Clan Plagueis,

I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday over the Fourth of July. I know the Americans were all outside (for once) enjoying the fireworks. And our honorable SBM, GodoNurok, even offered to let us rejoin Britain... if we so desired it. We have had some major developments in our clan and its leadership in the past couple weeks... and I hope to outline them all in greater detail today. So strap in, we have a lot of ground to cover!

DB News

Sarin recently accepted the resignations of three prestigious positions: Tribune: Gaming, Tribune: Wiki and Combat Master. These positions have all, since then, been filled with an exceptional caliber of members. Be sure to congratulate KPN RevengeX on his appointment as T:W, DJM Bloodfyre on his position of CM and OT Dante as the new T:G.

Tribune:Fiction Report: Raken has released a new report that discusses several developments in his neck of the woods, including a delay on some project completions. It also discusses this month's new competitions. This is an area we have slacked in and need to address immediately.

Tribune:Wiki Report: RevengeX did not release a report per se, but he has released a news post pertaining to the fair use image audit, applications for new positions and a new policy on editing wiki articles. It has some very informative information for all of you.

Head Master Report: Aabsdu released a new report bringing up some developments and outlines for the future of the Shadow Academy. He also has released a new Degree that has been a long time coming. And the featured course for this report is "Lightsaber Studies"... go... do it now.

Clan News

A lot on this front... so I will knock it down as it comes up.

Clan Development. The War of Ascension is a very big part of our current and progressing history. It is going to be the framework for a bunch of our future projects and initiatives. One such example is our Clan Merit Program; your participation determines your military rank. We have recently begun work on changing some portions of the CP site to display these new changes and all the glamour that comes along with it (uniforms, rank insignia, branch war banners, etc). Once I have the final piece from Anubis, I can push Dacien on this a bit more. (Yea, I just called you out Anubis.)

Position Jockeying. I have accepted two resignations this week. Both of these members are exceptional people, but they simply lack the time to give their lives away from the keyboard and the Brotherhood the necessary attention. As such, Famosus Aspicio has resigned Clan Roll Master (I am not looking for a replacement) and Syphoc Rilkel Kaeth has resigned House Exar Kun Quaestor. I have moved SBM Godo Nurok to the position of HEK QUA. Look towards him to release more details about the position of HEK AED.

Clan Roll Master. I am assuming the daily grind of Clan Roll Master. It is a lot of work, but I have been building our Clan Leadership to handle the heavier parts of the day-to-day affairs. This is their 'big test' and I look forward to seeing how it works. This also means that if you have any questions about a Master, advancement within the ranks, or anything in general... shoot me an e-mail ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]).

Chain of Command and the Consul... and you. The Brotherhood operates on a hierarchy. The Grand Master is at the top, but there are a layers between him and the average member. That does not mean you cannot approach the Grand Master with an idea or an issue. It does, however, mean that you should contact your House Leaders and Clan Leaders before you reach out to the GM with a question or idea. It may be something that I can easily answer or an idea that may have been previously attempted in our club's long, distinguished history.

Long story short. Your Consul is your Dark Council representative... come to me any time you have a problem or an issue. Otherwise, the GM/DGM is just going to turn you around to ask me. Save yourself the gas money! :-p

Where has the Consul been?!?! Yea, I have been fairly absent over the past two weeks. Of course, it is with a reason. I recently was able to witness the union between one of my best friends (DJK Korbin of CSP), but as a member of the bridal party and a long-time friend... I spent several days helping him prepare, as well. Once I bounced back to my regular routine, I got slammed with a Holiday Weekend at my job. And... as I have stated before... my job keeps me busy on weekends. But all is... normal? I think.

THE FIN

We are on the up and up folks. We just need to focus all of that talent and energy on participation. I know it is attractive to run competitions and work on major projects, but without the day-to-day grind of competition entries... our club ceases to exist. The same goes with our Clan.

My commitment this month has been to get at least ten entries for each of our big clan competitions (see: War of Ascension) and at least six entries for major DB-wide competitions (see: Death of a Clan & Prophetical). I encourage each of you to carve some time out to help me in the pursuit of this goal. Additionally, I will be handing off my Current Events competition to my Proconsul and beginning a more clan-oriented string of events meant to help shape our identity via fictional development.
