We have the feud which has taken more twists and turns than a formulae one race track, Braecen and Yzarc appearing from the mists of legend. Not sure what you guys and gals make of it, but I for one will be glad to have a quiet week whenever that happens :P</p> <p>As you can expect the Feud continues to dominate the agenda, we did of course encounter some technical difficulties that being events changing or even being introduced at the last minute with no indication of there being any extra time. Then we had people knocking heads about the best way forward. Never seen the like, hopefully we never will again. Couple that with possibly the worst summer I have ever encountered (heavy rain, silly heat...more rain) and it's been absolutely fabulous.</p> <p>I was told we'd have some results out by now from one of the organisers, but alas not. I'll just assume we've won it :P</p> <p>

</p> <table width="20%" border="0" align="left" cellpadding="5"> <tr> <td>

**You need a feud organising? Don't know who else to turn to? Then call...THE A TEAM!**

</td> </tr> </table> <p>*War of Ascention - On hold! *

Read carefully people, on hold. Not cancelled. In light of the Feud it has been put on hold till it's over, at which point we all crack open a bottle of bubbly and celebrate our new found freedom. Once it is over you can expect Mister Alaris to announce the next round of events and competitions.</p> <p>*Clan Summit - They have returned *

Mister Braecen and Mister Yzarc have returned, I suspect the pair of them went on the same holiday but all I have to say about that is I am most disappointed. Least either of them could do is send us a postcard.</p> <p>Dark Jedi Brotherhood - Defeated!

I don't know about the rest of you but I alwas assumed that this order would be brought to its knees by internal strife or by those hippie Jedi types. Apparently not, as recent turn of events demonstrate. Not armies of millions marching against us, not the hippies, not the accursed bunny rabbit! Nay, a virus! Or something like that. Efforts are being made to scrub all the systems clean, presumably using a bit of soap and elbow grease, everything appears to be back up and running. My sage advice to you is keep an eye on your computers for viruses, spyware, rootkits and anything else that's keen to devour your children and threaten our all evil peace.</p> <p>*CLAN FEUD - 'Uneasy Alliances' *

Any one ever watch the A-team? A group of ex-military types who are bursting with character and life, I liken the Feud to those crazy ol' guys. At the end of every episode our would-be heros are trapped, normally in a fully equipped garage with enough power tools to set up their own home improvements store. Then in a matter of minutes and whilst the bad guys have presumably run off for a spot of lunch they build the ultimate in bad guy busting vehicle/tank/plane/bulldozer/boat/UFO and win the day. Only in the case of the feud I see their masterpiece 'fail to proceed' as we say in the trade, wheels falling off, engine blowing up etc. Love it when a plan comes together.</p> <p>Still, all a bit of a giggle really. My Quaestor like mutant powers suggests you treat this as a chance to warm up, practice on your events for the bigger bugs later on in the DB calender. There are actually two web sites for this feud. Two you say? Yes, two! The links to them are as follows</p> <p>Main site: [http://diabolos.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/UNEASYALLIANCES/news.html

](http://diabolos.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/UNEASYALLIANCES/news.html)Backup site: http://www.scholaepalatinae.darkjedibrotherhood.com/uneasyalliances/index.html</p> <p>And don't worry people, I have the champagne on ice!

</p> <p>

Current Competitions</p> <p>Below is a list of events which House Exar Kun can take part in. The more you enter the better, not only will your leaders be REALLY impressed but who knows? You might actually win yourself a shiny</p> <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td>Title: **</td> <td>Melancholy of the Elder **</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Requested By: </td> <td>SWL Raken </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2"></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Specifics: </td> <td>Fearsome. OOC: This is for <font color="#FF0000">**ELDERS ONLY **</font>and is intended as an opportunity for them to continue their character's development. Most competitions are geared towards newer members so I'd like to experiment here with activities directed towards this class. If successful, I'll create specific events for Equites and Journeymen to participate in as well that would allow them the same opportunity to advance their characters. </td>

**Can you tell what it is yet? Apparently this is a BFG9000...**

</td> </tr> </table> <p>Mercifully I can say my wheel changing days are over, and it's just as well or frankly I wouldn't have lived to see my 30th birthday and what was made crystal clear is that I am lacking in any fitness whatsoever. I'm the sort of guy who'd rather drive to his local shop than walk, who prefers butter with his toast, who prefers extra suger in his tea. Thus today I found myself watching the olympics. I didn't intend to, infact I am rather unimpressed by sport. Sure it sounds good as a concept but the idea of exerting yourself just seems plain daft to me. The event I happened to catch was cycling, it took me about 15 minutes to realise they were women. Yes, I know, I dont get out anywhere near enough!</p> <p>From my best guess they were peddling up a mountain, clearly exhaust, every peddle pure agony! This is the part where I put my feet up and devoured a chocolate bar whilst declaring 'I could do that, it's easy'. The commentator got especially distressed when one of them lost a chain, like they had lost a leg or something. What surprised me more, was just how mad the local chinese were. Not only did they design a course intended to kill people, they also sent out a fleet of cars and motorbikes to follow them around. To be fair, half of them were probably filming but even so. One false move and the would be cyclists would become road kill from the convoy of moving vehicles. </p> <p>Much to my surprise the brits won that race, with the commentator proudly declaring no brit had ever done it before. At that the winning girl promptly leapt from her bike, scattering fellow riders, staff and anyone in her way to hug her team mates. She was pretty pleased. Not sure her team mates were so delighted, one imparticular, judging from the look of alarm, seemed as though a snake was crushing the life out of her.</p> <p>My olympic interest did not end their, perhaps spurred on by the mad welsh girl I decided to watch a spot of archery. Now I don't know what you lot think of when I say archery. Presumably the same as me? You know, bit of wood with some string and a few arrows with feathers. That's my understanding, we all remember the stirring tales of robin hood, riding through the glen, with his band of merry men. </p> <p>Apparently things have moved on a bit since then. What these women (yes, more women, though to be fair you could actually tell) were using were not bows and arrows. It was like nothing I have ever seen before, looked more high tech than a NASA space shuttle. There were bits on it I couldn't even begin to guess at their purpose. With a bit of kit that puts a sniper rifle to shame I expected a bullseye every time, alas no. Seems even with NASA approved technology it still doesn't improve your chances.

_</p> <p></p> <p>A_nother 'one of those' weeks. Coupled with Feud chaos, missing people, viruses and me trying to play a guitar I can honestly say I am glad it's over. Here's hoping for a much better week. My advice to you, my underlings, is to relax! Watch people do all the hardwork in the Olympics, have a go at the feud, try your hand at some SA courses or just get on mIRC for a friendly chat. Odds are you'll see me there, grumbling like the old man I am :P</p> <p>See you all next week.</p> <p>Your servant,

Godo Nurok </p>
