News:

A few big things going on in the news. First and foremost, The DJB website has been resurrected once again. Jac has added a new “Firewall” which should remedy this SQL injection crap. Its been difficult to get around with the site being down, but once again Jac hath saved us. If you get the chance, give Jac mad thanks for dealing with this major pain in the ass. If you run into more problems with the site, contact Jac and he will be sure to address the issues.

Next up, The HDS RM position is now open for applications. Except today is the last day. I’ve only received one application thus far, so if you contact me soon your chances are good.

Lucien and our very own Robin Hawk have added a new facet to the CSP nobility ranks. Everyone gets their very own lacquered Stash-box! So, now we all know where we hide our drugs! Additionally, we have some Nobility-ups. Here are all our new Nobles.

Korvyn has become a Noble. Congrats dude!

Thran O – Reached the rank of Marquess, whatever that means :P

Next Up, Blade was promoted to Sith Battlemaster. Some of you thought that Blade was gonna leave the clan and he fully intended to. Fortunately for us, I convinced Blade to stay. Part of being in a group like ours is to include routine reward and continual thanks. If you see Taters around, thank him for all the bitchin work he’s done for the House and Clan. E.g, Arx Ondorii, CSP SnakeEyes warriors, and tons of other things. Thanks Blade, and congrats. It was LOOOONG overdue.

I still see some Clusters of Fire coming into my inbox. Gaming is an integral part of the DB experience. We are fortunate enough to have the Tribune of Gaming in our House. So, If you all have questions about gaming…You should bug Dante a lot. Even if you don’t have questions, you should bug Dante a lot. I don’t know much about gaming, but I know there are regular Gaming nights and ITCE still going on. So, prod Dante if you are anxious to get your game on!

I think that about covers it for this week. I will leave you with a bit of a rant… The Topic: Hippies.

I have a major problem with Hippies. Hippies are the most ill informed, hypocritical, and generally despicable people on this planet. The Hippie movement started in the 1960s and embraced Free-love, change, and accepting people as they are. Back then, The hippies had a really great idea. In the time of the civil rights movement and a tumultuous time in Vietnam, the Hippie Movement was essential in changing the way people thought about things. It challenged the establishment and really made people question what is important in life. Here’s where the hippies went wrong: Drugs.

Don’t get me wrong, drugs are fun. But, when you are on drugs you lose your focus. And that is exactly what happened to the hippie movement. It was no longer about change and opening your mind to other peoples and new things, it was about How many hits of Acid you could take, before you ran in front of the Haight-Ashbury Trolley. In this era, the simple figures of the past changed too. The Beatles started doing drugs, and everything turned upside down.

The Hippie movement died, but people still clung to the sentiments of the hippie movement. Now, 40 years later…Hippies try to do the same things without the same urgency and the same openess. Stand up against Corporate America, Change mindsets, and be open to peoples of all type. All fair things to consider doing, but the means they go about it are completely wrong.

Hippies have no leadership these days. Not that they ever did, but they aren’t even lead by making the world a truly better place. Occasionally you’ll see some hippies protesting, but are they really doing anything to change the world they live in? Not particularly. All they are trying to do is to change things to make it their way. Now, don’t get me wrong…I have no problem with eating all Organic, or riding your bike everywhere. In fact, in the long run, those things are probably good for you. But we aren’t talking about the actual acts, now…We are talking about the continual pressure that these modern hippies place on everyone they meet. Constantly preaching about the wrongs of eating meat, or how we should stop drilling for oil. It’s this preaching that gets to me.

I thought the idea of the hippie movement was to be open to things, not to impose your neo-hippie ideas on everyone. Hippies are just as bad as their Corporate counterparts, in terms of preaching one thing, but doing something entirely different in practice.

What happened to the mutual respect and love of the hippies of lost generations? What are we to deal with now? These hippies who claim to be open, but spoon feed everyone they talk to the same liberal propaganda? How can you tell someone what to think about an issue, if you yourself don’t have the proper facts.

I recently watched 2 presidential debates and the VP debate with a group of self proclaimed hippies. Boy, that was a mistake. Throughout the entire debate, these Patchouli loving, sandal wearing, liberal nutcases never even once gave John McCain a fair shot. They knew before the debate who they were going to support, there was never any objectivity. Hell, 3 of the 5 dreadlocked Political rebels didn’t even know that the US was in a major economic crisis. Tell me then, How can you trust a movement that is so far removed from modern society that they don’t even know that the basis of our entire lives are crumbling apart?

I am tired of misinformed, judgmental, and completely hypocritical hippies. Have some respect for other people, will ya? Instead of segregating your movement from Soceity, become involved in it. You want to make a real change, you need to become informed and honestly keep to your credos of accepting people. Hippies do nothing for their cause, other than draw people in by drinking locally produced wines and doing their drugs to corrupt the minds of the youth. Hippies cause hippies to do hippie things. So, when the next hippie you meet comes up to you saying how much of a “Non-conformist” he is, and all his friends are saying the same thing…Call them out. Hippies are a walking contradiction. Stop living in a bygone era and come up with your own new thoughts.

So, to wrap it up… I f**king hate hippies.
