If someone had told me six weeks ago that I would be rejoining the Clan and Quaestor of the House I would have said you had been tucking into my wine stock (Well Xathia's maybe). So let me take a moment to thank you all for your support and to the Summit for giving me the job. Also a special thanks to Rilkel for his services as both Aedile and Quaestor.

Okay then, on with the show. This weeks report is going to be unusually large so apologies for that. We have a lot to get through from announcing a new Aedile, competitions galore and the case of the under appreciated employee.

<font size="6">W</font>ell aside from me being appointed as Quaestor we also have a few other announcements to make.

New Aedile

Possibly the toughest decision I have ever had to make, I had A LOT of interest in the job and some first class applications. I think it's worth saying that any one of you who applied could have done the job of Aedile justice.

In the end I felt that we ought to be giving some of the newer members the chance to shine, afterall its our new folk that will define the future. I know some of you are going to be bitterly disappointed but all of you who applied are going to play a big, big part in the future of the Clan and indeed the Brotherhood so keep up your incredible work. I have the GREATEST of respect for each and every one of you. If you feel like you want to talk to me about it then I encourage you to get in touch with me.

So after waaay too much soul searching I decided to go with Ralph Vundu please wish him the very best if you should see him. I will be spending a lot of my time helping to guide and train him for the rigors of command.

BTL Appointed

With Mister Derevko stepping down as BTL we need a new replacement, this was also difficult as we have a lot of very talented members. I already have someone in mind for the job but just waiting for them to get back to me. So expect confirmation on that in the next couple of days.

Trainers Wanted

Mister Bloodfyre is looking for trainers for the ACC, if its something you fancy having a go at then I encourage you to get in touch with him. Here is what he had to say:

**"Plain and simple. Trainers wanted. There's a couple now (3), one on leave (Quejo). I'd rather not have 2-3 people dealing with 8 battles a piece. I'd rather have 12 people dealing with one or two a piece at a time. I don't know that I need 12 now, but I'm interested in bringing on more Trainers as soon as possible. You want to be a part of it? Send me an email. Tell me about your time in the DB, shoot me off a piece of fiction, and especially tell me about your experience in the ACC.

No time limit. I'll be accepting applications until I feel like I have enough Trainers. Help your fellow Clanmates and DB friends. If you're a talented writer, we can definitely use you. Welcome to the second event of the <font size="3">War of Ascension: The First Battle of Kapsina.</font>

Fiction: The Fiction section for this event is identical to the last one. Submit a fiction in .doc, .rtf, or .txt, minimum of 1 page, no maximum. Write about how your character is involved with the Battle. Are you planet-side, assassinating one of the other leaders on the surface? Perhaps you're in one of the fighters in the massive dogfight above the surface. Or maybe you're on one of the two Capital Ships. If you're character wouldn't be on Kapsina during this time, write about an NPC in one of these situations, or about your reactions to the event from wherever you may be.

Well what can I say? You've all done an absolutely incredible job this week, activity has been high anyway over the past four weeks but this breaks, nay SHATTERS! all previous efforts. A very, very big well done people. We have a few stars this month though. Bal has done incredibly well, he's a competition machine! Kara clearly doesnt know when to take a break :P Impossible effort by Mister Laigerick, not to mention an influx of activity from Octavia. Keep it up! Make my job harder, see if I care :P

<font size="6">S</font>ometimes in life you have to laugh, and nothing amuses me more than the stupidity of mankind. As a race we can be monumentally stupid even with our own lives. Thus I have been a fan of something called the Darwin Awards. Let me quote from a book of theres I happen to have: "Darwin Awards commemorate those individuals who ensure the long-term survival of our species by removing themselves from the gene pool in a sublimely idiotic fashion."

I am going to tell you about a few to give you a taste for what the book is all about, but if you fancy a closer looker you can visit their web site at www.darwinawards.com and if you happen to catch a copy in a book shop I would recommend it. Though any death is tragic you do sometimes have to wonder about some people!

Please bare in mind these are TRUE stories. Then be glad we at least were gifted with common sense.

A couple of construction workers fast approaching their 30's who apparently had considerable experience in their trade fell almost a 100 feet to their deaths. On closer examination it seems they were cutting a hole in some very thick concrete. The two continued to cut out a large circle but none seemed to possess the forsight to realise they were in the MIDDLE. To compound their lunacy neither had remembered to wear their safety harness.

Another case saw two staff from a Burger King outlet conspire to rob thousands of dollars. It was planned meticously, the night manager would pretend to be the victim whilst a co-worker would be the robber. The night manager was to be bound and gagged in a walk in meat freezer whilst her conspirator would start a small fire. The fire would prompt the fire department to arrive and save the day. The only snag is that the fire didnt actually catch to the following morning. When the fire brigade did show up to put out the fire they discovered the night manager in the freezer. She subsequently died of hyperthermia. It also turns out that her hands were bound so losely and with the door open she could easily have escaped her fate.

And an honorable mention...

Two young girls decided to embark on a road trip in the winter season in Canada. In their efforts to reach their destination they made one wrong turn after another, it wasn't long till they were both hopelessly lost. Yet even as they managed to driver through smaller and smaller roads with such signs as 'Keep Out' and 'No Tresspassing' they continued undetered. Somehow their car became lodged in some rocks and the girls made considerable efforts to free the car. Somehow they managed to set fire to their car!? Both shaken and scared they fled their smoking vehicle and fled into the Canadians wilds leaving behind a survival kit which contained amongst other things a blanket, flashlight, candle and even flares! Now without shelter, no means of keeping warm or even a sense of where the hell they were, both decided to head off in the hope of finding someone. For more than two hours they roamed the snowy tundra, blindly stumbling through trees. Their journey came to an abrubt end however when they walked over a river that had frozen over, with a crunch they fell in. Surprisingly both girls survived their epic journey of surival. But I will have the book leave some closing remarks: _**"Between them, the women lost two feet, seven additional toes and four fingers to frostbite."

_S_o that completes my first report as Quaestor, hope you all enjoyed it as it was a little different from usual. I welcome all feedback, insults and bribery. So if there's something you would like to see more or even less of I encourage you to let me know via email.

It's been a really good week with excellent levels of activity, this only bodes well for future events such as the Great Jedi War. In the meantme remember there are some nice easy ways of getting noticed. Shadow Academy Exams not only teach you some great things but also it helps towards getting nice fat medals and promotions. Another place you can earn fame and fortune is through participation in competitions. All my future reports, including this one will list all the events that apply to you lot. So have a go, as even if you dont place its still a good demonstration of activity, just be sure to mention it to your superiors.
