesn’t get damaged by a few bad apples.
