FAIRUSE IMAGE AUDIT... COMPLETE?

Almost! It is about 90% complete.

We have a few more letters to go. They will be assigned to the new members of the Staff.

USER AUDIT:

As of right now... this very moment... there are 618 registered users on the DJBWiki.

Several are duplicates.

Several have/will never be[en] used.

Beginning later this month, I will sift through this list and do one of three things for each: 1) rename, 2) delete, or 3) leave it alone. If you receive an email from me concerning your DJBWiki username, please respond ASAP!

Yay for audits.

NEW WIKI POLICY:

(Taken directly from my July 5th news post.)

As some of you may have noticed, I separated the former "Guidelines" page into two: "DJBWiki:Guidelines" and "DJBWiki:Editing Policies". What's the difference? The "Editing Policies" are mandatory. Although much of it is the same from the old Guidelines page, I have added one new rule after discussion with the Staff and receiving approval from Sarin:

"If a member demonstrates the severe inability to use the Wiki correctly on at least three occasions, the member will be banned from the Wiki until they take the Wiki Basics course. This will be decided on a case-by-case basis by the Wiki Staff."

What does this mean?

You don't have to take Wiki Basics to register for an account on the Wiki, but if you show that you have no clue as to what you are doing, you will be banned, after three warnings from the Staff, until you take Wiki Basics. To those of you who haven't taken Wiki Basics, but seem to know what you are doing, good job.

NEW STAFF MEMBERS:

WIKI PROJECTS:

1) Fairuse image audit. (<span style="color:#FFFF00">In progress...</span>) We have gone through about 90% of the 1,628 files that are marked with the "Fair use files" category. Several duplicates were deleted; several files were renamed; and several images received an Image Category.

2) User audit. (<span style="color:#FF0000">Waiting...</span>) Usernames must be either your full dossier name or a part of your dossier name. Duplicate usernames will be flagged for deletion. Usernames must be either linked to a "User page" or a redirect to the user's character page. (Begin: July 20)

3) Clear the Dead-end pages list. (<span style="color:#FFFF00">In progress...</span>) There are 2 more Dead-end pages. There used to be about 30. Yay!

4) More competitions. (<span style="color:#FF0000">Waiting...</span>) Props to Clan Taldryan for using the Wiki for their "Swift Justice" competition. As for me, I don't really know what kind of competitions I want to set up for you all... Staff, there's a brainstorm on the horizon! (Teehee!)

5) Rejuvenate the staff. (<span style="color:#00FF00">Complete.</span>) People left the staff, and I got new people. I have Staff members from nearly every Clan of the Brotherhood.

6) Categories audit. (<span style="color:#FF0000">Waiting...</span>) We will go through every category on the Wiki. We will find categories that can be consolidated, categories that are no longer needed, and categories that should be separated. (Begin: August 15)

7) Project: Realism. (<span style="color:#FF0000">Waiting...</span>) From the Community Portal: "Join the crew in reviewing articles to make sure they are in line with Star Wars (SW) realism, SW known (species, vehichles, powers, etc...) elements, in concord with DB timeline (no you have not lived for 300 years), and DB policies." (Begin: July 30)

8) Tagged articles audit. (<span style="color:#FF0000">Waiting...</span>) 291 articles are considered "Under Construction." 26 are considered "Underlinked." 20 apparently have quality problems. 18 are considered questionable. It's time to go through and turn those big numbers into doughnuts.
