Rollmaster Report

Introduction

Greetings, Ludo Kressh. For those of you, who know me; ignore this first part for it will be long and tedious. I am Mitsuhide Akechi, a Krath Archpriest and your new Rollmaster. Many may feel that a Rollmaster may not be an important person of the House Summit, but whereas I do feel the same, I realize that it is, in and of itself, an important roll for the younger (read: newer) members. For many new members, the Rollmaster is the first person of their Clan to send them a message. This in and of itself is one of the most important steps to retaining our new people. While as Rollmaster, I resolve to keep as many of the new Journeymen as possible. I have been a member for ten years as of yesterday and am fairly well versed in helping people out. Naga Sadow was the first Clan I belonged to, and I hope that each and every new member will find it to be a good place to be just as I did and still do.

I have been in other Clans during my tenure in the Brotherhood, having yet to find a place where I have received as warm and as friendly a welcome as I always have in Naga Sadow. I will be devoting most of my time as Rollmaster to keeping in touch with the newer members, so those of you who are, let’s say…Jedi Hunter and above, you will likely not receive anything from me aside from my bi-weekly reports. My reports will give updates on the Master-Student pairings, transfers in and out, awards, promotions, and Shadow Academy information. You may choose to read these, or not. That choice is completely up to you, but for those Journeymen who are Guardian and below, some of these emails will divulge information on how best to proceed through the ranks.

There have been people who have told me that I talk too much, and perhaps they’re right. I do tend to talk a lot and thus many of my reports will be long winded. Just bear with it and hope that the time passes quickly. Now, on to the rest of the report.

Conclusion:

Well, this week has been pretty interesting. I was made the Rollmaster, celebrated my birthday and saw a few movies. Pride and Glory was fairly decent, but reminded me of We Own the Night (yes…the crappy movie with Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Wahlberg.), still a decent movie. However, I saw Quarantine tonight and in my opinion…zombie-like films are definitely losing the fear factor. Some are like Evil Dead, funny and B-rated. Some are like a George A. Romero film and can honestly creep you out. Others are simply bad. Quarantine is one of these. If I had to give it a star rating on one to five, this rated maybe a quarter of a star. Caretaker from The Longest Yard was scarier than this movie. Better script too. I mean seriously. How many zombie movies are there? I’m sure that even in these realities they have zombie movies. Hit them in the head. Don’t shoot them in the chest or get into a fist fight with them. It doesn’t work. Ugh. Hollywood is definitely losing the horror movie and zombie-esque movie touch. For those of you who are wondering why I’m going off on this, I reserve the conclusion section for my own personal ranting area. It pretty much will tie up the report and be used as an area where I can voice my opinions. As such, my opinions are exactly that. Make your own choices, but if I called it right, remember that you heard it from me first.

This week will also prove to be “wacky fun” as I continue the hunt of finding a job (or not finding one). So, I will now leave you to your own madness and return to my corner to rant and rave until the next time a report comes out. Maybe sometime in the near future, I’ll have you all decide what movies I should watch and I’ll give you reviews on them. Your very own personalized review of movies. Nah…too idealistic. Our tastes are quite possibly very different and you may like movies I think are absolute offal. Like Death Race, this was a HORRIBLE movie. Unless, of course, you went into the theater to watch a movie that was a near rendition of Twisted Metal with about a quarter of the storyline and a basket full of cheesy one-liners. So hard to find good movies these days, so please, if you know of any good movies, send an email to me and let me know.
