Consul Report

::bow::

Children of the Final Order,

I bid thee welcome to another installment of the Consul's Report. This week I will be delving into the on-going projects of the Clan. Specifically, what the projects are, what their current status is and why they are going to be put on hold indefinitely (until the GJW ends)... and by 'on hold' I mean I will not be asking Project Leaders for updates. All individuals are encouraged to keep plodding along on their tasks, as they will improve the Clan once they come on-line.

Clan News

Project Contact. This project was originally driven by KP Famosus Aspicio, but has since been turned over to the Clan Summit for completion. The concept is that once a member is elevated, they will be given a plot-driven segment with the list of tasks required for their next elevation. This frees the House Leaders and Roll Master to focus less on spamming inboxes and more on directing and mentoring.

Status: Complete (100%)

Project Ceremony. This project is led by DA Braecen Kaeth and has received assistance from OP Yzarc Rellik Kaeth and OE Lucien Kaeth. Additionally, the House Leaders will be reviewing the content for inconsistencies and wording in the coming weeks. The concept is that each time a member is elevated - from the ranks of Initiate to Jedi Hunter - they will receive a promotion ceremony. Some of these ceremonies are symbolic, others are based on swearing fealties and oaths to the Brotherhood. A lot of credit for this should be given to two predecessors whom attempted to do the same thing: DJM Trevarus and DA Troutrooper.

Project Competence. Actually, the project is named "Roles of the Summit" but I couldn't help but keep the Project C-word thing going. In essence, I have a plan. I was given the role of Consul, because I had an outline for where we were going and how we were getting to that plateau. To aid me in that pursuit, Cern Unnos and the-artist-formerly-known-as-Prince...err-Raiju-dude-Warhunter have helped me create not only a tracker for individual activity (yes, big brother is watching!), but I took the idea a step further and created a leadership efficiency chart. This will help the leadership team stay on point and deliver the best experience we can, and owe, to you.

Status: Complete (100%)

Project Planets. This project is led by SW Kal Vorrac. The immediate fruits were received with a complete overhaul of the planet of Aerun; which was dramatically altered during the previous Great Jedi War: Incursion. He has since moved on to Morroth, but the holidays have slowed his progress. To assist in the workload, I am looking for volunteers to help with planet-related tasks; thus, alleviating down time on this project. Otherwise, Kal is really doing some special stuff with out planets and integrating the aftermath of the GJW, War of Ascension and our new outlook as a Clan.

Status: In-Progress (25%)

Project Armiez. This project is led by DJK Anubis with oversight and contributions from OP Yzarc Rellik Kaeth. These guys have invested a lot of time into pouring over ranks, branches, NPCs, and details... lots of details. This is probably one of the largest undertakings I have seen from two members in some time, but I look forward to their updates and the progress they continue to make. Indirectly related to this project, Alaris has also retooled our Clan Fleet with descriptions and detail. All in all, we will have a very detailed, comprehensive description of our Clan Forces once these three wrap it all up.

Status: In-Progress (50%)

Project CP Site. This project is led by SWL Dacien with contributions from KPN Arion and a ton of pestering by me. These guys are incredibly dedicated with my 'vision' for bringing the site back into prominence with our clan's activity and growth. The site - as of now - is not current, but that is because these guys are working on something really special for the Clan. It has a lot to do with the previous project and a whole bunch more dealing with the CP Officer Ranks Merit System. Additionally, Cipher has been a huge asset on this task - providing imagery and ideas to give the project a woman's touch.

Project Merit. This project is led by DA Braecen, but has seen increased activity from numerous individuals to improve the final product. Many thanks to Alaris, Cipher, Yzarc and company for their feedback and help. The Merit Program is designed to fold one's individual participation into the fictional elements of the Clan (that we rule the Jusadih System as a military government). To this end, we have created an entire platform - ranks, rewards, points and all - all that remains now, of course, is launching the system in full. With the base work done, catching everyone up and awarding the appropriate points should come in short order. I would expect this to be done on-around Christmas Day (what a wonderful present!).

The Message

The key to having an organized effort in the Night Great Jedi War will come from the leadership team. We will ensure that everyone is informed of the competitions, progressions and results. We will also have people in appointed positions to assist you in your pursuit of success; proofreaders, experienced campaigners, coaches to drive the run-on, etc. These individuals will neither tell you what to write or make your submissions magically better. They are there to give you ideas and point out issues with spelling, grammar and plot.

In short, we will do everything we are capable of to make sure that you find nothing but success in the forthcoming war. Because it is fun to be successful and it is fun to fight your peers for the title of Clan Champion (just ask Alaris or Kara). Yet, despite all of the foundations I can set in place, it still requires one thing...

You. Without participation, we will not succeed as individuals or as a Clan. Traditionally, the Clan with the most submissions/participation has placed in the final two spots. Dubiously earning themselves the title of First Clan or Second Clan... of the Brotherhood. Has a nice ring to it, does it not? But we cannot get there alone, nor can we force people to participate in this event.

Each of us must hold ourselves accountable. Despite what others may be doing, we must push ourselves to do every fiction/poem/graphic we can; then, when we think we are done, push into the world of gaming or the Antei Combat Center. But we must work in moderation and not at the expense of our lives away from the keyboard.

We have priorities. Our first is to get as many quality submissions to the fictions as we can. This will bolster our overall score only by meeting the demand in force - the entire Clan. From there, you must decide which events you hope to partake in on a nearly daily basis... be it Gaming, Antei Combat Center, Run-On or the other events that crop up from time-to-time. If you do not have structure, you will simply bounce off of every wall until you fizzle out.

So take our lead when the time comes... and be sure to ask for help whenever you need it. The leaders of this Clan will ensure you do not go without assistance.

THE FIN

No Brotherhood News?!?! Yea, I figured I would not beat the dead horse by talking about Character Sheets. And that seems to be the majority of what reports were focusing on; however, on a side note, there is a fantastic degree that was released Dark Savant: Writing and Philosophy. I encourage people to go take a look and see if they are qualified for it.

Where are all the leaders? Some of you may have noticed a slowdown in communication from some of our leaders. The reason is simple... it is the holidays and college finals are finishing up. They will all be back in full force with the new year. Have patience.

Dark Traveler Saga. This competition is meant to give you broad outlines (like you will see in the GJW) and have you create fictional pieces with the basic information provided. You will create a dramatic tale and I will enjoy reading them all. As a special bonus, I am awarding either a copy of "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" or "Star Wars: Republic Commando" to individuals whom compete in all three acts. All individuals whom compete in all three acts. All individuals whom compete in a-

Get it? Got it. Good.

As always, I invite anyone whom has questions, comments or concerns to address me via my e-mail address ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]) or catch me on IRC (Braecen). I figure I will get a lot of probing from the GM & DGM about these projects, but if one of them caught your eye... give me a shout.
