Gaming Nights:

All CF's and PoB's have been awarded through this past week.

Excellent work and congrats to Dox, Odin, Prajna, and Frosty on being the top

gamers so far for the month!

Console Competition

The much awaited console competition will begin on 2 January 2009.

The platforms used will be HALO3 and COD4. Matches will be reported under the

"Other Gaming" option via the report gaming option on your admin screen. If you

have these games on the computer, matches will be allowed to be reported from

those as well.

The CF awarding system for these two games will be posted on the wiki following

my return from the Christmas Holidays (either the 29th or 30th of December).

Have a happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

Signed,

What's the link to the competition, again? :P

What's to stop exploiting in COD4? There's no way for anyone to track the matches if the case were actually brought up, God forbid.

And by exploiting, I mean submitting a match against someone, when you actually didn't play one. :P

Having played COD4 for over a year now, I'm kind of wondering how we're going to swing this.

Well, the same could be said for BF/BFII/EAW/XvT/XWA/SWGB/etc so I'm not really sure how much worse this could be? It's called integrity and personal responsibility, and, hopefully, our members have some. We haven't had many cheating cases so I'm going to trust our members to do the right thing.

Well for PC games that we play, namely JO and JA, the server owner has the power to see who's signed onto the server, so on and so forth. So there was always a safety net if someone cried "HAX!". At least, I'm able to check such things on a private JO server I own, I'm not sure if the same can be said for the official gaming channels.

Don't get me wrong, I think bringing console gaming is a neat thing, and I plan to impliment it. I just don't want to see it abused, and have some idiot ruin it for us hardcore gamers of the DB.
