_ It was the 5th day of the deliberation, and Thran Occasus had never been more bored in his entire life. He hated everything about politics; The incessant rabble, the incoherent arguments, and the old and partially empty tray of cheese and crackers they had set out. As he sat in contempt of the entire Senate proceedings, it finally came time for him to address the senate.

“The Chancellor recognizes the Vice-Chancellor, and invites him to address the Senate.” Lucien said with a pretentious fortitude.

Thran stood and took his spot at the podium.

“Senators and esteemed diplomats, I am afraid I do not have much time to share with you today, so I will make my address short and to the point. The continuous delay of action from this Senate has proven one thing to me. That is, this Senate is not prepared or potent enough to do what is necessary for the livelihood of neither this Clan nor its fractions. The presence of this bureaucracy has slowed our Clan to a snail’s pace, and even more threateningly, The state of our very Empire is embodied by this Senate; Lethargic and confused. You are all a disgrace to the throne.” The Proconsul said, snipping at the entire assembly.

His opening was met with gasps and rabble from the Senate.

“You can waste as much time as you want. I, on the otherhand, have pressing issues to deal with; issues which deal with your safety and such commodious comforts. As you sit here debating our possible courses of action, a rebellion brews on the surface of Judecca; A rebellion which has been bred in the inaction and oppression of a lazy legislature. Make no mistakes, esteemed senators, I, Thran Occasus, will rectify your errors and stifle this rebellion with unbridled ferocity. As I stand before you, this rebellion grows stronger and gains support of the populace. If you enjoy your positions, you will let me leave these chambers, with haste, to return to my duties as Commander-in-Chief. I trust you will not disturb me with such ineffectual proceedings again. Good-day.”

Thran stepped down from the podium, and the Senate was left in shock. This conduct was not appropriate for the Proconsul. No one had ever shown this breed defiance to the Senate before. Lucien leaned over to Thran and whispered “You could have sugarcoated it some…”

“No, Emperor Palpatine, give the senate a sense of urgency and they will listen to your every whim. We must make them believe that their very existence depends on allowing us to make the calls. You give power to the senate, and by allowing that, they have gained power over you.” Thran replied

“Sith, I suppose you are going back to work now…Get me a report before you return to the Indomitable.” The Emperor said, preparing himself to clean up the mess Thran had left on the Senate floor.

The Proconsul made his way from the Senate chambers. At the shuttle dock, a woman waited for the Proconsul. “Your speech was inspiring, Master.” The dark beauty commented.

“Shut it. Prepare for rendez-vous with the Indomitable, immediately. Send for Emily and for the love of Darth, get me something other than stale crackers and old waxy cheese. I’m starving here.” Thran demanded.

“Of course, Mi’lord. How long until he loses his grip on the system?” the woman said from behind a dark veil.

“Soon, my sweet, soon. Now, go. We have work to do.”

When the sun sets...

From the inner city to the deepest and darkest wilderness, the onset of night brings about change. The scum of the universe, the most terrifying of monsters, and the wildest of people creep out from under their rocks. Evil men often strike by night, when they are obscurred by darkness. Predators come out to hunt, when prey is easily confused by the haunting sounds of night. Party people slip into their 9s and go out on the town. Write a short fiction, 2-4 pages, about what happens, your own nightlife, the nightlife of others, and finally who or what comes out for you to see when the sun sets.

The only stipulation of this topic is that it be set between sundown and sunrise.

_ And now the moment you’ve all been waiting for… My rant of the week.

The Detroit Lions. For those of you that aren’t aware…The Detroit Lions are the worst franchise in American Football History and they are my hometown team.

Since I don’t know where to begin…This is my rant…

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Is it too much to ask that you win on occasion?!?!

Rant #2… Thran Occasus. I don’t get it…why does everyone misspell my name? OCCASUS, OCCASUS, OCCASUS, Imbed that in your minds! If you ever get it wrong again…I will kill you till you die from it.
